... curious is me.[DOUBLEPOST=1393817878][/DOUBLEPOST] oh god, Rocafort<3 Have you liked his page on Facebook? So many pictures.
Nah. 3883-6840-7605 I actually thought about getting that.
Started off with Dream Drop Distance and Pokemon Y. Just wanted to share that with y'all. (it's red. I love red.)
This is what I needed from the internet today. I'm done.
I read the actual issue. I knew she was going to be in the Eternal series, but I didn't think she'd be in that specific issue. I literally yelled when I saw her.
My girlfriend's and my first cat died in an accident and we adopted a little kitty named Dexter so she wouldn't be alone (it was just her and Bartholomew, the first cat, and she would wake up crying because she could swear that she would hear him jumping on the counter before she would go get him only to remember that he wasn't there anymore). Dexter immediately became attached to her and vice-versa in a way that Bartholomew and I bonded (we loved them both, but you could easily tell that Bartholomew was more my friend and Dexter hers). Unfortunately, we discovered early on that Dexter had some terminal kitty disease and had to be put down; he could live but would have to have his stomach drained weekly which were expensive and put him through pain, especially at his size (he was so tiny...). When we put him down, she stepped out because she couldn't bare to see it. I stayed in the room, but made myself not see it...until I looked at the last second when he stopped meowing and noticed how limp it was. It was something neither of us got over, but every now and then that image just pops in my head and I have get teary-eyed. It used to be worse (when Bartholomew died, I wouldn't speak to anyone but my girlfriend for days and missed work. For Dexter, I only missed one day but when I would think of how he looked, I had to step away from the registers to regain myself). With Bartholomew, it hit me harder. I buried him myself, wrapped in Kadi's favorite blanket and with his favorite toy. I kept the towel we used to dry him after baths and would sleep with it (as a 20 year old male). To this day, I can't change the cover of Facebook that's me and Bartholomew. After Dexter passed, the towel symbolized both of them to me and I would talk to it as I slept. Our third cat, Kallie, died of a flea anemia. We got her from the same agency we got Dexter from (the guy was nice. He was told to give us a discount on a new pet, if we wanted one, after putting Dexter down since they "gave us a sick kitten." He didn't charge us at all. Supposedly, the shelter is going through a complete revamp since we ended up with two sick kittens from them, but we don't think Kallie got sick until afterwards). I remember falling asleep that night squeezing that towel telling Dexter and Bartholomew to take care of Kallie. Really, the only thing that has helped us is time. I was really scared to get any more pets because I had three die and it took so long for me to not think of myself as kitten-cursed. I originally felt like Dexter was meant to be a replacement for Bartholomew (considering he looked so much like him), but Kadi was just in shambles over him. None of them were ever replaced. They all hold a special, but different place in our hearts and we still just sit and talk about them, especially how different they were (seriously, they were so different personality-wise. It's scary how much variety there can be in cat attitudes). Yes, getting another pet eventually helped ease the pain, but with us, it used to tear us apart when they would do something that reminded us of the others (Dexter looked so much like Bartholomew that I couldn't bare to look at him for too long). I'm sorry you had to go through that, Llave, I really am. I know it hurts, but like I said: time. Hold on the good memories (I remember Dexter falling asleep in his bowl and Bartholomew biting Kadi's sister after she woke him up or how Kallie would sleep on my shoulder) and if you have some object -like that fur- cherish it. I still have the towel. If you ever want to just sit and talk about your litter-butt, I'm here and always willing to share stories...I'm a little teary-eyed right now lol.
I enjoy your posts because of your theme<3 also, woo for Stephanie finally being introduced in the new 52!
It doesn't matter what we vote; Jube already picked the correct answer. (Haven't played all of them, but...Kh2, maybe).
Regardless, a child being able to make a Dementor listen to her by providing one potential victim is a little far-fetched, I would think. No set number as long as you're comfortable controlling however many you make and can keep up with them. I would four or five (assuming one or two professors), but that's flexible~ (also, welcome back~)
Link to Role-PlayRules Obvious rules: no godmodding or powerplaying (it may be difficult in this sort of RP. Just be reasonable); be respectful, don't break rules, respect KHV's rules, etc. Romance is PG-13, swearing is allowed to the extent that KHV allows it. All characters must be based off of an existing superhero-related character. You can use actual comic books, movies, non-comic book related movies (Hancock, for example), and video games assuming they have a superhero/villain-type character, or even other media. You are allowed to base a character off of more than one character as long as one of them is the MAIN inspiration. Inspirations (who you base your character(s) off of) can be in power-set, background, or anything similar. Doesn't have to be an exact copy. That said, all characters are OCs based off of someone, so get creative and show some liberty with your character! You can base your character off of someone who already is being used, but make them different than the previous character somehow. This RPs version of mutants/metahumans are simply called 'Metas.' You are allowed to use other dimensions, alien planets, the supernatural, etc. to make your character as long as its not too crazy. Keep in mind if you introduce one of these, anyone else can use it (and don't go making a last surviving character of a race just to avoid someone using a similar character). There will be a team of superheroes (a la Avengers/Justice League) formed soon after the beginning, same for villains. Your characters are not required to join either of these. I reserve the right to make more rules, but I will tell you in advance. I may break my own rules -or ask you to- for the sake of story. Break my rules without my permission and there will be consequences (CONSEQUENCES, I SAY). Character Template Username: Alias: Name: Alliance: <Hero or Villain> Appearance/Age: Costume (not necessary): Background/Personality: Powers: Equipment: Inspiration: Other: Accepted Characters HeroesUsername: Boy Wonder Alias: Recluse Spoiler Name: James Wayland Alliance: Hero Appearance/Age: 23 Costume: Click? Background/Personality: James always knew that he would enlist; it was a family tradition. Hoping to make his father and grandfather proud, he enlisted into the army as soon as he could. Finishing his basic training with flying colors, it wasn't long before he was deployed across seas. One day, during what should have been a simple recon mission, his unit fell upon a group of insurgents hoping to turn the war using magic to draw upon the powers of nature. Unknowingly, his team engaged the group of would-be mages, throwing themselves into the ritual. Imbued with the "nature of a spider," James was one of many given beast-like powers. However, he blacked out during the battle and awoke to find his entire unit dead, as well as the insurgents. His superiors quickly jumped at the chance to weaponize him, outfitting him with gear and throwing him into the front lines. He fought with pride until he found himself fighting against the zombified remains of his fallen comrades, reanimated with their new powers but turned insane by another sect of mages from the same circle. After killing them for a second time, James went AWOL, traumatized by the experience. To honor his comrades, he decided to become a hero in the states (hoping also to avoid being arrested for desertion). He kept the gear given to him by the government, but modified it to fit a spider theme and was soon dubbed 'Recluse' by the media for his spider-like abilities and isolated-type personality. James is serious, though a bit arrogant. He's not the type to follow orders anymore, nor is he willing to accept help. He prefers to be by himself. He has an unrivaled sense of duty to his fellow man. Powers: Extreme agility, strength, speed, and reflexes due to his spider-powers. Recluse can also crawl on surfaces. Though he can't turn completely invisible, he is able to blend into his surroundings, similar to a chameleon. He is able to send a toxic shock through his hands, which he calls his "Spider Bite." Though it isn't poisonous like the bite of his name-sake, it sends an extreme electric shock to his target, able to cause paralysis at its strongest. Equipment: Given to him by the US Government, his 'hero suit' is made to allow his powers to function through it. The lens allows him to switch to night vision and infrared vision. His gloves are able to shoot a thin wire over extreme distances that allow him to swing over terrain as well as to keep enemies tied up (but he has to retract it as its limited). He keeps smoke pellets on him which he uses in combination with his camouflage to disappear more easily. Inspiration: Spider-Man Other: Username: Boy Wonder Alias: Azazel (the Scapegoat) Spoiler Name: Cassidy 'Cass' Herondale Alliance: Hero Appearance/Age: 19/a few million Costume: Click Background/Personality: Millions of years ago, during the dawn of man, two angels descended from above with the task of watching over man. The two angels, desperately in love with each other, decided to stay on Earth with man, a crime heavily forbidden by their creator. The two angels, Azazel and Gadreel, hid among the primitive humans and attempted to blend in. They succeeded for many years until Gadreel decided to rebel against their creator and taught man the craft of weapons and warfare. This advancement quickly caught the eye of the other angels and they descended to retrieve and punish the lovers for their transgression. However, Azazel knew nothing of the plan and was abandoned by Gadreel, left to take the blame. Azazel was cast to Purgatory as punishment, forbidden to return to either Heaven or Earth. Thousands of years alone in Purgatory reflecting on the betrayal of its lover, Azazel became a being focused on vengeance. Escaping Purgatory by forsaking a physical form altogether, Azazel bound itself to a human boy during the Medieval Times. The boy and Azazel, through an uneasy alliance, became one and the boy was cursed with immortality, living forever only to house the rage of Azazel, the fallen angel. Now, in modern times, the boy -Cass- has yet to find Gadreel, though he has gotten close. Until he can exact Azazel's revenge, Cass spends his free time by enjoying the trivialities of society and using Azazel's abilities for his own entertainment. Vain and apathetic, Cass sees no reason to entertain superheroics. He has seen civilizations rise and fall and the only things that survived were ideals and himself. However, he finds fighting supervillains fun as it allows him to vent out Azazel's frustration. Powers: Merging with Azazel has turned Cass into a fallen-angel. He has been granted immortality, though he can still be killed through injury. Cass is able to transform into the blue-skinned, horned Azazel at will. As Azazel, he has the agility and strength of a demon and a healing factor to boot. He has the ability to breathe hell-fire and, as a fallen angel, is tuned to mystic forces. His most used power is the ability to summon weapons (though not firearms). He calls this ability "Gadreel's Gift." Equipment: Gadreel's Gift allows him to summon weapons such as swords, axes, tridents, bows and arrows, spears, etc. Inspiration: Blue Devil (from DC) Other: Villains Username: Boy Wonder Name: Calais North Spoiler Alias: N/A Alliance: Villain Appearance/Age: 30 Costume: None Background/Personality: Born to abusive parents, Calais was living on the streets in his early teens and fighting for his own survival. He learned easily enough that he could always be physically beaten but not outsmarted. He soon found himself in a street gang and before long, they answered to him. Brawn was never an issue to him; determination was. It was only a matter of years before Calais was able to use his smarts to turn into an entrepreneur, becoming one of the richest men in the country (and youngest). He been under investigation for several corrupt business practices, but never convicted. While supervising one of his company's experiments, Calais was caught in an incident that granted him his powers. Briefly considering a life of spandex and crime to turn compliment his business, but decided against it and keeps his public image of a professional -albeit shady- businessman, but he does not hide his powers. He has come at odds against many heroes, but has stood his ground and carefully portrayed the confrontations in his favor. He's very well-spoken and polite. The epitome of determination, resolve, and ego, Calias is known for never backing down from anyone. His most trusted employees are members of his old street gang, to which he still has connections. Powers: While experimenting with liquid nitrogen and how different kinds of radiation affect it, an explosion expose him to the radiated liquid nitrogen which altered his genetic make-up. He is able to reduce the heat in his surroundings dramatically, causing temperatures to drop instantly. He is able to freeze nearby objects and withstand extreme cold. He has been seen, at his apparent strongest, creating snow and ice sculptures. Though he can mostly control his power, he politely refuses to touch people as his skin always feels like "dry ice," though he will shake hands with gloves on "for professionalism." He is extremely intelligent and tactful. Equipment: Billions of dollars at his disposal as well as his company's resources. Inspiration: Captain Cold and Lex Luthor (from DC) Other: Username: Boy Wonder Alias: Wyvern Spoiler Name: David Porphura Alliance: Villain Appearance/Age: 21 Costume: None Background/Personality: At age ten, David discovered that he was a Meta when he accidentally blew up his bicycle. The child of an abusive, alcoholic and single dad, David used his ability to brutally murder his father before escaping to the streets. He was discovered by Calais North, an up-and-coming businessman who introduced David to a street gang to escape the authorities. Idolizing North, David grew to lead the street gang -The Basilisks- in North's stead now serving as a liaison between North Enterprises and the Basilisks, which serve as "hired help" for North. Due to David's refusal to don a business suit and work in an office, he has politely refused employment at North's company, but has used North's resources, specifically his money, for the Basilisks. While North and David have been able to avoid the public knowing of how well-connected they are, North and David allow the public to believe that David has turned the Basilisks into the deadly street gang they are now. He is a wanted criminal; his followers have named him 'Wyvern,' a name he enjoys. Powers: David's Meta powers manifest as kinetic energy which he can transfer into non-organic objects, causing them to explode. The size of the explosion depend on the amount of energy he puts into the object as well as the size of the object. He is able to transfer the energy through a conduit (if he's holding an object and the object is touching another object, he can cause the second object to explode). He is well trained in martial arts, being tutored by experts hired by North at his request...tutors that he had no problem killing. Equipment: Wyvern fights with a collapsible staff that he is well-versed in. He also uses the staff as his main conduit for his Meta powers. Inspiration: Gambit (Marvel) Other:
Note:: This RP is based off of comic books and superheroes (like 80 percent of all my RPs). It's original, but the characters are going to be based of existing characters from comics (or movies, video games, etc). Marvel and DC themes will obviously work, but lesser known ones like IDW, Image, Dark Horse, etc. Original superherohttp://kh-vids.net/forums/original-rp.92/create-threades from other media (i.e., Hancock) can also be used as a template. Characters from other media such as video game may be adapted with my approval. Link to OOC/Discussion Thread Story Sometime in the not-so-distant future, people with extraordinary abilities are abound. The abilities range from small physical enhancements to god-like 'superpowers.' These special abilities have been gained from technology, genetics (humans born with special abilities are named "Metas," a sub-species of human), magic, or even physical conditioning. Some use their powers for their own selfishness and have been dubbed supervillains. On the other side, the ones who use their gifts to defend the world are hailed as superheroes. Others may hide their abilities while a rare few use their...enhancements for different purposes such as business, entertainment, or even sell them to the highest bidder. In addition to superhumans, we have become aware of other dimensions, other planets, magical beings, and even other Earthly-beings that have shattered our view on the world, what is real, and what is only myth. Superheroes have allied themselves in the past, but there has never been a set team of the greatest heroes to avenge the Earth, promote justice, or simply always come together under a mutual cause. Simply, there has never been a need...until now. Above many great cities, small fleets of an invading alien army have appeared without warning. The greatest of this ship is high above the city of Olympia. Alien warriors are descending from the ships. While humanoid in shape, they are gray-skinned with bones protruding from their bodies. They may seem barbarian at first, but their weapons are deadly and high-tech. They are faster, stronger, and difficult to kill as well as able to fly with their technology. Their leader has made no appearance, but his army is laying waste to our planet. They are able to tear down entire buildings in less than hour and normal bullets simply bounce off. It is up to the superhumans to band together in the middle of this war and save the planet.
Two years. It got pushed back to 2016 because Snyder wants another year to perfect his vision of it or something. Coincidentally, Edgar Wright's Ant-Man took its original air date of May 2015
Difference is: I'm not persistent lol. There's also the fact that I don't spend nearly as much time on the site as I used to (several hours a day is now a few hours a week).
After quite a few rejected applications, I think I'll skip applying this time around. Still, good luck to everyone else. Can't wait to see some new colors around here~
I know, but it isn't good for me either (ESPECIALLY NOW THAT I FOUND OUT SUGAR RUSHES ARE MOSTLY JUST PLACEBO). I know how bad it is for me. I'm still going to do it.
So is the soda I'm drinking. Like I said, I know how bad it is, but I'm still taking the risk, despite understanding just how virtually nonexistent my chances of it not destroying my body somehow are.
I hope so, too. I hope that Marvel plans to do crossovers with their material. Avengers, in a way, was a crossover between the Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and Hulk movies. I hope that Guardians will spawn its own set of movies (COME ON, NOVA. Not sure about the others, though. I don't think the characters are strong enough to hold their own individual movies just yet) but at least one sequel that furthers Thanos' plans and finally a crossover between Avengers and Guardians versus Thanos. The MCU universe is already freaking huge with the Avengers movies, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the 5 upcoming Defenders Netflix mini-series, and now -what is most likely going to be- a set of Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Oh, I knew he was in it and who he was playing (though I don't much about Dey. Simply that he's the Abin Sur to DC's Hal Jordan), but the fact that Reilly was given such a role in this type of movie was surprising to me and actually seeing it...is unsettling (not in a bad way necessarily). For those who want to hear Bradley Cooper as Rocket, here's the first released audio clip for the Raccoon. I know some people are disappointed about the lack of an accent, but I'm disappointed in how deep it is. I expected it to be a higher pitch, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. The following page also has a segment about the rest of the cast (including some nice action footage), but no more spoken lines (aside from Quill's). http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/...accoon-guardians-of-the-galaxy-movie/5645297/
Yep. Have since I was 15 (so 7 years now). My habit has picked up dramatically in the last year-year and a half. I'm at a pack (20 cigarettes. And they're 100s) a day now. Part of the reason is that all four of my roommates are also chronic smokers with only one who smokes less than me. I've quit a couple of times, but never for long (although I've quit other things permanently). I don't plan on quitting again until I start trying to have kids (or accidentally have one), assuming I make it doesn't kill me first (/morbidhumor). I know I shouldn't with under-developed lungs and a definitely less-than-healthy body; not to mention that my mom is in her early forties and is about to lose all her teeth from it (and I smoke more than her and started way before she did), but...I'm addicted. Yes, I know how bad it is to my body, but I accept the lazy convenience of the immediate stress relief over the more-than-likely future damage. I tried E-Cigs once, when they first started becoming popular, but didn't like them. The one that I had was supposed to emulate Menthol cigarettes (which are all I smoke) and a couple of hits off of it gave me a pretty bad headrush so I've just stuck to the real thing. I try to be respectful about it. If I'm smoking and walking, I avoid doorways and other people as much as I can. When I sit outside and smoke, I try to seclude myself from where people tend to travel and always keep the smoke away from kids and elders as much as I can help it. I don't smoke in my friends' cars or houses unless they specifically permit me (and even then, only if I know that they're smokers as well. Whether they're okay with it or not, I'll admit the smell sucks and I don't want that smell sticking to their things). That's pretty much my whole justification for it, even though it's not much so...yeah, I'm addicted to it (seriously, about to smoke one right now).
