I am older, therefore I win.
Lol was that Angelina Jolie and the guy who plays Syler from Heroes? But anyway, I will probably go see this just to satisfy my inner nerd :v I watched all the series all the time xD And I've seen several of the movies (and played a lot of the games x: ) I heard that William Shatner auditioned for the role of Kirk xD
I CHOOSE YOU!c
Your dog changes gender at will? O_O
I'd say the only way to get rid of it would be to put your computer back to factory settings =/ Which basically means wiping the whole thing and starting from scratch =D
If anything the people you should be disgusted with are those that refuse to give their organs to other people. Organ donations almost always save lives, and I can see no logical or sensible reason why someone should not donate their organs (there are medical reasons, such as the person having an STD or something).
<3 <3 <3 I thought you were gaga for another fine lady? ;D
At GCSE level I got 7 A*s and 3 As. At AS I got 3 As and a B (which I brought up to an A this year by doing a resit) And in my mocks I got 3 As and a B again and am aiming for 2 As and at the very least a C (need it for uni X_X)
Lol I sense that someone may have voted for all of them in one go ;)
I hate deja vu with a passion. I sometimes get it several times in the same place while doing the same thing D: Of course, spread out over a long period of time. It makes me feel like I'm loosing touch with the world ._.
There are places like this all over the world, even one here in Northern Ireland. It is an optical illusion. It looks like the road is sloping upwards and therefore looks like the car is rolling up the hill. In fact, it is actually rolling downhill. Apparently it is often caused by an obstructed horizon as this severely inhibits our ability to make judgement on slopes. Also, what we see can override what our inner ear tells us.
This picture actually made me lol so hard xD But yeah, America sux. RULE BRITANNIA, BRITANNIA RULES THE WAVES! D:
That is an argument of semantics. We as humans called all other organisms animals to make ourselves seem special. Yes, we are a very special kind of organism. We are the only one (that we know of) to gain sentience and sapience. However, we are all still products of evolution. I think that the Anthropic Principle applies here. The reason we see our evolution as so special is because it seems so rare. But the only reason we are here to think about it is because it did happen. If it hadn't happened we wouldn't be here to think about it xD But yeah, the evidence we have completely and utterly contradicts creationism. The earth cannot possible be 6000 years old and all animals did not appear at the same time.
A common misconception of natural selection is that it is the best overall that wins. As childofturin said it is not necessarily the best, just the best for the given environment. This is why a change in environmental conditions can kill off an otherwise well adapted species. There is also no conscious drive to be "better". What makes a species become better over time is the survival of individuals through the effects of their particular genes. If they are successful in the particular environment (both external and the environment of the "gene pool", as they are technically in a form of competition with other genes) then they will spread through the population and the species will gain that trait. I would also like to point out that group selection does not happen. There is no "what is best for the group/species". As I said genes are not conscious. If they survive then they propagate and become more populous. This happens through not only making the particular individual they are in survive but also through helping other copies of themselves survive. The common misconception arises because we are biased towards our kin as opposed to complete strangers. But it is very simple. The closer someone is related to us the more likely they are to carry the same genes as us. Therefore genes that had the affect of making us protect and save our kin become more populous because more copies of it were passed on down through the generations. On to the point of this thread ;D I don't see that we have any duty to do any of those things. We can't pass any of those traits on to our offspring, so it won't help humanity become "better". All we can do is selective breeding (weed out the "bad genes", although this in itself is subjective).

Dubai, actually.

I know that it technically doesn't, but this thread is not evolution vs. theism. It is evolution vs. creationism, and really there is no contest.
I am definitely going to visit that building when it is finished =D
