I really liked the way the Mandarin was portrayed in the movie. It was a great twist of an adaptation. I knew something was up when the voice changed between trailers (specifically "they will never see me cominnnggg" became more...theatrical), but still didn't see it coming. Not to mention that Killian was the real Mandarin of the plot. I was disappointed that aside from taking the credit for terrorists act, there was no connection to the Ten Rings (or actual rings of any significance as you could see "Mandarin" not wearing them at times). The fact that there's a real Mandarin connected to the Ten Rings, however, that Slattery was unknowingly making a mockery and imitation of is a nice add-on, especially considering that they're apparently pissed...though why they never made a point of it until after Slattery was arrested makes me think this is simply Marvel reacting to the bad feedback of the Slattery/Killian switcheroo. It also makes you wonder whether or not Killian knew of it and used that persona specifically (maybe as a failsafe against Slattery if he was compromised? let the real Mandarin take care of him?) I still liked my version of it better (but what fan doesn't?): Slattery became the legitimate Mandarin while wearing the magical rings and regressed to his crazy, drug-addled self when not wearing it. The rings were alien technology that AIM found and gave to someone "easy to control" after (incorrectly) guessing that they're Chitauri tech or something in order to have a figurehead bad guy. So Mandarin was a legitimate threat with alien tech-powered magical rings, but controlled by Killian who found Slattery on the streets. Iron Man 3, the movie. Not Armored Adventures (or any of the other cartoons).
All Hail the King, a Marvel One-Shot on the Thor 2 DVD might change that. From wikipedia:
Pretty sure that Thanos is going to have a similar role as he did in Avengers as a behind-the-scenes bad guy that the main bad guy works for (in this case, Ronan the Accuser and Nebula). *adopted daughter. And if I remember correctly, Nebula (blue-skinned, head-shaved Karen Gillian) is his granddaughter. I'm pretty excited for this. I've been keeping up with it since it was first announced, specifically because it was a Marvel movie about characters that I knew next to nothing about. In fact, when first announced, I didn't think I had ever heard of them, but when doing some backtracking, I saw Star Lord and Drax a couple of times when Richard Rider (favorite Nova<3) was still alive and shortly after his demise. Besides that, I had never heard of the rest of the team until the movie. Gamora and Rocket made an appearance in the new Nova's series and I loved Rocket in that. Also, recently, this iteration of the Guardians appeared in All New X-Men so I guess I'll get to see the whole team in action next month. Though, I learned today that the current iteration of the team is fairly brand new (six years old, I think? Very fresh for comics) so it's a bit surprising that they're getting a movie so soon (I may be wrong, but I think the first issue of the new team came out the same year as the first Iron Man movie). I can't wait to see the Nova Corps in here (lol John C. Reilly's a Nova? did not see that coming), though I'm a little disappointed in their live-action uniform. I tried to keep away from looking too far into them (which is very difficult for me) aside from their recent appearances in the comics I currently read (Nova, All New X-Men, and a couple of Avenger-related titles) in order to go into this movie as ignorant as possible. Minor possible Spoilers about the movie and possibly future Avengers movies ahead: Though aside from Thanos' obvious connection, the movie isn't supposed to tie into the Avengers' side of the MCU HOWEVER Iron Man joined the team in comics and his Deep Space Armor was released as an action figure for Iron Man 3...so there's a theory that he'll make some sort of appearance tying the two together, not to mention that supposedly the original extra credits scene for IM3 was supposed to be Tony in space or something similar. On top of that, they want to do a Planet Hulk movie for Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and the Guardians may be a way to do that (otherwise, I don't see how they can do a Planet Hulk movie). Thanos wants the Infinity Gauntlet and the five gems that power them (we saw the Gauntlet briefly in Thor 2 as well as one of the gems, another being the Tesseract) so the Avengers and the Guardians are at least a little bit connected. Ah, Pratt does such a good job as Quill. Really disappointed that we didn't get to hear Bradley Cooper as Rocket (the one voice I've been waiting to hear!) or Vin Diesel as Groot (though since Groot is apparently restricted to "I AM GROOT," I can hear it in my head), but hell, it's only the first trailer.
So labels are only okay when someone's proud of it?
Any special reason why?
As much as this disgusts me, I find this part very troubling: How is death threats to people a valid reaction to the murder of an animal? Regardless, this is horrible. I understand that they may see it as necessary, but I wonder how costly it would be to transfer these animals to other facilities (other zoos, for example)?
Shhh, don't let Fox News know that it's satire ...or what satire is.
Dinnnyyyy, I missed you! I had no idea you were going through that! That's...wow. Well, I'm glad you're okay (jesus, I'm still like speechless at what you've been through).
If I ever say I "want" a drink, it's soda. "Need" a drink, it's alcoholic. ...I don't drink that much soda these days. Four Lokos was never that much of a big deal for me whenever I had it.
No, that's called "religion." ...no. He said most, especially the ones from Squaresoft, are easy to follow.
Everytime I see a VGN post, I have get distracted by his signature for a few minutes
How about a phrase instead of a title that's relevant to the series? I personally like "Mark of Mastery." Chaser is...very outdated. Yeah, it's changeable, but Chaser is just irrelevant to even use as a default, in my opinion.
Meanwhile, I'll take my coffee.
Makes sense, but...he looks like someone made a bad cosplay costume at home and then the costume was placed into the game. The head doesn't match the rest of his body
This game looks really good from this one trailer ...BUT KNUCKLES DESIGN, OH MY GOD. The others are pretty good, but Knuckles'...torso, I guess? wtf.
Ha I get it. Because of Tails. Funny funny.
Muggle Quidditch is a real thing.
My cousin was playing a Game Boy Advance game on his cell phone while I watched it on his TV. Granted, I was high, but it just made me see rainbows.
I personally think your current avatar is better.
Accepted as long as there's a very good reason why creatures specifically listen to her. Especially Dementors as they have only been shown loyal to those who offer them the most victims.
