Whether it's graphics or just being really well formatted, yes. If it's all plain text default everything I probably won't bother with it. It's the effort behind it. There are Graphic Shops that offer to make an RP opening post pretty so even the effort to just request something is nice to see.

I do it because I enjoy graphic making and it usually looks nice. More put together, more effort put in...I really like aesthetics. It's not just RPs I use banners and such for. Everything must be beautiful. (｡’▽’｡)♡

Always. I think it's nice. Same reason, really. It also helps, in my opinion, because you associate the image with that person. When it's above the post it kind of helps you put a 'person' to everything that's being done without you forgetting what they look like since not everyone describes the character's appearance too often aside from hair and eyes.

I don't really care as much about music. I'll listen, if I feel like it. I would listen more often if my laptop wasn't likely to explode. If everything is running well then I'll click. I hate it when it's embedded, though. It lags, even if it's in spoilers. I prefer a link.

If an RP has music in the opening post it doesn't really influence if I'll join or not.

That, paired with the fact that I have very particular tastes = I'm more likely to make than to join. Also, sometimes I see an RP that appeals to me but it's made by someone who's inconsistent and likely to just drop off of the face of the earth which is never fun so I don't bother to invest myself.

2. I prefer Original to Non-Original because I like full creative freedom. I don't like playing characters that already exist or being confined to someone else's creative work. I like the twists and turns that come with being original and also the freedom to do what I want with a character or a work. For instance, if I have a really good experience in a role play and want to make a story or a Visual Novel / Game / Radio Play out of the work I've created and expand upon it, I can do that without it just being a fan-project-- being because it's mine. I also have unlimited creative freedom to move the story in any direction or do anything with my characters.

I found out like early last year or late 2011 that I really just don't like playing existing characters. It's uninspiring and annoying to me because I have to think 'what would this character do' 'what would this character say'. I understand what Myst was saying earlier about resonating with a character so deeply that you're emotionally attached. Somehow, though, even with my favorite animes, games or characters--I still feel trapped in a character when they aren't my own and I hate that feeling.

So I don't bother joining non-original things anymore. I know I won't stay active or enjoy it. ;c Also why I'm so bummed out that KHV barely has any Original RP creators, haha.
