Hannah folded her arms. "You're the one that left."
Hannah was glad to have an excuse to leave. She tracked Edward easily and soon caught up with him. "Edward!" She slowed a couple paces behind him. "If don't want to be near me anymore, I understand... But can I at least have a good-bye...?"
"I won't go without Edward." Hannah said, rising. "And I won't say any more. I've already told you things that I didn't plan on telling anyone."
Hannah looked at Edward. "Because I'm not his." She said, as though it was obvious. "If he really wants me, he'll have to...." She trailed off.
Hannah dropped her hair. "I don't know his name. We only met that one time..."
Hannah looked at Edward, worry and fear reflected in her eyes. She looked briefly at Van Helsing and then pulled her hair away from her neck to show two three month old bite marks.
Hannah's knees buckled and she dropped to the ground. "I can't explain everything..." She started. "And I really would rather not talk about it..." She looked up at Van Helsing. "But I can see you won't take no for an answer." She lowered her head again. "I met Dracula four months ago. I didn't know who he was, but I knew that I had an attraction to him. When were apart, he was all I thought about. It seemed odd; I'd never felt that way before. Anyway, when we met up for the third time, he seemed different. But that feeling still stayed with me. He complimented me; told me I was strong and beautiful. I didn't really know how to take it. He said that the next time we met, he'd show me something that he'd only shown three others. Naive as I was, I took it to be some secret area in the forest or something. Before that meeting though..." She faltered. "I met another man.... He wasn't as charming as Dracula, in fact, he was just scary." She looked at Van Helsing and then Edward and then back at the ground. "Something happened between us, and now Dracula seems pretty angry about it..."
Go to Dracula?! Thoughts of what might happen whirled through Hannah's head. "Um... I ... I don't know. Shouldn't you be making the decisions?"
"I-" Hannah closed her mouth, shaking her head lightly. "It's complicated."
Hannah kept her hands at her sides. "Perhaps... you and Van Helsing should search during the day. That way... you won't have us to worry about... And I don't want anyone else dead because of me."
Hannah tried to stop trembling. "We... we have to look for J-Jinx." She looked at Edward. "I'm sorry... You're hurt."
Hannah's fangs receded. "I'm okay.... How did she know my name?" She muttered, trying to stay on her feet.
Aleera walked to Hannah, grabbing her throat. "What could you have learned in three months that would be useful against me?" She smirked, throwing Hannah into a tree. "My master wishes for you to be kept alive, Hannah, dear. You're already starting to lose yourself." Hannah stood shakily, her fangs bared. "I've learned enough!" She shouted, forgetting who was watching. "Your 'master' won't get a thing out of me!" "So rude." Aleera grinned. "Let us know what you think. They sky is ours." She looked at Van Helsing before taking flight.
Aleera began circling Hannah and Edward. "My master doesn't like to see females that aren't his." Hannah circled with Aleera. "Your master can drive a stake through himself for all I care!" Aleera transformed and flew at Hannah. Hannah pulled out her dagger, refusing to succumb to vampire fighting. She drove the dagger through Aleera's hand. Aleera pulled back, the dagger still in her hand. Hannah swayed. Aleera threw the dagger to the side. "Can't take the feel of a stronger vampire near you?" "Stop fooling around Marishka!" Verona yelled.
Aleera stood in front of Hannah and Edward. "Protecting?" Her eyes were bright purple through the darkness. Hannah shook her head, trying to clear the dizziness. "I don't." She said, though she wasn't quite sure of it herself. Verona circled ahead, ready to help either bride if needed. Marishka grabbed Beatrice by the wrist with her foot. "And what's your role in the game? Food? Or corps?"
Hannah pulled her cloak around herself. It's not cold out... So why am I shivering? She looked up at the clouds and thought she saw movement. "Van Helsing...." "Be cautious of the werewolf." Verona warned Aleera and Marishka. "Of course." Marishka laughed quietly. "I'll take care of the girl." Aleera ordered, "Keep the stranger busy."
Hannah stepped over the cross so they wouldn't see. "The stables is my first guess." She said.
Hannah made a cross in the dirt with her foot. I'm starting something that I don't know how will end... She thought, looking at the cross. I'll need some help...
Hannah woke when the moon was high in the sky. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the dark and she got off the bed to get her cloak. Once she was ready, she went outside to have a bit of alone time before Van Helsing and Edward came out.
