Glad you're adding the original picture, comparisons are always wonderful. Were you hoping for a more monotonic sepia tone? Not sure if im feeling it 100% but I love the comic book grain in it. Kinda gives it a feel of questioning, which works well with the quote. However, Im not so sure with the text in regards to aesthetics. I've noticed your style is very grungy and messy most of the time, which I love. Not always so symmetrical and such. Maybe use some more "handwritten" fonts and messy ones, that may integrate with the piece better? also angles are pretty perpendicular, it may look good having them on angles and such idk.
