Kirby pulled herself out from under the horse with difficulty, and grabbed more of the black pieces, threw them at the horsemen, and started inspecting their horse's wound.

She threw them behind her as hard as she could and wrapped her arms around Nox to keep from falling off the horse.
Kirby hesitated again, and still didn't throw them. "I can't..." she mumbled. "I don't want to kill anyone again." She said as a tear rolled down her cheek.

She hesitated at first, then did as Nox instructed. "it isn't going to kill them, is it?"
"What does it do?" She asked, searching through his bag.
"That's what you said before, but leading the men there isn't exactly going to help us," she ducked as a fireball whooshed past her head,"And I don't think they're going to let us go very soon." She shouted over the roar of wind.
"Where are we going to go now? We're practically going in the opposite direction." Kirby stated.
Kirby ignored his hand and climbed up on the horse.
