"I understand," Angel paused. "I think. Well, I mean I know what's it like to have something happen to you that you're... afraid of. Time will sort this all out... hopefully." She wanted to shout something back at Alex, but kept her mouth shut for him.
Hannah sighed, listening to the events outside. Van Helsing is one of the stupidest humans I've ever met. I'm surprised Jinx didn't punch him for that. "I don't need to be next to her to talk with her." John reminded Lestat.
"Thanks." Angel said softly. She stared at the sidewalk passing underneath her feet. "So you think that the statue is like a key object?"
The lightheadedness left Garxena, only to be replaced by a sharp, powerful pain in her head. She squirmed against Hideo's hold, crying out from the pain.
Angel still pulled against Advent. "They're from my father. I'm not leaving them there." She thought for a moment and then let Advent pull her. "Never mind...," She sighed. "I guess it's best to not go back."
Garxena's eyes drooped closed. "Silax...." She murmured.
"Can we at least go back so I can get my weapons?" Angel asked, pulling against Advent's hold.
Garxena wanted to call for Silax, but her cry caught in her throat. Fear froze her in the chair and she could find no response for Hideo.
"Uh, no problem." Angel stuttered. She put her hands back in her pockets.
Angel focused on the water and moved her hands as if to push it down. The water slowly receded back into the ground pipes. Angel dropped her hands. "That's weird."
Garxena shut her eyes. Ignorance had only brought her pain last time. She'd underestimated Hideo and almost begged for him to end her pain. She would not be so naive again. "I have to know."
Angel nodded slowly. "Yeah... okay."
"No way...." Angel shook her head lightly. "I'm not doing that again. My dreams are bad enough. If it's something I can control, I don't want to do it."
Garxena shuddered. "Tell me anyway."
Angel threw her hands up in frustration. Water burst out of the sprinklers bordering the grass and the sidewalk. She instantly put her hands back down and the water stopped. "What... was... that?!" She stared at her hands. The only thing I've ever done that was strange are my dreams....
"Yes." Garxena meant for the word to be strong, defiant, but it came out in barely a whisper.
Garxena meekly shook her head.
"Stop it." Angel directed at Alex. "I don't want to hear anything else about pedophiles or my being 'cute'."
Garxena turned her head away from Hideo and closed her eyes.
Angel shuddered. "Can we please just be reasonable...?"
