Try 24, it's very action packed, but very political/government based, dealing with a Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), in which Jack Bauer(main character) is hunting down quite a few ppl, and trying to imprson them, while in the meantime his family, friends, and entire working force is in danger. (It's an awesome show) Very action- packed, and an all around great watch :D
