I suggest .hack, it is very deep (even confusing almost at times) and there is plenty of it. 3 animes, 8 games, and even more magna, .hack is one of my abosolute top animes.

I'm having flashbacks with the Enigmatic Knights. Kind of reminds me of when Dual Wielder was thinking of leaving the family after multiple fights with Xarend. Dual Wielder did eventully come back, but I ended up kicking Xarend out, because he caused about 90% of the family's fights.
