Essentially the problem with these rules is they aren't really even rules. Just vague statements warning people what will and will not be tolerated without ACTYUALLY warning them about what will and will not be tolerated. It's just a fuckton of general statements.

HOW FAR EXACTLY CAN I GO EXACTLY? Saying that I should keep it "PG-13" is very vague considering you'll see everything up until the nipple of a large breasted woman in some PG-13 movies. You'll see strongly implied sex scenes, and you'll even see bare ass. Basically according to these rules I can go post a picture of a man's bare ass cheeks all over the spam zone and I could argue any punishment because the scene is from a PG-13 movie.

And then what is exactly excessively obscene?

And then the swear filter is pointless and should be done away with because everyone bypasses it, even some staff. It's not stopping anything from being said, just making it require more pointless effort to say it. If a post is too obscene you can edit it yourselves but if I want to offend you, I can do it and this filter isn't going to stop me. Shit needs to go.

Never understood the hate for the Naruto dub, I personally like the voices.

Also I prefer dubs because I'm usually doing multiple things so I can watch a dub and then switch tabs and still listen but with a sub I have to give it my full attention to ****ing read while I watch.

Though most Subs are better than dubs and the original dialogue is usually much better than the english translations.

This is what I do. Unless it's from an artist who's album I know I won't enjoy or the song isn't from an album, I'll download by the album. I buy music when it's an artist I actually like and I only buy physical copies, and have to like the packaging/artwork/whatever comes with it. If I like the album but it comes in a crappy jewel case with just the little booklet thing I probably won't buy it. Lately one of my favorite artist has been releasing his projects on cassette tapes with extra stuff included like art work and poetry though so I buy those.

These systems are only fundamentally the same when you include the currently not possible possiblity of the implementations to the like system that Amaury and a few others brought up.

And we liked the rep system. We do not like the like system. If it is proven that more of us prefer the rep system, why not bring it back?

Negative feedback builds character, no one ever gets better if people keep telling them they're doing good or just don't tell them anything at all. Getting 6 dereps on a post is a bit excessive but getting one or two neg reps every now and then will let you know that maybe something you said rubbed someone the wrong way and you can learn from it. You keep posting and generally taking the opposite point of view as us who are for the rep system, suggesting that we should just change the like system. You can say you're neutral all you want but you're here posting, and your posts are not in support of what we want but instead you come with questions as to why we should get what we're arguing for, so you're clearly going to be viewed as opposition if you're not supporting us.

And we've explained why we like one over the other. I did it in the post you quoted, it's not possible at the moment to even make the like system function exactly like the rep system, so why are you guys beating a dead horse? Or rather why are you beating a horse that was never alive in the first place?

If you want to point out unhelpful responses, lets look at it this way. You two are arguing essentially for implementations that don't exist.

And the answer is as simple as we liked rep when we had it, it ran smoothly enough for us, and we can get it back, so why not? The like system is simple, unoriginal and easily abused. WE LIKE THE REP SYSTEM BETTER. WE'VE BEEN EXPLAINING WHY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE THREAD.

Also since you two want reasons, here's the small fact that the like system is literally exactly the same as facebook, which is a dying social network. Facebook is the butt of many jokes today similar to how myspace was during it's demise. If I wanted to deal with likes and what not I'd be on facebook. Interesting system...can't say exactly how I feel about it as opposed to having a rep system instead but from what I saw it looks better than Likes. Still, I'm more for rep though, but that's just me.

Also, the idea of a post to post rating basis is another thing I don't like. Like this post is rated this well while another post from the same member is rated only this well and a few other posts are rated poorly. Rep is a system that is applied to the member overall and not just post to post, and the amount of rep you already have influences how much you give. I personally like that better.

It really doesn't. What you're proposing is basically the same as a rep system, except for those features don't currently exist for likes. Why wait for people to make them when the rep system has it already?

You said Unlike, not dislike. There is a difference because we do already have an "Unlike" feature, and the dislike button only serves to make it more like rep. Why not just get rep back, then?
