Don't be ridiculous, who are you to say who is wrong and who is right? You like to be safe and do things the way they are made to be done, others like to do more than that like me, for example. My PSX, PS2 and PSP are all modded, and the 100 that I spent for it was worth it. I kept on buying games, though. Until the prices were blown up in the sky.
For PS1, Legend of Dragoon, it's a pretty entertaining RPG, with lotsa features and a big story (4CDs long). And Breath of Fire III. I never liked it, but they say it's a good one. Suikoden has some nice series too, you might want to check it out. Also Vagrant Story, which is not so popular, but it is an interesting one to try out. And another one I am forgetting its name. You might want to check that out too. Breath of Fire IV has a PC version as well.
Not sure if it doesn't apply there, but in general, it's only illegal to share your hack. For example, altering a script to make it null or hacking a software for personal use is allowed. If you share it, you're doing something illegal. Don't forget that guys like him create the linux you're using. That's why it's so much better than Microsoft Windows. It would be nice to see some other video gaming company to hire this guy as a coder.
