I have one too~ I love talkin' about capture cards
To be fair I'm kinda the same way, I don't mind trains but public buses freak me out and I don't want to have to take them. But yeah, I guess you've just gotta deal with driving in bad weather. Sucks.
Is public transport an option? It's obviously a lot more convenient to just drive yourself, but on the days when the roads are bad, a public bus might be an option to consider.
@Illuminaudio my school also doesn't always close when it should. Thankfully they cancelled today due to snow, but if they didn't I wouldn't have been able to come in until around 2:30 because my car was snowed in. Driving to school yesterday was pretty unsafe, I skidded a few times--thankfully it was nothing bad and nobody was around me, but it's still not fun. That said, you're in college which means that attendance isn't... as big of a deal. It varies based on the professor and the college policies, but if you explain to your professor that you didn't feel safe driving to school that day, I can't imagine that they'd penalize you too heavily.
Agreed. Personally I think it's unlikely for 1.5 to come to Microsoft consoles given that it's not easy to port between the PS3 and the 360, and because there may be licensing issues involved, but if this at the very least notifies Microsoft and Square that Xbox fans want to see KH titles, that's significant... and hey, it can't hurt.
It's never really clear in the Kingdom Hearts universe whether weapons have cutting/slicing abilities. Many of the Keyblades we see work on a blunt force basis; Riku is one of the few characters with an actual 'sword' of sorts, that is seen slicing through things (buildings)... but when he whacks someone with it, it doesn't slice through them. I think the only time we see a person impaled or sliced is when Axel stabs Vexen in Chain of Memories. I don't think there's any kind of logic to it. That said, within the Star Wars universe, lightsabers can cut through most things. If someone came at Vader with a Keyblade, it is possible that he could slice through the Keyblade--unless the Keyblade is a vibro-weapon (per the SW universe).
Done.
Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig? Yeah, I saw that one out of order, my sister watches them as they air so I've seen a few I'm not up to yet. but yeah, her constant development is why I'm always excited to see her in an episode--I want to see where they take her character. I liked Simon & Marcy, emotionally I preferred I Remember You but I am really interested to learn more about the history/lore of Ooo.
See that's something I love about PB's characterization (and everyone on the show, really)--they're multi-layered. Peebles, for example, is like Finn in that she has a strong sense of right and wrong (she's basically the head princess & is always sending Finn on his quests), but unlike Finn she can lose sight of that, and struggles with moral grayness. Cloning is shady moral territory but she does it in Goliad because she's afraid of her own mortality. I haven't reached the episode with all the details but she asked Flame King to inprison Flame Princess because FP is a threat to everyone. This is highlighted in her interactions with Marceline, who mocks her for being all sweet on the surface--but there's something far more complicated beneath. PB is incredibly powerful and she has to make really tough decisions as such. She seems all around to know what is right and wrong, but she's learned through the years that sometimes she has to push those boundaries for what she perceives to be "the greater good"--and sometimes she goes too far (or doesn't go far enough). Romantically I think PB is also really interesting. Finn is obviously into her for a while, and at times she treats him very platonically, or she suggests something more is there (this is especially apparent in the first episode with Lemongrab, and hinted at in the one where she tries to tear apart FP and Finn), calling him "my knight" or something along those lines. Then in the episode with Broco, it does seem like there is something more there than just loving all the candy people. And even if you don't think it's romantic, her history with Marceline functions similarly. PB seems to not only push people away because she fears it would interfere with her job as Princess (she says something like "sometimes you want to smooch someone but it wouldn't be right"), but also because she's unsure that anyone could ever be her intellectual/maturity equal, and is generally unable to understand and confront her emotions. She's also absolutely absurd and adorable, but I love seeing her moral complexity developed as the show goes on. The last episode I saw with Simon was Simon & Marcy, unsure if there are more ahead.
This is a really easy perspective to take if you've never been bothered by an issue... but I invite you to speak to all of the non-white people who never see a protag who looks like them, someone who isn't straight never seeing anything but hetero relationships, or a trans person at all. It's not that simple. It would be nice if we didn't have to discuss this, if gender, race, sexuality representation in the media were equal... but it's not, and this is an incredibly dismissive statement. If anyone is interested, I recently wrote an article about gender subversion & rebellion in The Hunger Games (i'm not really happy with it but that's neither here nor there). Here's a chunk of it:
I believe that Passion and Sanctuary were written by Utada with Kingdom Hearts in mind. I remember reading that one of her major sources of inspiration was thinking of time passing between three friends, how they've grown up and their relationships/interactions/lives have changed. I'm not sure whether Hikari was written with knowledge of Kingdom Hearts. Either way, it's important to note that neither songs are direct translations--lyrically, they're essentially different songs. The translated lyrics to Hikari do share themes with Kingdom Hearts (destiny, light/dark, the future, awakening): ( These, as compared with the lyrics to Simple & Clean, which I'm sure we all know by heart now ) ( Translation Source ) Point being, Hikari does fit in, in my opinion. When Kingdom Hearts was being released worldwide, however, Utada essentially had to write new lyrics that fit in with the musical structure of Hikari, which is an incredibly difficult process and was cited as one of her reasons for not renewing her contract with Disney. Personally I don't feel the lyrics to Simple & Clean are too out of place, but of the four songs, they probably fit the least. Both Simple & Clean and Hikari, in my mind, deal with moving from one phase of life to the other. Looking at Hikari through the lens of Kingdom Hearts, it seems to be Sora... You think ahead too much. Stop such a meaningless behavior. I'll eat a delicious dish today. We have a long future ahead of us. I don't know what becomes, either. Don't finish it. Revise it more. You should just film the scenes one by one.... who isn't really too concerned about the future, he likes just chilling on the islands and having his little adventures. Riku, however, has his head within the clouds, always looking to the future and wondering what's out there. He wants to seize life and figure everything out, and is seemingly slipping away from Sora for that reason. Simple & Clean presents similar themes, I feel ("when you walk away / you don't hear me say / please oh baby don't go" = Riku symbolically 'walking away' from Sora).
To add to what Patman has been saying, it can be really difficult to wrap your mind around an object being sacred or holy if you are not religious. My own beliefs aren't very set in stone, but for simplicity's sake, I'm an atheist. The idea that a book has some magical or spiritual quality to it just doesn't make sense to me (and, to be honest, I found the picture funny). To me, a book can be valuable--I have a century old copy of Pride & Prejudice that I'd be enraged to see covered in pizza--and it can have a valuable message, but the core idea that an object is divine... I just really cannot wrap my mind around it. When you really get down to it, to me, a book is two things: ideas and paper. And if you disagree with the viewpoints within the book, its value diminishes faster and faster. That said, I can accept that other people see an object that way, and therefore respect their viewpoint, and try to relate in some way. The picture is in poor taste and I really wouldn't take one like it myself. Though, it's important to note that a lot of things on tumblr are in ridiculously poor taste--and sometimes it's humorous and other times it's quite offensive. It depends on who is looking, really. It's also important to consider intent. Quran burnings are absolutely malicious, whereas this seems more like a fun jab (but again, that's to me). What isn't okay is how some of the commenters replied. Unfortunately a lot of non-religious people have a habit of acting very superior. I've certainly been guilty of it, still am a lot really. Religions like Christianity just fundamentally do not make any sense to some people--and I don't think faith is the type of thing that can be described, or understood by someone who hasn't felt it. Which, being offensive out of ignorance obviously still isn't okay, but I just feel like it's important to explain this.
You can get the following items from Treasure Chests in the sewers of Hollow Bastion: Esuna-G Firaga Ring Flare-G Float-G (Note: this is in the original release of Kingdom Hearts, I'm not sure if it's the same for Final Mix/1.5) You can, of course, get these from elsewhere, so it might not be worth it to break your neck trying to get through the maze. That said, my first few playthroughs of the game, I never knew that you could freeze the bubbles with Blizzard and use them as platforms. That might help you get to parts of the sewers you weren't able to reach before. You can also smash certain stone walls, but you'll need Beast in your party for that.
The thread is fine here, as we're talking primarily about Xemnas's Kingdom Hearts II form. If you'd like to expand the thread/poll to other characters, @O13 Follower , you can, or you can make a thread with new matchups (e.g. a Mickey vs. Yoda) within Kingdom Hearts Extras. That said, I agree with @Hexin -- they're too very different universes so it's hard to compare. Xemnas is a compelling option since he does have a wider range of abilities as y'all mention, but the Star Wars universe is a little more realistic than Kingdom Hearts. The Jedi are focused on swordplay and the Force. Anakin in particular is a Jedi Guardian, who are especially focused on their swordsman abilities. I think if you planted Xemnas and Vader and only allowed them to fight with their lightsabers (Ethereal Blades, I know. They're lightsabers), Vader would win. Xemnas's other abilities give him the edge, though. On a less serious not, I want to vote for Vader just because I love Star Wars, but I also love KH... it's like making me select which I love more. Yes. 1.5 is Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. II.5 will be Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, as well as Birth by Sleep Final Mix.
I agree, often it can seem like, in the Disney worlds, you're just running through the plots of the source material. Even sometimes when it's an original story in a Disney world, it just feels like going through the motions. This was, I think, one of the strengths of Kingdom Hearts II--a lot of the Disney world stories related, at least somewhat, to the larger plot of the game. It's a really minor thing and I know the scene can be kinda divisive, but an example would be when Jack and Sally turn into Sora and Kairi on the second visit to Halloweentown. It might just be because I like the Sora/Kairi ship, but it at least gave what happened in the world some connection to Sora and the overarching plot. A better example would be within Birth by Sleep--because have multiple heroes, we have the possibility for unique interactions there, like when Ven visits a world, then Aqua does, it's usually noted by the Disney characters. I'd love to see this taken further in KH3 because we have several Keyblade wielders running about now.
It's from the first game, but the reports from 11 onwards are only available in the Final Mix versions--which is why you might not be familiar with them (unless you've played 1.5).
Just to add to iwantedtoexplode's explanation, here's the text of Ansem Report 11: ( credit to the KH Wiki, tho I assume it's the official translation now that 1.5 is out ) It's important to note that these are written by Xehanort and not Ansem the Wise.
No estimate.
No.
