It is an Advanced RP, but don't think your posts have to be that long (that's not always what makes an "Advanced" RP!). Anyway, everyone's first post should be similar. Your Player starting the game up and experience the same tutorial that I will be directing as "OLI." The game is officially online after clicking "Yes" (which means Characters can communicate via text or chat).
"Hey, Faust~" The young man said quickly as he brushed past his furry best friend. The curious 'meow?' fell on deaf ears as Jack darted into his room. His apartment was small, yeah, but it was the perfect size for him. He quickly grabbed what he needed -the box containing his copy of Etiam- and quickly ran back into the living room, his pet cat following him the entire way. Wasting as little time as possible, Jack opened the game's case, took the disc out, and slid into his Playstation 3 before turning on his television. Excitedly, he then took off the bag strapped around his shoulder and pulled out his new purchase: a headset. Jack had wanted to start the game the day before, but a coworker suggested that he buy a headset first, to make it easier to communicate. Never having played an MMO before, Jack figured that he might as well. He had to wait until after work to buy one so it was pretty late...but what's a night spent playing video games? A damn good night, Jack thought. Taking a deep breath, he put on the headset and started the game. Instantly, beautiful music that reminded Jack a little too much of Final Fantasy burst from his earphones. It was fast-paced, reminding the gamer of a battle's anthem. The introduction video started automatically with incredible graphics. Jack stared in awe at lizard-men traveling the seas on a ship, winged warriors flying through the skies before descending into battle against ogre-like men in a forest, massive figures casting magic against machines in the Arctic, different machines plugging themselves into buildings in a city, and more instances of the world's races. As the music slowed down, becoming more tense, Jack watched as a cloaked figure approached a human man in a suit. Jack could see the figure's eyes shine and a twisted smile, but the rest of the face was hidden. The next scene showed the Animi (Jack skimmed the instruction booklet) running in fear from an enormous shadow as their city fell around them. The music started to fade, as did the video until there was no sound or audio. That's when he heard the voice. "Hello, young soul." There was nothing on the screen, just black. If it wasn't for the fact that he was wearing the headset, Jack would have thought the voice was coming from somewhere in his apartment. It was kind of eerie, deep and with a slight echo...but somehow soothing. "You are being reborn into a new world...the world of Etiam. It is a world in mayhem, but you are fearless. Why are you fearless? Because you are born from the souls of the saviors of Etiam. Are you confused? No worry; all shall be revealed soon. However, before your new birth, I suggest you tell me about yourself -about the current soul that you think you are." Suddenly, a customization menu opened up, allowing Jack to edit his player profile. Typing quickly, he entered his age, uploaded a picture of himself, filled out some information about his gaming habits, and confirmed his time-zone and console. As soon as he pressed "Confirm," the voice started again. "Hmm. How strange. Your world is so different from mine...You'll see soon enough. Now, it is time to meet your compatriots; new souls just like yourself!" A glowing sphere, shining white, appeared in the middle of his screen, but the rest remained black. Above the sphere was the word 'JackHammer,' Jack's PSN and username for the game. Jack waited a second, but nothing happened. He pushed the analog stick and the sphere moved in the same direction. "Oh, I get it. I'm a 'soul'...I think," Jack mumbled to himself as Faust jumped onto his lap. He leaned back, allowing the cat to get comfortable while still allowing himself room to hold the controller and continued moving his 'soul' around. It only took a few moments before he found other 'souls,' each with a username above it. He realized these were other players, but no way to communicate with them was available; there was still no menu and the game wasn't picking up his voice. It seemed it wasn't yet time for the social aspect. After enough souls grouped together, Jack noticed one of the spheres was dark, glowing black, and no username. He wondered if it was an NPC or a glitch before all souls stopped moving. Without warning, a figure started to materialize in the background. "What the hell-?" The figure was extremely tall and slender...not to mention, skeletal. It was a skeleton...with large, curved horns...wearing a suit. Not what he expected to see. The skeleton gave off a red light, allowing it to stand out even more against the black background and the white-glowing souls. It moved its head, looking at each soul before an apple materialized in its hand, complete with a *chime* noise. The skeleton bit into it and started to chew...while Jack could hear it chewing. It moved so flawlessly. 'This game really is something else,' he thought before hearing a *gulp* and the voice from earlier. [/url] "You will be a part of this world," the skeleton spoke, its lipless mouth matching the syllables perfectly, "But I am not. I am merely an Outsider. An Outsider Looking In." The letters "OLI" appeared over the skeleton in red. "An outsider...and your teacher. I will grant you form in this new world...but only if you are ready. Are you ready?" A dialogue box popped up over "JackHammer," with two simple choices: "Yes" and "No." Jack thought for maybe...a third of a second. "Hell yeah, let's do this!"
Can't say that I've watched a lot of vampire media, but Spike from Buffy is an obvious one for me. In a completely different way, Andrew from I, Vampire. Yeah, yeah, the comic book fan picking a comic book vampire? In just one short series, I fell in love with Andrew's character. Breakout character of the DCnU, in my opinion.
I like this theory. It kind of fits with his personality. I mean, it's not very KH-likely, unless it was Terranort he was gambling with and Terranort suggested the bet, which Drulo (as I prefer to think his real name is) takes, not expecting the serious ramifications. Fun fact: there's a casino named The Luxor.
Goldman it. And for all the money we pay to use it, you'd think we would have some say in this.
I'm hoping they avoid the "friendship > all" ending where MX realizes he's wrong and redeems himself, sacrifice or otherwise. My guess is that it's going to be similar to Ansem, Seeker of Darkness where he's enveloped by Kingdom Hearts after achieving some final (and probably non-human) form. The only difference being that it will be instigated by Sora and company with Sora being the main conduit (or maybe the only one). I can see something like Menos said where time is instead changed and MX travels back (YOU INTRODUCED TIME TRAVEL, SQUARE ENIX, YOU. DON'T PIN THIS NONSENSE ON ME) and avoids the dark path, creating a new universe where Heartless never invaded, Nobodies never existed (did they really not exist before the apprentices started experimenting?), and the next series of games is in this new timeline with a new enemy...but Sora still somehow remains the main character. I'm still going for "I KNOW IN MY HEART. KINGDOM HEARTS IS...LIGHT!!!" type ending.
My only god is Mercury. Someone should tell "them" what the word "unexpected" means.
I could have told you that you weren't going to find him.
I had one of my mom's cat...but she wasn't a shape-shifter...just a cat.
I wouldn't say it was raunchy, but it's happened.
I've always started NaNoWriMo, but never got past the first few days. One thing that's stopped me is doing something completely new and finishing it when I can't even finish my own actual work. Well, that and lack of time. Since I have plans for my own sets of comic books, though, I'm going to write a work taking similar elements but being unrelated and original from my comic book idea in order to get me started on my comic books for the future.
Sure, that's why.
I've heard that. I've also had people that I actually know be in my dream but look like someone else.
Tried that. It doesn't show up then either. Anyways, everyone's in~ We'll start at the end of this week to give more people time to join, if anyone else is interested, and to give me time to finalize the starting details.
AND WE'RE MOVING ON, FINALLY He sighed, letting some of his stress out, but not enough of it. "I never said my decision was to kill you, Luce. What kind of monster do ya think I am?" He asked, offended. 'Even if that monster is the one I thought I would be if this ever happened..." Lenny said nothing else for the rest of the drive. After they pulled into the garage, Lenny let the vehicle run a little longer as he closed his eyes and laid his head back for a moment. "You aren't wrong..." he said, quietly. "Our powers...are so much more powerful when drinking Demon Blood...so why...shouldn't we..." he didn't finish the question before he pulled out his keys and opened the door. "Come on. I got something to show ya and the others." Adam spent the rest of the drive singing along to his music and telling the others stories of his life as hunter. He avoided the more gruesome details and the more grand-scheme events, like those related to Azazel, but he figured that they should know exactly what to expect from monsters. Ghosts will trick you, Demons will read your mind and lie, Vampires would rather kill you than turn you, etc. As they pulled up next to Lenny's jeep, Adam saw the leader of the Acolytes leading Luce into the Roadhouse, signalling for them to follow. 'So she's...getting a second chance? Or...are we watching him off he-' he couldn't finish the thought as he started following them. "Come on," he told the others, not looking back.
I read years ago about "Geek Problems" or something and one was not having any idea how certain words are actually pronounced because you never hear them aloud or use them often. Anybody have any words like this? I found out a couple of days ago that I've been mispronouncing "Posthumous" all of my life.
That's my guess. At least, for the Captain America movies primarily while mentioning them/showing them briefly in the other movies.
Which is understandable. And thankfully, they've shown more of the actual organization such as technology and other agents (not to mention Hill in the first episode and Fury in the second [or was it third? can't remember]), but I was hoping for a lot more SHIELD than just the one team that Coulson leads. It was even mentioned how they choose their own operations and aren't handed down missions from superiors. There's not enough...organization structure in the show for my personal tastes. Granted, those are my personal tastes, but it's still what I was hoping out of the show.
SHUT UP. I KNOW YOU HAVE
