And so it was that morning came and night fell upon the bustling town of Candlewood. Those at McDonalds were brought in for questioning, and police things that Jayn really can't describe in great detail from lack of experience and too many variables happened. Eventually, Lexi was tried as an adult, and the rest of the gang came together once more to be witnesses or something. She was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

Despite some of the tragedy, things left off on a pretty decent note ...

Natalie became a bit less naive and childish, and decided to stop watching her favorite show -- Dr. Who.

Alex learned to stop stuttering and became better at talking with girls.

Noëlle attended Alice's funeral, but never worked up the nerve to confess to starting the fire, though she did finally have a long talk with Bryan about it. She started her college courses at Fortissimo University, studying to become a composer -- scoring for films, though she's not too sure about it ... Her relationship with Bryan became stronger due to ... events, but with his slight change in attitude and some speculation from her mother after about a year, her attachment dwindled. Quentin and her kept contact through email and saw each other a few times, though nothing that serious. Just to shut everyone up.

Pierce decided never to go to camp ever again.

Maria worked on her jazz career and became a counselor at Camp Fortissimo.

Sophie didn't change much in the next two years, but she did grow feelings for Quentin and her best friend Iris. She still enjoys manipulating, breaking, and laughing at people, but is a little more humble about the world around her. *

Bryan became a little more cynical and less dense after becoming friends with a boy named Harley Jefferson, who seemed to teach him many things about life. His sexuality also became a little less straight and a little more colorful, if you know what I mean. He still treasures his relationship with Noëlle a great deal. *

Quentin sought out contact with both Sophie and Noëlle, and took up self-defense classes. He also attempted to get close enough to one of the girls to use Cupid's Brew, but the potion expired before then!

Julius became a professor at Fortissimo University. He and Noëlle established a close mentor-student relationship after the events of two years ago. Everyone else apparently stays the exact same or is not here to tell me what happened.

    WEATHERCLEAR SKIES 52°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/19/2013 - 6:23AM ✖『DAY』 05

The growling of the truck engine, Bryan's warmth, and a couple of hushed conversations filled the ride back to Candlewood. At some point, Quentin asked for her email and received it -- though she didn't make much of an effort to socialize other than that. So many things had happened that Noëlle had never thought she'd experience ... It was terrible. As she rested against her brother, she could only thank Fate that she was still alive and hope that the events of the summer wouldn't be too damaging to her mental health. As long as Bryan would be okay, she would be.

... But she wasn't sure if he would be.

They arrived at Fortissimo and Noëlle shuddered, releasing a shaky breath she hadn't known she was holding. Adrenaline shot through her and urgency sent panic flooding through her system. Her stomach flipped and as soon as Julius parked, she was opening the door closest to her. Her fingers wrapped around Bryan's, while her other hand unfastened both of their safety belts, grabbed her bag and helped shuffle their bodies out.

Thank you, so much ... She spoke to the eye-patch sporting counselor. Her eyes locked onto his. She wasn't sure if she had ever given such a sincere thank you to someone outside of family. After a few seconds of lingering, Bryan was being dragged further onto the campus.

Her eyes were wide, gulping up every drop of familiarity they could. It brought her comfort and stability. Far away memories of school drifted through her thoughts; Singing in front of large audiences in the theater ... The feeling of her fingers plucking gently away at the strings of her harp, the smooth ivory keys of the piano ... Studying in the glorious library.

And then, her thoughts faded into home ... Her mother, and even her father. Tears pricked at her eyes and she stopped in front of one of the payphones, wiping them away hastily with her free hand (bag strapped to her shoulder) while her other clasped tightly to Bryan's.

She was out of change, but luckily Bryan had a few quarters on him. Without saying much else other than a teary thank you, she dialed the number to her mother's cell phone.

No answer ... Ah, she would be at work now, wouldn't she? ... Somehow, Noëlle felt a bit resentful. Had her children had been missing after a likely-publicized series of accidents, she wouldn't have rested until they were back at home -- safe.

Of course, there had to have been a reason mom was attracted to dad ... She muttered without noticing, slamming the receiver down and not leaving a message. Her fingers gripped Bryan's tighter.

Then, she was dialing a new number. Joey's.

Joey was their neighbor. He was always willing to give them an extra hand, and had become a bit of a father figure for her over the past few years. As long as someone came, she supposed.

He answered, and promised to be there for them shortly, amazed at the sound of her voice and that she -- they -- were alright.

The ride back home was filled with questions she couldn't find the energy to answer. Instead of either of them riding shotgun, Bryan stayed with her in the backseat, their hands joined together tightly. Joey eventually got the message and went quiet, worry painted clear on his face.

Her thoughts wandered, but none of them were all too consuming. Instead, she found herself pressing her face into Bryan's shoulder and breathing him in, staying as close as possible and thankful that he was there ... if he weren't there ... She chewed on her bottom lip nervously and tried not to burst out into tears as the pulled into the driveway of their house.

Are you two going to be able to get inside? Joey asked, his smooth voice filling the silence from before. Noëlle had begun digging through her bag before he could finish his sentence, absolutely certain she had shoved a spare key to the bottom of the heavy thing before taking off.

    Aah-hah.

Pulling out the key, she nodded with a deep breath.

We'll be fine. Thank you, Joey. Her voice felt off, still, but that didn't matter. She gazed at Bryan for a moment, almost as to ask if he was ready. It felt odd, bracing yourself to return home -- but it felt like anything could happen ...

She stepped out of the car, and suddenly screamed, coming face to face with a pack of lions. What was going on??? Why were they here!? Violently, she kicked and slammed the car door shut again.

That didn't really happen, instead, she got out, holding Bryan's hand, and they made their way to the front door. Her heart swelled with relief as she jammed the key in with shaking fingers and twisted the knob.

The door was pushed open, and they were home.

    WEATHERCLEAR SKIES 54°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/19/2013 - 5:26AM ✖『DAY』 05

    I wanna go home, too.

His voice was still a bit less familiar to her, but he was here, and he was holding her, so she stifled her sobs and got herself together. The shame from before had melted away and her mind felt a bit slow. Nothing else mattered at the moment, except for getting home --safely -- with Bryan.

He gathered her up and brought her outside. The sound of sirens blared in the distance and her heart kicked up the tempo. James came into view and she glared, but the she noticed something was wrong ... She buried her face into Bryan's shirt, and tried to keep herself under control. It was a difficult thing, but she managed not to fall into another complete breakdown. There was just so much going on ...

At first, she was set on the tailgate of the pickup. Bryan held her hand and spoken with Julius.

Then, she was being moved -- tenderly -- into the back seat of the truck. Bryan scooted in next to her, and she stayed as close as their safety-belts would allow them. Quentin and Sophie ended up there, too. That left Natalie and Adrian to sit in the pick up.

... I've been avoiding this thread all morning. I'm really, really, really embarrassed about this but at least i really do love u.

Thank you guys for the generally positive comments. I'm sorry I am a bad example.

Thank you for asking. :C I'm okay today just sick and embarrassed.

I honestly didn't feel anything at all until it was time to go and I stood up ... I vaguely remember writing this, when I was laying in the back seat going home. I didn't go wild or anything haha.

    The wedding was aiight, tho.

I really did think of you before taking the first sip. ~ u ~

    * heart breaks *

Oh my goodness YOU GUYS. Quite a few people have stated their ~fear~ in contacting me. Please, nononononoonono. I'M LONELY. I MISS YOU. I've been pretty busy lately with life changes and whatnot but I still want to talk to you guys, a lot. I'm just really, really bad at things and feel REALLY awkward most of the time and obnoxious so I've been hiding out in the RPA. BUT I WANT TO TALK TO YOU. ALL OF YOU. ALWAYS. FOREVER.

Honestly tho you guys are really sweet and I'm still pretty sorry about this, but I decided not to delete it because it's not a lie or anything and you guys made me smile ... even though I feel really sick right now.

Oh, yeah. I can understand that. I mean, I've missed a couple of my own deadlines because of IRL things. I just feel like if things come up, we can all work with it and discuss it, as a ~team~. Obviously I'm never going to be like 'Your __ died? I DON'T CARE, GO POST.' Pfff. Hopefully no one else would be, either ... .-.

If the role play creator hasn't put up any sort of time frame, and it's based off of the role players themselves, I think it depends! Hopefully, someone should post when they /need/ to. I understand the feeling of being pressured to post when there's literally nothing for my character to do and no one waiting for them. That's no fun. But if someone's waiting on you, I think it's polite not to make them wait -- if you can post, and to try and post as often as you're able when the story is progressing.

It also depends on the story type and what's being required of you. I know that there are some role plays that progress tons every day because everyone is going back and forth. There are some where if you miss a day, you've missed out on a lot, haha. Then there are some where nothing really happens for like a week or two, so most of the posts are fillers and there are just a lot of ~variables~ in my opinion and I think the important thing is to not be the reason people are held behind / the role play dies, and to participate when you're needed and able.

On a non-individual basis, like this, I believe it's up to the role play creator. I am pretty sure you are referring to my role plays, 100 Days & Cupid's Brew, because I'm not sure if anyone else does this around that particular time frame.

In my opinion, whether it's 24-hours, a few days, a week, or once a month, it's up to the role play creator. That's their prerogative.

So long as they aren't publicly shaming anyone who doesn't follow through, or forcing people to join their role play with some freaky internet mind control, then I don't see a problem.

Role players are free-willed individuals. They can choose to join a role play, or not to. They can read a rule that says 'you must post every 3 days or you are kicked out', and think to themselves 'whoa, I have other responsibilities and can't devote myself to that' and not join. They can leave at any point in time. They can choose their priorities.

If, for example, they are in other role plays, it is their decision to ignore them. I personally have never told anyone to ignore their responsibilities or other role plays for mine -- ever. In my rules, I state very clearly that I will never harass them to post. Why? Because it's their choice! Their choice to be kicked out, their choice to devote themselves and their choice to join. I feel like assuming that a rule like that (one that is literally right there, no secret) somehow controls their actions, is belittling their ability to decide for themselves.

It is a rule that promotes communication, nothing else. If someone comes to me and says 'Hey Jayn, I won't be able to post for this week. I have a lot of tests to study for, but I'll be back ___.' Then they are excused. If someone misses the deadline, but comes to me and talks to me about it and the reason, they are excused.

In Cupid's Brew the rule is modified with an individualized posting schedule. The maximum time is five days, without in advanced requests for breaks or talking to me.

Though, most people post much more often than I require them to, regardless.

    TL; DR

I don't personally see anything wrong with these kinds of rules no matter what time amount it is because:

    > Role players are individuals and can choose not to join or what role plays to post in / what things IRL to do.
    > Rules can be worked around with communication, one of the most essential parts of a collaborative role play, in my opinion.

    WEATHERCLEAR SKIES 54°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/19/2013 - 5:00AM ✖『DAY』 05

Alexandra did the idiotic thing and killed him, rather than knocking him out like I suggested before we got into the truck.

For a while, she didn't want to move. They had been driving for a long time before they finally pulled into a bright gas station. It took her turning her heavy head to take in the McDonalds, and make out the garbled voices coming from all around her.

They were stopping, to eat. She didn't want to eat.

They were leaving the car but she stayed put, resting her aching forehead on the glass of the window. Her eyelids fell, just a for a few seconds, and then her stomach growled violently. She nearly vomited, but swallowed instead.

Something was wrong with Bryan. He was stuttering. She hated people who stuttered, but Noëlle couldn't hate Bryan. Instead, she was struck with a profound sense of terror at his instability. She hadn't ever seen him, the way he was now, and what was worse was that she couldn't do anything. He had always been there for here but ... What had she been for him?

Nothing ... Her voice was hoarse and unrecognizable. Her breath fogged up a fuzzy circle on the window.

He didn't need her. He didn't need her, the way she needed him.

    Fuck, she needed him.

Her body trembled and nausea consumed her. Finally, she opened the car door and dragged her aching body inside of the McDonalds, after grabbing a crumpled up twenty dollar bill from her bag.

She bought a snack wrap, and a lemonade. Then she took a seat alone and started to nibble on her food every once and a while. Her gaze switched from the food to Bryan, compulsively, over and over. He was there. She wondered if he was okay ...

When she couldn't bother with eating anymore, she was up wandering around the McDonalds. She stared at the newest toy they had on display, for the children, and then wondered if she would ever have kids. She waltzed around again, passing a sticky garbage can and wondering why people were so inconsiderate. It was disgusting.

Then, she took the steps necessary to reach the front counter. There was a tired looking, freckle kissed, red-head waiting to take her order. Instead, she asked if there were any phones to be used.

You can find a payphone right outside. She replied, uncaring, not even making eye contact with her.

Noëlle decided to stare at her until she was met with a confused and slightly-irritated gaze. She asked for change for two dollars and got it, then stepping outside into the cool air.

It wasn't difficult to find the payphone, and once she did, she called her mother.

    No answer.

Some kind of hallow, tired message was left on the answering machine; one in which she droned on and on about camp, the ferry, Bentley, and Bryan not being okay.

The answering machine cut her off before she was through and she slammed the receiver down. Her body shook again and tears begin to fall, even though she didn't immediately understand why.

Oh god ... A terrible, shaky groan left her mouth and tears fell from her dark lashes. Her arms wrapped around herself, nails digging into her rib cage as the tear drops became streaks down her cheeks. Her hands lifted her shirt up just enough to cover her nose and mouth and she sobbed into it. Bryaaaan ... She whimpered longingly, desperately, into the collar of her shirt.

Unable to be away from him any longer, she reentered McDonalds.

    Oh... my GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHD!

Instantly, she tensed, her eyes widening.

Struggling for air and panic on full, Noëlle found the source. A girl was crying over someone's body, then ... Two others.

    People were dying.

Please stop ... I can't ... Bryan! Her eyes found him, but she felt like she couldn't move. Someone was calling 911. The police were coming. She thought about David. Thought about how she had attacked him, in the car. Thought about that mist ... and everything else.

She wasn't able to call for her brother again so soon, as James came running through the door, large, sweat covered, and pale faced. He rammed into her and she fell back, into one of the exit doors. He pushed her out of his way and threw the door open, running for the car. Her body twisted under her and she sniffled, unable to hush the choking sobs leaving her pathetic frame. James ran for the driver's seat. He was wheezing and fumbling with the keys of the car.

    Had Bryan not ... ?

Bryan! She exclaimed through cries. I want to go home ... I w-want to go home. I want to go home. I want to go home ... I wan-want to go home !!

For those not in the Skype chat / not paying attention, we've discussed two options.

    1) The police are called and you stay behind. Coming into contact with the police results in your character becoming inactive, which basically means you're out of the picture until later.
    2) The police are called and you flee. This means you get into the car and go, hoping to make it back to Candlewood.

This is an individual choice. Choose wisely and think about what your character would honestly do in this situation.

    WEATHERCLEAR SKIES 56°! ✖『DATE & TIME』 6/19/2013 - 3:40AM ✖『DAY』 04

Alexandra did the idiotic thing and killed him, rather than knocking him out like I suggested before we got into the truck.

Sophie spoke and Noëlle's bottom lip quivered. Then, she closed her burning eyes and wrapped her arms around herself, folded against Bryan's stomach. Her face buried itself into his chest and she breathed in deeply, escaping for a just a moment, drowning out the sounds of a stupid argument and some kind of outburst.

    This was ...

The moment didn't last long and Bryan pulled away, leaving her cold and empty.

He spoke and she immediately knew something was wrong. It made her feel panicked and alert. Her eyes were wide, and when he told her to ride shotgun, she obeyed quickly. Her bottom lip started to burn from all of the chewing.

    This ...

She felt no more at peace, even with her seat belt buckled and her throbbing head resting. Just tired, but too nervous and paranoid to sleep. Too worried, about Bryan, to sleep. Something was wrong with him.
