Stopping his chewing for a moment, Sam nodded towards Lex before pushing himself from the wall on which he was leaning. There was an all-too literal burning in his throat and mouth. The A-Classer shrugged and resumed his chewing, before spitting out a smoking piece of a paper. It was smoking and wrinkled, as if it was drying due to heat instead of wet from his spit. He stepped on it, as one would an exhausted cigarette, and looked down at the remaining ash. He spread the ash around with his foot before looking around for an authority figure. Not seeing one (something he considered strange), he turned his attention to Lex.

"How's it goin'?" He asked, his tone flat. He turned to face down the hall and gestured. "How 'bout a companion for the trip to class?"

has all videos unlocked. Even if I delete data and start over, I'll get a notification early on saying even the secret video is unlocked. Like...before I even get out of Traverse Town. It's not a big deal, but it's really tempting to spoil certain stuff for myself. Anyone know a way to completely delete the data?

I have a business trip to help open a new restaurant of our franchise in Louisiana in late-May. Pretty much, I'm working 6 9-hour days for two weeks plus a 9 hour drive there and 9 hour drive back. Not to mention, I'm being paid overtime for that, get free food, free housing, plus a $320 check just for going (well, technically for any things I'd need down there, but it's up to me to use).

After that, I have a job offer from an old boss of mine (restaurant's almost identical to the one I work at now, just simplified and more niche). I'll be starting at 2 dollars more than I'm making now and be an assistant manager of a new one opening up at the end of the year for salary (I did the math. Roughly $6.65 more than I'm making now).

The problem is, my current manager has mentioned making me a shift supervisor and eventually a manager within the next two years...but that's not a sure thing and even if the shift supervisor pay is more than what I'll start at the new place, I'm pretty sure manager pay would be less than what would it be at the new restaurant...so I'm definitely taking the job.

I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO TELL MY CURRENT MANAGERS. They love me. They freaked out when I almost had to quit last year and that was before considering promoting me. Should I tell them now in advance or wait until before I leave (I'd give them more than a two-week notice, but still).

Well, personally, I like it because I can use it on my laptop. When I browse KHV on my laptop, I'm more immersed in the entire forum whereas if I'm on my phone or tablet, I'm simply looking for content (what's being said. Who said it doesn't mean as much to me if I'm only using my phone because I'm probably only using it to kill a few minutes, an hour tops). Personally, I consider the forum more catered to computers than mobile devices, along with many other sites. If a feature doesn't work for mobile devices, should it not be allowed on a computer?
By that logic, are thread previews available via smartphones?

I'm still up for the hover idea. It looks simple enough if someone could actually do it. Using KHV on my old phone was extremely difficult; I would have avoided clicking someone's profile JUST to see their past username if I had to (not to mention a lot of people DON'T fill out that field for some reason). My current phone actually lets me use KHV easily, but I would still prefer if my computer could hover over someone's name even if my phone couldn't.

Nope. I've not the finances at the moment, the space, the time, nor the knowledge. However, if I did, I don't have the need for one, really.

KHV's the only forum I use, but back when I would use a lot, I would have loved this.

So there's no chance of Nights' suggestion of a alt-hover being implemented? I actually liked that idea.

I can see it now: someone wants a nice read. They go to the Writers' Nook and click random thread and can filter it by...prefixes for example, if they want a specific genre. Or maybe go to one of the KH sections and learn something new. Kind of like a StumbleuponKHV button.

I always felt that two weeks was short. I'd support increasing it to a month, maybe.
With a theme (I know it's not your primary reason, but still addressing that): like everyone said, you can change everything but a username for a bit and then have the username changed when it's time. Honestly, if the fad doesn't last more than 14 days (assuming you came up with the idea the moment after you changed your name to something else), then what's the point?

I think it happens too often as it is. Some people change their names every. two. weeks. I personally don't interact with enough people to care who everyone is every time I come back from a hiatus, but it can be annoying. Thankfully, most -but not all- frequent namechangers have something where I can figure out who they are (usually their sig) or change update their username history or someone calls them by a common name in a thread or VM on their profile...but sometimes it's just a hassle to figure out who's who. Personally, I've had a few (not many, maybe three or four) instances when I really wanted to tell someone something like ask for their specific help on a graphic issue or collab on an RP or something, and couldn't find them so I either got someone else or gave up...only to realize I saw the original person regularly and had no idea they were who I was looking for.

To add to what was added about the clutter in the name change thread: I agree. Usually if I do want to figure out who is who and their sig doesn't reveal it, that thread's the first place I look (I used to also look at it first each time I logged in to see who changed recently), but half the time it feels like half of the posts are requests and the rest is clutter.

Also, some people like to post in advance (A couple of days before their two weeks is up) and I can understand how the request can be forgotten or accidentally changed early, which I find unfair.

All in all, two weeks isn't much and if you can't wait that two weeks, I just think it's a bit impatient and you take your username a little two whimsically.

This sounds like an interesting idea. If you could put a filter on it (what sections if you want something specific [creativity corner] or a time frame if you want something recent), it'd be even better. A random thread button, though, just seems...amusing to have.

I vaguely recall reading somewhere that Methane vents on the ocean floor is the source of ill luck on the Bermuda Triangle. It messes with buoyancy of ships or something, causes the ocean floor to reflect on the surface (so the wreckage of sunken ships is seen on the surface as "ghost ships"), and if it rises, it can mess with a plane's electrical system. Not sure how accurate that is, though.

It's really sad and distressing that a plane can "disappear." I know that they've proven that two men who boarded together used fake passports, but that's apparently a common thing for people to travel there with fake names for "business." They've also established that the plane was in flight for (at least) four hours after they lost it and have been asking other countries if any unidentified aircrafts have entered their air spaces, but apparently, none haven't.

Strangely enough, I haven't read much of anything with Justice in it (is that the Vance Astro version is he just older in that picture?).
Though I'm starting the newest New Warriors series so let's see how that goes.
