I like those two theories most. That would make the keyblade a little similar to the ring in LoTR, which 'channelled' Sauron, except that the keyblade would interact with hearts or spirits instead of one person. I'd like to think that the keyblade's alive. But I'd also like to think that some ships in sci-fis are alive. Even though they're not, but they have a feel to them of life that we sorta impress on them.
