The gameplay is based on the last game you played. How awesome/horrifying is the result? >Dredd >Dishonored >You play as Dredd and Anderson, able to switch anytime you want >start from the bottom of the building >each floor is another level, you have to complete certain objectives, solve puzzles, or take out certain 'boss' gang members to ascend the floors >you can take out gang members however you want, using stealth, explosive rounds, etc >have access to all their weapons/powers >Dredd has access to all ammo types >Anderson can use her psychic shit to sense enemies or "hack" their minds and fuck with them 10/10 would purchase day one

http://www.vg247.com/2013/02/11/releasing-a-game-demo-can-cut-your-sales-in-half-warns-schell/ So it completely makes more sense to sell something to blind consumers and take advantage of their ignorance before their buyers remorse can set in. GOD FORBID THEY FIND OUT THE GAME IS ACTUALLY BAD AND ARE PUT OFF FROM BUYING IT, OR BETTER YET THEY FIND OUT A GAME IS ACTUALLY FUN AND GO PRE-ORDER IMMEDIATELY!

Maybe not, but it was very lazy and it honestly hindered my experience. I would go off on a new quest only to find the same damn cave 4 times in a row. It gets boring and leaves a lot to be desired. It's not all about the MC though. All those games you listed had more than one distinct ending, and they all had epilogues that explained how your decisions and choices shaped the world after the fact. That's a lot more than what can be said for DA2. DA2 took your decisions and threw them out the window and gave you one ending. There wasn't even an epilogue. Hell, decisions you could make in DA:O could result in a party member dying or leaving. I honestly disagree with this. A lot of Hawke's responses and such are a mere sentence because of the cost of voice acting. Everything is paraphrased and you get very few options in terms of what to say. It's not worth forcing us to be a human, especially when they could still easily kept the same voice for each race. I doubt it would have been a big deal... If it was, it could have been rectified with a little audio editing. That's true, but I still don't like the 'enemies drop from the sky and come in waves' thing. I prefer being able to scout out the location and devise a plan, then strike accordingly.
that blog is following me too :B
It's not a disaster piece like some make it out to be, but it was disappointing to me in a lot of ways. One of the obvious flaws is the continuous reuse of locations like the caves. Ugh. Another MAJOR flaw was, your choices honestly didn't matter. The end result was still the same no matter who you sided with. Orsino and Meredith still go batshiz crazy. They took away the ability to customize your party. I understand their reasoning but it was still annoying. They locked your character a human. No more race options. This pissed me off greatly. I haven't played in a while but these are some of the problems I remember bothering me the most. That being said, it does have great characters and it was really nice not having to agree with everything they said to develop a romance with them. The fast gameplay was a big improvement to the MMO-esque battle system in Origin. That reminds me, I kinda hate how the enemies come at you in waves instead being carefully laid out and having a nice big battle. It really made some the strategic options pointless.
