This is literally the premise of... nearly every Doctor Who episode lol. Hell, there's an episode called The Eleventh Hour.

But I mean, as a blanket statement I'm not sure I agree. The classic David / Goliath story is ubiquitous for a reason: we love to see protagonists overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. However, if it happens repetitively (or through some kind of deus ex machina), it can get quite boring and lose the satisfaction we usually draw from it. It's all about variation. Storytellers need to also tell tales where the hero doesn't always win (even going as far as failure), or where they must sacrifice something in order to reach an ends. As a writer (of crap fanfiction) I don't usually like to let my characters off easy, I love the themes of (usually self) sacrifice and gray mortality, but as a reader/consumer I do sometimes need a story where the good guys win.

I guess I am the only one who is going to say Kingdom Hearts? lol

I joined in February of 2006 and only made a few posts, it was the first forum I ever joined so I wasn't really familiar with how they worked (and I was 11 so pretty new to the internet as well). I stopped posting for a while, but then Kingdom Hearts II came out and I needed help beating Xigbar. That brought me back to the forums and I stuck around ever since, my reasons for remaining active change constantly though. I won't lie, sometimes it's just out of obligation and habit that I stay here, other times it's for the people, talking about Kingdom Hearts, that sort of thing. I've never taken an extended leave, only for vacations or to focus on schoolwork.

I dunno. I don't really think about it, I guess. I enjoy the time I spend here and that's really all I need to know.

It's nothing too exciting on the user end, I'll include a list of the new features when I announce the downtime.

I'm planning on reorganizing this forum (prefixes and all) after we update to 1.3. I don't have the specifics down yet so you'll have to be patient until then.

Agreed with Cat, it would be unnecessary and probably confuse a lot of people. The suggestions made about vBulletin are still useful as well.

I just learned about the comics, I hear they're quite good, I want to check them out. That would always be a possibility if it was ever cancelled.
I find it really hard to accumulate my thoughts on the episodes I watched just because there's so much, I really need to watch them over a few more times.

it does sound as though they're making a lot of changes and restructuring, I just hope the new leadership will see how unique and valuable Adventure Time is. From what I understand it and Regular Show are CN's most popular. I don't know what I would do without AT tho, that would be removing the light from my life
