First: Cool down, if it makes you frustrated then just leave it, there's no point in using it it makes you no good. :P Now, you drag the song you want to use with your mouse and drop it in the timeline in sony vegas, just below where the video is.

There is this program, deepfreeze, and it's used in schools, libraries, internet cafe etc. I'm not sure if they use that one too but it's the most common program used for computer protection. Usually when they install it they choose a folder that DeepFreeze won't touch when restarting, meaning you can put anything there and it will remain after a restart. You could ask the people in charge there what that location in the computer is, perhaps it's my documents or something. So next time if you save it to that location even after a restart you will still have the document. Sucks anyways though.

SOrry for the late reply, seems you've figured it out yourself. I would also recommend VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ It has its own internal codecs and you'll never need to install anything to play media files with it.
