"They must be pretty bad." Hannah murmured, trying to keep the tension out of her voice.
"Probably not." Hannah answered, tensing slightly.
"Why not?" Hannah asked. "You technically have your arms around a monster, you know."
Hannah wished her heart wouldn't pound against her chest every time Lestat touched her, but she didn't mind now, it was keeping her unwanted thoughts at bay. "Calm... I think I can manage that." "Edward...?" Beatrice squeaked. Her eyes glazed over and she blacked out.
"I'm scared." Hannah managed to say after a moment, her voice barely audiable to human ears. "And I haven't eaten in a week." She hesitated. "And I've got an urge to just... rip something apart...." Beatrice gripped her head, shaking, but stayed where she was. Grateful that the smell of werewolf blood was absolutely appalling to her, she looked away from it and closed her eyes.
"Truthfully?" Hannah asked carefully, hearing her heart skip at Lestat's touch.
"You're insane if you're going to go in there. We should go back and get Alex." Angel kept her voice quiet.
Hannah timidly sat next to Lestat, feeling for the first time that she could fully trust Lestat. Beatrice quietly followed the sounds of Edward and Jake. She halted abruptly, Edward's voice ringing in her head.
Hannah shook her head. "I don't trust myself." Beatrice jerked up from her deer when she heard Edward's and Jake's howls. What's going on? She thought. I didn't think he'd actually go after that hunter.
Angel stopped outside a doorway, holding her arm out for Advent to stop. "There are too many." She whispered.
"He has," Hannah answered. "I just don't understand why." Frustration seeped into her voice.
"Angel!" Angel's head jerked towards the sound. "Let's go!" She yelled over her shoulder at Advent, already running towards the cry.
"Does that mean she's..." Angel shook the thought away. "I don't know if she's close or not. I was right on their trail, but then you guys distracted me."
Hannah nodded. "Yeah, I understand." She paused. "It just makes me feel useless. I want to be able to do something against John, anything I can to help."
"I might be missing a few things." Angel admitted, removing her hand.
"Oh," Hannah began slowly. "Well, um, okay."
Angel put a hand on Advent's shoulder. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Hannah looked back at Lestat. "Then why don't you just stay with us? Only if you want to. I mean I don't want to force you or anything, but it does seem like-" She trailed off, trying to find the words she wanted.
"No problem." Angel replied dryly. "Let's just get to Claire without getting noticed again."
