The reasoning, at least in the US, behind only waiters getting tipped is that waiters make seriously different wages than everyone else. Minimum wage varies from state to state but I'll go by NY since I live here & am most familiar with it -- for a regular employee, it's $8/hr. For a tipped employee it's something like $2.50/hr. This is why tipping is pretty much mandatory, else waiters are being paid basically nothing. If a waiter works say a four hour shift then their employer owes them $10 for that shift. Had they been making a regular minimum wage ($8), their employer would owe them $80 (not factoring in taxes). If their tips for that day are not at least $70 (thus bringing them to $80 for the day), their employer is legally required to pay the difference so that they are legally making minimum wage. Cooks and hostesses are not tipped employees and therefore are not making that $2.50/hr. They do not rely upon those tips like servers do. Of course, labor and wages in the US is awful, so I can understand why they want tips and even rely on them, but it should not be at the expensive of the servers because of the latter's lowered wages. I am a ridiculous tipper. I always get to thinking about how the server may have been stiffed that day or how difficult their job is or how they just rely on tips in general, then get quite emotional and leave proportionately huge tips. I also used to go out with a guy who would harass the servers so I'd always tip them really well in that case too. It depends on the size of the bill of course, for an $11 bill (ty half apps) I left a $7 tip which is nearly 70%, obviously would not do the same for a $50 bill. I tend to go to small & cheap places (classy I know) in very small groups (no more than five ever but commonly two or three) so the bill never gets high but I do always tip well, even if the service is "bad." I work in food service so I know there are a million factors outside of your control that can give a customer a bad experience and often none of them are your fault.
Scroll lock does the trick
Oh okay, I had an iPhone 4 so that probably influences my opinion. But thus far my S3 has proved pretty sturdy
iPhone are in my experience very breakable. I've dropped my Galaxy S3 several times without problems, which is a consideration.
I'm the cute one (the one in the middle).
I don't know enough about how they work to explain why but any add on will slow down your browser and, from what I understand, Adblock is one of the more guilty add ons there. If a site you visit often has unbearable ads then you can leave it installed but if it's really slowing things down then uninstall it.
Okay so I think the member search is ****ed because it's telling me I can't find ppl with those names?? @Mixt @Nate_River @c
I like windows 8
Yeah we've played around with the idea a lot before. One of the really cool things we were floating was doing a kind of site-wide Let's Play, wherein we'll say like "okay everyone play Traverse Town these week and then we'll regroup to discuss it afterwards." Someone would also stream the assignment of the week in case people can't play it for whatever reason but still want to take part in the discussion. For the discussion we'd talk about things we'd found interesting or forgot about, things that maybe foreshadow something that happens later in the series, what bosses we had difficulty with, etc. If people have capture cards and junk then that makes it even better because they can share screenshots or videos Or if people aren't into that, then just streaming in general. But yeah it's a cool thing I'd love to get rollin'!
I actually don't really think commentary is too necessary. Let's say, for example, that I rated your post with the neutral "Agree/Disagree." If I have more to add to that then, well... shouldn't I just post that? That's not only a simple extension of the act of posting, but I feel it would encourage discussion, as someone else (or even the original poster) might want to reply to the points that you raise. Of course, there may be private comments that you wish to share, but for that we have profile comments & personal conversations. I agree that disabling the dislike feature because there's no way to limit it seems a bit extreme. I think the system is easy enough to monitor by the staff that, if we see someone abusing the dislike function (like giving out thirty in one day or repeatedly disliking every post that someone makes) we can just handle that situation. Obviously that created complications back when we had rep, but given that ratings have a public display, I think that would deter people from abusing the system. But this is a really great breakdown you've put together, Alex, and I've excited to finally see this implemented. I'm finishing up my semester right now so my life is crazy, but it'll die down considerably soon so I'll start playing around with ya after that, styling especially.
I have had both an iPhone and an Android, tbh I'm not too concerned with what others had to say about them, I wanted to try both for myself. I prefer Android and I think you would too, but I really urge you to just play around with both for a while.
Yeah I am catching up on it, most of what I've been doing is the hunting log and leveling my weaver
...
As I think I've said I already have a way to bypass HDCP but it'll be nice to not have to change all my cords around when I'm switching between capturing off my PS3 and my PS4. Definitely show us what ya grab~
It's quite possible the fan is unplugged from the mobo in some way, or otherwise dysfunctional. I'd recommend what Patman has said: see if there are any computer repair shops nearby who are willing to take a look. Obviously consoles differ from computers but a background in the former may help them troubleshoot, and they probably shouldn't charge you if they can't fix it. It would probably be a cheaper route than sending it to Nintendo. You could also try looking at some YouTube videos / teardowns of the Wii U if you want to attempt to fix it yourself, but if you're not very tech savvy that might be daunting.
Nah I haven't, i'm doing like level 30 missions rn
The alternate title of this podcast was "giggle podcast." ugh don't worry listening to podcasts you're on makes you hyper aware of your speechin' problems, trust me I know. The nice thing is that, in my experience, you pick at problems with yourself that most people don't even notice (which is my way of saying you were fine gurl)
Pretty sure the only primal I've fought thus far is Ifrit lmao
