Samantha pulled out her Trigonometry book. I may as well double over my homework.
Beatrice knelt by Hannah, a wave of nausea passing over her. "What can I do, Hannah?" "Nothing..." Hannah murmured. "Unless you know how to take a bullet out..." Beatrice noticed the wound. "Oh... No, I can't... But, um... I could-" "It's fine." Hannah interrupted. "You might not want to look at Elijah." "A bit late." Beatrice said, half-smiling. Hannah laughed, causing more pain where the bullet was lodged. "Damn...." "Sorry..." Beatrice wanted to do more to make Hannah more comfortable, but she was afraid it would only increase her pain.
Hannah groaned. "Probably somewhere recognizable... Try the church or the collesium..." She took her hand away from her back and braced herself against the floor. "Beatrice!" She called hoarsely. Beatrice heard Hannah's call and came quickly. "Oh my God..." Her stomach rolled when she saw the mess. "Wh- what happened...?"
Hannah shut her eyes. "Okay, I lied... It hurts..." She grit her teeth. "Just get me away from the blood... Then get whoever you think can take a bullet out..."
"It's fine..." Hannah's voice shook. "It doesn't hurt...." She knew she had to get the bullet out in order for the wound to heal, but she didn't move. The location made it a lot harder.
Hannah cried out, her hand flying to her back. She barely registered what happened, but the smell of blood was starting to overpower her pain. She involuntarily dropped to her knees. Damn... It's like he only has silver bullets.
Hannah turned her back. "Then just do it."
"I know that." Hannah said. "But can you blame him for wanting to kill me? I'm a monster, Edward."
No please. Please don't leave. You're the only one I can really talk to. PLEASE DON'T GO.
Hannah was next to Edward in a flash, her hand on his arm that held the gun. "Edward," She didn't know what she wanted to say. Part of her wanted to see Elijah dead more than anything, but the other part, her human part perhaps, couldn't just stand by and let him be killed.
Garxena bit her tongue; she hadn't thought of that. "I'm sorry...."
Hannah covered her nose as the scent of blood grew stronger. Her mind was starting to fog with the thoughts she tried not to think. "Edward, I was handling things fine!"
"Then you and I go back together!" Garxena felt hopeless. "I can't just stand by; how can you?"
Hannah's stomach churned. She clenched her jaw and balled her fists. "Don't..." She said through grit teeth. "Don't tempt me. Put your hand in your pocket before I kill you."
Hannah moved too quickly for a human to see; she was at the end of the barn in a second, the stake in the wall where she had stood before. "I may not be the best, but I can take you."
Hannah showed Elijah her fangs. "If it comes to it I will."
