I reckon the second. It didn't seem too cliffhangerish, even though dramatic things happened at the end. Sora was for a while reunited with his friends, and he beat ansem, so it mostly seemed like an ending. the kh2 ending summed everything up, but it makes me think of the first option XD WHAT WAS ON THAT LETTER?!?!
