Yeah! They may not function the same, but I plan on using most of them
I've gotten one friend to play it and am trying to get one other to play it. It was actually one of the main inspirations for Snakewood.
Your puns all suck. I hope this thread SynKs.
I don't think the next stop is for another few miles.[DOUBLEPOST=1398484381][/DOUBLEPOST] Yeah, what he said.
Allen Tor, you're accepted~
I love this game!
Sorry, but a few things: a) The event (if you're talking about the actual outbreak of the Zombie virus) was over 200 years ago so the bio doesn't make sense. b) What does the wristband do? (Mega-evolve her Pokemon, maybe? /jokes) c) There are no immune characters this early on in the RP. d)she doesn't have to be better clothed than that <-<
Main Thread: http://kh-vids.net/threads/snakewood-necro-apocalyptica.145609/ The Scares The name given to the supernatural monsters that now roam the Earth. There are six main types: the zombie virus that results in Zombies, Vampires, and Werewolves; the evil Spirits tainted by demonic energy; the Mechs created by humans but corrupted by the Demons; and the actual Demons themselves responsible for everything. Zombies, Vampires, and Werewolves are collectively known as the "Infected" as are their victims. Those possessed by Spirits are known called the "Possessed." Zero's army is composed of all six types of Scares, though they are all controlled through different means. In order to defend themselves against them, humans have learned different ways to injure and occasionally kill the Scares. However, the world still seems to belong to Zero and his ilk. Through the demonic energy that resulted in the apocalypse, Zero is able to control the environment, in addition to his army, in minor ways including causing writing to appear on surfaces, changes in weather, or causing the terrain to appear alive. Zombies Werewolves Vampires Spirits Mech Demons Zombies - The most common type of Scare and the first to appear. Once thought to be the result of a biological virus, Zombies are instead humans infected and influenced by Demons. Using Zero as a conduit, Demons spread their life energy into the human race. The "virus" causes the host body to decompose and rot from the inside out, killing them. The zombification can be instant or take a matter of hours depending on how far infected the host is before death. When the host is reanimated as a Zombie, the humanity and personality is replaced with the psyche of a Demon. Zombies are then driven by an extreme hunger for flesh though it isn't required for their sustenance, maintaining none of their intelligence or prior personalities. Zombies are extension of Demons and respond to sound, light, and smell. Most of them are unable to run and instead walk. They can survive most types of injuries and dismemberment and the only surefire way to kill one is either decapitation or some other form of blunt trauma to the head. In order to become infected, the blood of another infected must enter the bloodstream of a potential host. The host then becomes incredibly violent and develops a taste for meat while the body starts to slowly rot. Infected will develop a higher pain tolerance and start to sweat blood. Zombies can be controlled by other stronger Zombies and all Zombies can be controlled by Demons and Zero from afar, though Zero has the highest authority. The virus can infect animals, but they can only carry the virus; they do not turn into Zombies. Unlike Werewolves, Vampires, and Spirits, Zombies are able to come in different forms. The most common form are the Walkers, stereotypical Zombies described in this paragraph; other types will be described as the story moves along. Hunters - Hunters are personal vanguard of Zero. They are the only Zombies capable of individual behavior and personality. They cannot speak, like regular Walkers. They have no hair, eyes, nose, or other facial ears. However, their mouths have grown allowing them to take bigger bites. They have a grayish skin which is the result of their skin constantly growing over itself as it rots, giving them a scabbed appearance. Hunters can run extremely quick, leap higher than an human, and are extremely strong and agile. They are even known to wield weapons, though this is uncommon. Hunters are usually sent out in small squads by Zero for specific purposes, though it isn't uncommon to find some in charge of Walkers. It is unknown how they are made. Hunters are known for appearing in towns and abducting humans. Unlike other Zombies, Hunters aren't driven by their hunger, though they still feed. When they appear, they track down their target, simply point to them, and beckon them to come with. If the target doesn't comply or if the Hunters are met with force, they then become hostile. They are incredibly durable and difficult to kill. It is best for their target to comply and be taken in order to save others. It is not known what happens to those that the Hunters take. Hunters can apparently exert their will over Werewolves, Vampires, Spirits, and certain Mechs through their Demonic connections. Werewolves - Though animals cannot be zombiefied, they can be infected and carry the virus. The virus mutates into a different strain once in a predator's bloodstream. Once the mutated strain enters a human host, the human has the potential to be reanimated as a Vampire after death. However, if they do not die before the virus completely takes hold, they become a Werewolf. They lose all sense of humanity and regress completely to an animalistic, primal nature. Wounds from the rotting completely heal and all fat burns off, leaving only muscle. Werewolves are extremely muscular and bigger than humans. Hair grows faster, covering their bodies, and their nails and teeth become claws and fangs. They are no longer human and have the heightened senses of an animal. They tend to travel in packs and have a huge hunger for meat, human or otherwise, however, they are disgusted by Zombie meat. Werewolves can still infect others, but with the Werewolf/Vampire strain of the virus. If a Werewolf dies, they become a Zombie, though they retain some of their physical attributes and capabilities. Unlike a Zombie, a Werewolf can be killed by any major injury, but due to a healing ability, they are extremely difficult to kill. For some reason, they become more hostile and harder to control in the moonlight. Vampires - If a human is infected with the Werewolf/Vampire strain by an animal and dies before the virus completely turns them, they are reanimated as a Vampire. Vampires are revived without their soul and morality, instead being driven by a thirst for blood, though the reason why they prefer blood over flesh is unknown. However, they are not above actually eating humans. Vampires are quicker and stronger than humans, but are physically outclassed by Werewolves. However, they retain most of their intelligence and personality, albeit a twisted a version of the latter. They have the ability to heal if they drink blood, making killing them difficult, though they are more susceptible to injury than the other Scares. Vampires They are very sadistic. Vampires are completely hairless, have pointed ears, fangs, and sharpened nails. They don't possess most of the religious weaknesses and strengths, but are known to be hurt by both fire and sunlight. Although their heart no longer beats, it still holds a great source of blood; thus enough damage to a heart can greatly weaken a Vampire, allowing for them to be killed more easily. As they are already dead, Vampires do not become Zombies once killed. Spirits - Unlike the three Infected Scares, Spirits are more of a natural phenomenon. They are the literal ghosts of the deceased. Due to the breach in our dimensions by the Demons, they are able to come into our plane of existence. However, because of the great amount of demonic energy, the ghosts have become tainted and turned into malicious Spirits. Spirits can speak, though not directly, more like a ghostly wail. They act like a wounded animal, completely blinded by rage and fear, lashing out at anyone that crosses their path. The longer a Spirit stays in our plane, the more they act like a human (though they are still evil). They are entirely intangible, unable to be touched by most weapons or humans. They are able to possess living organisms (Humans, Vampires, and animals). The Possessed show glowing red eyes and constantly flowing hair, though the stronger Spirits can hide the Possession. While in Possession, a Spirit's host retains a small degree of invisibility and intangibility, as well as being able to hover. Spirits are shown to be telekinetic, moving things without having to touch them. Spirits have an electrical current running through their 'bodies,' causing interference with nearby technology. Because of their electrical nature, if they pass through a living person without possessing them, the person suffers a literal shock. Similarly, Spirits are shown to reactive fallen Mechs by passing through, giving their systems a jump. A Spirit's weakness lies in the electrical nature: iron causes a disturbance in their own bodies, meaning they cannot pass through it. The only way to kill a Spirit is by using iron in a way to simulate death such as continuously stabbing them; the shock of dying again literally kills them again. It is unknown what happens to Spirits that die. Mechs - Unlike the other Scares, Mechs were created by humans. Early into the Zero Years, they were created to fight against the initial Zombie outbreak. However, their electrical systems were affected by the demonic energy that resulted in the Zombie virus. This caused a flaw in their programming causing their targets to shift from anything containing the virus to anything NOT containing the virus (i.e., humans). The demonic energy somehow keeps the Mechs' bodies from rusting or weathering away, but they deactivate when not in the presence of a target. They activate and become incredibly hostile when a target is in the vicinity. Coming into contact with a Spirit temporarily activates a Mech if there are no targets around and some stronger Zombies, specifically Hunters, have shown the ability reactivate them as well as exert minor control over them. Mechs come in different variations which will be described throughout the story, but the most common are humanoid with several protruding blades, meant for decapitation and slicing. Demons - The main cause of the apocalypse. Demons exist in another dimension and were previously unable to physically exist in our dimension. However, through unknown means, they were able to use Zero as a conduit and let loose their evil energy in the form of the Zombie virus, causing the apocalypse. After the Zero Years, several Demons were shown to have officially broken through to our dimension, living here as giant, seemingly immortal monsters. They are known to speak and are in leagues with Zero. They have varying abilities and shapes, unique to each one and have shown no weaknesses. Fortunately, they have shown little interest in humans once breaking through to Earth, but do work with Zero when he asks. Like Zero, they can control lesser Scares. Rules Character Form Accepted Characters Rules No powerplaying, godmodding, etc. Obey all of KHV's rules, be nice to others, follow all of my rules, etc. Nobody else can be a Slayer or any of the Scares yet. Technology is almost lost. There are still some forms of technology around, but there is very little long-range communication. The technology that does exist can be slightly futuristic (use your own discretion). Obviously, due to the Demons, there is some form of supernatural energy that can be called magic but no one should have access to this right away. Weapons can be anything that fit the theme of Zombie apocalypse such as blades, firearms, or bows. Ammo is unlimited unless you go overboard; then there might be a "jam." Other medieval-styled weapons that may be unrealistic (scythes, axes, spears, etc.) are also allowed (it is a fantasy RP!) Any non-Slayer or non-Scare character (so pretty much everybody at the beginning) should only have whatever weapons you can carry so I will allow more than one firearm in addition to bladed weapons or something. Like I said, whatever they can realistically carry. You're allowed to be Infected, but keep in mind that there is no cure so your character can officially be killed (...and then reanimated and killed again). Anything that isn't described in the actual RP will be described or revealed throughout the story. Early on, for most things. Several different things have inspired this and I have taken selective samples from each as a sort of...tribute to the genre. So anything that sounds familiar probably is, but isn't the exact thing you may think it is (so Buffy isn't this type of Slayer). However, if you're inspired by something and want to use it in some way (a similar character, plot-point, term, etc.) I wouldn't mind at all! Simply ask me first~ As the god creator of this RP, I reserve the right to break, alter, or add any of these rules. If I do, it is for plot purposes and I will let you know if I do~ For story purposes, I may allow you to do play with one of the rules as well. There is no rule 10. I just like even numbers. Username: Full Name: Age/Appearance: Background/Personality: Weapons: Other: Username: Boy Wonder Full Name: Lucas Bennett Age/Appearance: Seemingly early 20s? Background/Personality: Bennett is a drifter, traveling across the world, never staying in one place. As such, he doesn't tell anybody much about himself and leaves his past shrouded in mystery. He is fearless and doesn't back down from any Scare as he has plenty of experience killing them. He is solemn when not in battle and very confrontational once in battle. He is definitely a loner, showing up in towns only long enough to clear out Scares and rest before moving on. For unknown reasons, he rushes to save anyone in danger from the Scares. He is very knowledgeable in most things Demon-related. Weapons: -A Scythe that can fold into itself. -A double-bladed Axe with a collapsible handle. -A Pistol -Shotgun -A Crossbow that reloads automatically. -A large Dagger. -A glowing Amulet that hangs around his neck. -A Tattoo on his neck and one on his cheek that serve specific purposes. Other: He's a "special character." Username: Boy Wonder Full Name: Skylar "Sky" McCoy Age/Appearance: 23 Background/Personality: Sky grew up under an obsessed father. When he was just a child, his parents were relocating to what they thought was a safer town. On the way, they were attacked by a horde of Scares, one of which latched on to Sky's mom. Mr. McCoy tried to save her by shooting the attacking Zombie, but missed and accidentally injured his wife. Before dying, she was infected. After the attack, while rushing to her side, father and son realized she was becoming a Zombie and one of their companions shot her in the head. The experience traumatized Sky. On top of that, Sky's father blamed himself for missing the shot. He forced Sky constantly to train his marksmanship from that day forward. The result was Sky becoming extremely accurate with both bow and pistol. Sky currently lives in a small town with his father, though their relationship is strained. He is...kind of a dick. Rude to others, arrogant, and seems to constantly be angry. He's known for his sharp wit. Due to the trauma from his mother's death, Sky tends to panic if the situation gets out of control and becomes unpredictable. Weapons: -Compound Bow and Arrow -A Pistol -A Hunting Knife Other: He works as a 'Watchman,' one of the guards that watches the outside of the city from atop the walls. Username: Prince_of_Hearts Full Name: Sasha Kira Age/Appearance: 21 (She's better clothed then that =3=) Background/Personality: Somewhat of a strange woman. One second, she's having a friendly, humorous chat with a random person, the next second, she's a cold-eyed killer, mowing down the Scares with little difficulty. She travels a lot, but also stays if the company is nice and/or if a place needs the help to fend off the attacks. She's an extremely friendly person, but knows when to shoot a cold glare at one's direction. Don't get on her bad side. Her bite is worse than her bark. She was on her own, separated from her mother and younger sister while on a trip halfway across the world to meet up with some of her contacts when her return trip was no longer possible. She hoped that she could find them once more and rejoin. The last was that they were evacuated to an underground bunker when a sudden attack broke their defenses. She hoped that she would reach that destination once it was the appropriate time. Weapons: A fancy assault rifle Two Bladed Revolvers Handy Combat Knife A Katana Special Wristband that gives statistics and a small alert system (about 15 feet) Other: Wears a charm with a small picture of Sasha and her family Username: Allen Tor Full Name: Alexander "Al" Garde Age/Appearance: 20 years old. He has brown hair that hangs just past his chin light-but-tanned skin and dark green eyes. He's 5'3" and weighs about 115 pounds, all of which comes from muscle. He always wears a pair of dark brown pants that end just above his ankles, a black vest and a backpack with retractable glider wings, when he's outside the city he also wears a pair of mechanical gauntlets which will be discussed in the weapon section. he never wears shoes and so his feet have become as tough as leather. Background/Personality: Al is a cautious man by nature, he knows the Scares are tougher than he is and prefers to avoid them when he can. Despite that he's had numerous close brushes with them in the past, causing him to gain confidence in his ability to survive them. He's a master climber and freerunnner, as well as having a great natural ingenuity. These talents, coupled with his experience dealing with the Scares, makes him a master of avoiding and escaping from them. He often makes trips outside the city to gather items, either for clients who want him to bring them something specific, or to collect materials fro use in his own inventions. He's currently trying to build a flightsuit that will allow him to travel through the air, where most of the Scares can't get him, and his dream is to live in a floating city where he and others can be safe from the Scares permanently, he has no idea how to accomplish this dream though. Weapons: Whenever he's outside the city Al wears a pair of mechanical gauntlets, their main purpose is to help him get around, but they make decent weapons if he can't simply escape the scares; the fingers have claws on the ends that can scratch stone and the bracers have high powered grappling hooks built them. Other: Makes a living by getting things from outside the city for other people. Username: Aiden Pearce Full Name: Rigel Kent Age/Appearance: 28 Background/Personality: His family had left the safety of their town to search for a better refuge when he was young. Only he survived. He too would have soon met their fate if he had not been found by a man who took him in. What he learned from this man was not only how to survive but how to thrive in a world like this. So, when the man died, Rigel took up his business. Dealing in parts of the Scares for both the black market and the relentless(and entirely hopeless) search for a cure or immunization of the virus. Weapons: -A semi-automatic rifle with a multipurpose scope attached. -A machete. -A shotgun. Other: His job keeps him out of the city most of the time. Also, he's morally ambiguous. Username: Moksha Full Name: Ken Halzer Age/Appearance: 18 {♙ & ♙} Background/Personality: In the simplest words Ken is a problem child. From a young age things never seem to go his way and it was only made worse with the constant threats running around. Fortunately he was able to survive due to his resourcefulness, making use of a steel pipe as his first means of self defense. Years passed and Ken gradually became more of a scavenger, picking up whatever discarded items he found and finding some use for them. Since he spent most of his time alone, it take him a while to warm up to other people, let alone trust them. Weapons: Revolver ♙ SMG ♙ Steel pipe Other: The gas mask and spray can he carries with him are both things that he's found and taken with him. Username: Barakon-King Full Name: Baron “Barry” Tucci Age/Appearance: 25 Background/Personality: Baron is a bastard descendant of a once notorious crime family. His mother died while he was at a young age so he was forced to live with his father’s side, constantly being disrespected and mistreated because of his “mixed” blood and appearance. This caused him to become cold and introverted, and made his life into an effort to prove himself to his family, who had been reduced to robbing groups of survivors and shantytowns. At 19 he was sent off to Neostice to establish a business for the family to operate out of with a partner. He has become close with Evan, however, he hasn’t heard anything from his family since. Weapons: -An heirloom redwood cane from his father that houses a hidden blade. -Two .38 caliber revolvers -An aged military rifle, affectionately called a “Tommy Gun” that can switch between single, burst, and full auto fire. Other: Baron and Evan operate as hitmen under the cover of a business that helps reunite split-up family members. Because even in a time where people are hungry, homeless, and in need of each other, they’ll still want each other dead. Username: Barakon-King Full Name: Evan Katsuru Age/Appearance: 22 (Without his Visor) Background/Personality: Another mixed bandit baby, Evan grew up constantly on the move with his family, learning to survive from former hitmen and Yakuza who rarely gave him room to make mistakes. Even though he was brought up as lesser than his relatives he was still taught that his half-blood made him better than others, so he remains prideful and has a bit of a biting personality. At about 16, after an attack on the camp his family had set up Evan sustained an injury to his eyes that cost him his vision. His father was fatally wounded and his dying wish was for his son to see. The family’s remaining fortune was spent on Evan’s treatment, a visor-like attachment that gave him the sight of a machine. Soon after, Evan was sent off to meet with a former-rival family’s child to start a business. The remnants of his family, still wounded and sickly since the attack were too weak to follow and he was forced to leave them to die. Weapons: -Evan’s multipurpose visor offers normal sight, zoom, thermal, and vital readings. The tool can also perform visual assessments with risk probability. -Sasayaku , a family relic. - 9mm pistol w/ silencer Other: Evan has a fondness for hunting and nature and will sometimes sneak away from business to go explore outside the city.
De caelo cadit, mediis tenebris Omnes tenebrae lumen, ut moriatur Cor tuum et exitum tuum, cupimus, Per manus nigro mortui resurgent* It all started at Zero. Whatever his name was originally, he discarded it for the title he earned: "Patient Zero," the first Zombie. It must have been around two hundred years ago that the zombie infection spread from within him. Completely aware of his nature, Zero was able to control the zombie virus and lead its victims. Within a matter of months, he had covered over half of the world with his undead army. Governments started to fall within the year. To fight back, humanity created combat machines, hoping that the inorganic nature of the machines would prevent infection. Unfortunately, the machines were corrupted once the real source of the so-called "zombie virus" came to light. Demonic entities, from another plane of existence, had broken through to our dimension by using Zero as a conduit. Unable to exist in our dimension, they instead let their demonic energies loose on the world. The evil energy rots most organic material and infuses the corpse with a Demon's psyche, creating what we call Zombies. In a similar manner, the energy interfered with the combat machines' (called Mechs) programming, causing them to become extremely hostile towards the very humans that had created them. To make matters worse, when the main strain of the virus infected an animal, it mutated into two other strains. Instead of simply turning into a Zombie, humans now faced the risk of also turning into a Vampire or Werewolf. Before long, the breach of demonic energy allowed the ghosts of the fallen to manifest on Earth...however, the ghosts were corrupted by the demonic energy that was now abound in our atmosphere turning them to malicious Spirits. Against the combined threat of Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves, Spirits, and Mechs, the war for humanity was short. Within a decade of the initial outbreak (called the Zero Years), all governments were crumbled and civilization was, for lack of a better word, gone. The year is now 246AZ, 246 years after the seemingly-immortal Zero successfully claimed the entire world for his Zombies and the Demons controlling him. The human population is at 9 percent of what it was before the war. What is left of humanity has been consolidated into several small cities, each surrounded by large walls to protect them from the "Scares." Technology is all but lost, only scraps of it remain. Citizens of the world live their daily lives in fear of being infected and turning their loved ones, being killed without infected by the Scares, or being captured by one of Zero's personal "Hunters." No one knows what happens to those who are captured by Zero's Hunters, but it is assumed that they are, at the very least, turned into one of the Infected. Throughout the last few decades, however, there seems to be hope. Rumors of people dubbed "Slayers" have surfaced. These so-called Slayers are said to be immune to both infections and possession. Supposedly, they are able to take out whole groups of Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves, Spirits, and even Mechs single-handedly. Who these Slayers are remains a mystery to most as no Slayer has ever been identified, nor their true nature determined. OOC Thread: http://kh-vids.net/threads/snakewood-ooc.145610/
I don't know enough about Bionicle to tell you I'm interested right now, but the two or so movies I've seen years ago, I enjoyed~ I'm about to post one later tonight. It's a post-apocalyptic RP paying tribute to the genre by taking elements from several different sources (Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Walking Dead, Pokemon Snakewood, DMC, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West are the main ones) or maybe I'm just lazy. It takes place over 200 years after zombies have successfully taken over the world. The zombie virus is the result of demons breaking through to our dimension. The virus mutates causing werewolves and vampires. Robots that were created to fight them have instead been corrupted and turned against humans and evil spirits are also abound, along with the demons that started it all and their...let's say surrogate, a man named Zero. One I haven't been working hard on, but haven't been playing has to do with deities housed inside people. The people can summon the deity and turn into them (Etrigan<3). I just haven't decided what I want the setting to be, but I'm leaning towards an academy that teaches how to use the deities.
I've never had a bad experience at Gamestop. They have always been really helpful and nice. Maybe...two of the six or so I've been at didn't really care, but the rest were staffed by really cool people.
Not really related and I'm sure this has been said before but why was Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns not called Lightning Strike Thrice?
Needs some sex.
I'm against fracking. Happy birthday, Kelly who I don't really know.
I'm watching it right now though Google spoiled something for me B | Btw, today's Batman Eternal debuts Stephanie Brown.
I just read Original Sin #0 and it was really good. I mean, it focuses on Nova and Uatu and reveals Uatu's past (why he Watches. Not sure if it's ever been said before). There's a connection between the two of them that really pulls at the heartstrings.
I was already premium. I had over six hundred when someone bet me that I couldn't reach premium in three days without spamming. AND I DID IT. Long before RP posts counted.
718? That's cute.
XenForo is just Xehanort's other Nobody... or something.
