She might even be a match for you. John smirked at the thought.

Hunter blood or not, this was Beatrice's first time around exposed human blood. The images that passed through her head both shocked and appealed to her. Her stomach knotted and she felt as if her throat was raked with fire. Her eyes faded in and out of focus, but when they met with Van Helsing's, they were coal black. She wasn't aware of anything else except the scent of blood so close to her. She tore her eyes away from Van Helsing's and they quickly found the wound that seemed to be inviting her.

Hannah put her hands on Edward's face and made him look down at her. "Don't you dare start a fight with anyone, understand?" She pointed behind herself without looking away from Edward. "Beatrice and Jinx are there. Van Helsing is already bleeding, we don't need anymore blood." She noticed her own throat was begging to find where the blood came from. She turned away from Edward and looked at Van Helsing. "Will you please do something about that?" She nodded her head towards his hands.

Claire folded her arms across her chest. "If I were you, I'd let him have it."

    "Claire!" Angel gasped.

"What?" Claire looked at Angel. "I know he's like you. I think there could be more too." She smiled. "Maybe I-"

"Oh, just shut up." Angel snapped. "It's not fun like you think it is. I'm not a superhero. These things I see are almost always bad. I don't have dreams anymore, Claire. I don't think I ever will. You should be happy you're normal. Enjoy it."

Claire flopped backwards and spread her arms out on the mattress. She sighed, "YOU should enjoy it. You might even be famous some day."

"If you haven't noticed," Angel retorted. "I dont plan on telling the world about what I can do. And I don't plan on doing anything that will let them know what I can do. I'm trying to keep a low profile about all this. Don't you understand?"

"Not really," Claire answered simply. "I think you should talk to Mom about this. She might know some stuff. You did say that you think your dad was like you. Maybe it's a gene thing."

"It would have to be recessive if it was." Angel avoided answering or even thinking about the idea of talking to her mom. "Don't you have homework to do?"

"It's Saturday!" Claire whined. "I'm waiting till tomorrow." She hopped off the bed and out of Angel's room. "Let's bake something." She called as she skipped down the hall to the kitchen.

Angel groaned. Let's disappear forever instead.

Claire rushed back into the house and to Angel's room. "Are you okay? What happened?" She asked instantly, going over to sit next to Angel on the bed. "Did he hurt you? Why are you crying?"

"Shut up," Angel murmured weakly. "Nothing happened.... Nothing that wasn't supposed to."

"You knew this would happen and you let yourself get attached anyway?" Claire demanded.

Angel sighed. "Yes. But I couldn't help it. He's... he's just different than others. I don't know...."

"Jeez, Angel," Claire said. "You're so messed up. You know what's going to happen so why bother going against it?"

"I don't mean to." Angel answered.

Beatrice stiffened slightly at the yelling and then recognized the smell of blood. She rooted herself to where she stood, though most of her wanted to do otherwise.

Hannah was jerked away from her thoughts at Van Helsing's words. She didn't know whether she should be happy or upset if his words proved true. She turned around to look at Edward, shaking his hands off her shoulders. "Is that true, Edward? You don't care about this group? You don't care about Beatrice or Jinx? Is that it? You've just got one goal? I appreciate your concern for me, really I do, but these are my friends and...." She trailed off and looked at the ground.

My bet is Hannah will. John responded. If that idiot tries to go near her, he'll find she's a hell of a lot stronger than he, or any of us for that matter, is on the full moon.

Garxena portal back to the headquarters and, quickly as she could without making herself dizzy, laid on her stomach on a couch. She turned her head to one side and closed her eyes. It felt as though something had been taken out of her and put back in the wrong place. She couldn't stop Hideo's face from forming behind her closed lids so she opened her eyes and stared blankly at the wall. Though, try as she might, she couldn't get rid of Hideo's voice in her head. The way it was so smooth and assuring and believable, even though she knew it was all lies. Lies. She thought bitterly. Just like Dexeon. I should have listened to Silax.... She closed her eyes again and cringed as the apparation of Hideo appeared again.

That's not true.... Angel couldn't bring herself to say the words. I don't know why, but I just can't accept that to be true. She sank to sit on her bed, letting the daggers fall out of her hands and onto the bed at either side of her. But I can't tell him anymore than I have. Something brought on that vision... it might not even be one that I can trust. Why would my father's present make me see my own death? Why would Advent be the one giving the orders...? Something wet slid down Angel's cheek, and the next thing she knew, she was sobbing for a future she wished wouldn't come true.

    Incredibly stupid. John agreed.

Hannah lost herself in her thoughts. The problem would be earning trust. And I don't even know what a lycan looks like.... They can't be too different from a vampire; probably pale... hm... but maybe they won't be because of the werewolf blood. Maybe I could tell by eyes. But then again...

"You're probably right." Beatrice said after thinking about it. "Yeah, we should get back. I don't want to keep them waiting."

"Must I remind you whoes house this is?" Angel muttered, too wary to release her daggers. She tried to kept a straight face, to block the self-scolding expression, to keep her mind blank. The last thing she needed was to point blank tell a potentiel enemy her weakness. She was suddenly very aware of the weight of the necklace around her neck. She felt as though the chain was digging into her neck. Ignoring that too, she moved towards her window, keeping Advent in her feild of vision. "You should be the one leaving."

"Then you'd be the first to prove my visions wrong." Angel murmured, keeping her daggers in front of herself. I don't want to fight. She mulled to herself. Not in such a small place where he can use my weakness against me. I've got to keep him on my left side. And as soon as I can, I've got to make sure Claire is okay.

Angel squared her shoulders. "In the near future, in a fight with those things that were in the museum this morning. I'll be outnumbered and alone. I'll fight until one comes up behind me and holds my arms still." She kept her voice as steady as she could. "I won't be able to fight back then. Others will join the one that holds me. Eventuallly, I will die by my own weapon." She was shaking by the end, but she held her head high and her grip on her daggers did not loosen. "There's your answer."

"Was that what that smell was?" Beatrice asked. "I smelled something really... well, practically painful. I had to change directions. But if it was a werewolf, why doesn't Edward smell that way to me?"

Hannah greatfully accepted Edward's help. If I could find a lycan... She started on her own trail of thoughts, knowing Edward would handle Van Helsing.

John took the two steps towards Jake and punched him again; this time in the gut, and sent him backwards into a tree. "Keep away from the whole group or I'll make sure you die sooner than two days." He stood over Jake and harshly placed his foot on the werewolf's chest. "You're already weak from her venom. I could kill you right now." John removed his foot from Jake, allowing him to breath again. "Enjoy your last days of life." He walked away, ignoring Lestat.

John's fist slammed into Jake's jaw. "One of those 'newborn she-vamps' is mine." He hissed. "Keep your filthy paws off her. I expect you dead within two days. In those two days, you will not go within a village's distance of Hannah, understand?"

"You make him sound like a tool." Hannah smiled, and got out of the carriage, holding onto the door for support as the pain returned to her head. She found herself looking at the moon again and forced her gaze to the ground.

After a moment, Beatrice stood up from the buck and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.

"Van Helsing and Will." Hannah replied after a moment. "Should we help?"

Beatrice found the large buck with ease. Caution didn't even cross her mind as she lunged at the buck and wrestled it to the ground. Her fangs sunk deep into its neck, ripping at the muscle in the way. The smell and taste overwhelmed her, blocking out all other noises and sights.

John raised an eyebrow, interested in Jake's answer.

Beatrice gave Jinx a breif nod and then ran into the forest, easily tracking the sweet smell of blood that was nearby. She barely noticed when she gave herself into her senses. Only a second later, she stopped dead in her tracks, a new scent coming into the air. She covered her nose against the burn the scent brought. She shook her head, trying to get rid of the acrid scent. Not able to ignore the smell, she bolted in the opposite direction after a different more appealing smell.

"But I'll be getting my information from books." Hannah added.

John turned his head towards the silent sound of rushed footsteps. Seems the ladies are out for a quick hunt. Beatrice probably hasn't gotten used to the smell of werewolves yet.

"Yes, I'll try." Hannah assured Edward. "But once we get to a town with a library, I want to get some information; anything at all. I don't want to have to ask John."

"I'm not one for provoking werewolves." John muttered. "Besides, he'll die soon enough."

Hannah pursed her lips. "It's not like that. Why do you think it's forbiddin for a vampire to bite a werewolf? The blood of a werewolf won't just pass through us; it... combines with ours.... Something happens, I don't really understand it since John didn't explain it to me fully, but I know I can't change what I did. I think I'll be doing some library research of my own."

John looked at Jake. "Looks like you've scared him enough, Lestat. Let's go."

"I can't get rid of it. It's his blood, not his venom." Hannah said. "But it is a good idea. It might help."

John leaned to the side to dodge the stake. "That wasn't necessary." He said, approaching Lestat and Jake.
