Pascal accompanied him, blending into the color of the night lit sky with a sense of wonder. Rapunzel and Flynn however, had rowed onto the center of the lke, where the girl was promised to get the best view of the lanterns being launched. Gazing across the water, she looked at the starry sky. She wouldn't know why so many stars were out at that time, but it was still a nice sight to look at. She silently dipped her hand intot he water and picked up a lily to admire it. Such a pretty thing, she thought to herself. She didn't take long with it as the first lantern had been set up from the kingdom. The lamented theif looked onto the sky with a tilted head and a small grin. Always on the run, he never actually had the time to sit and watch the festivities, it was a nice change of pace. Just looking onto the sky with a beautiful girl next to him might have been enough to turn him around. But to what? He led his life for so long, and was willing to change it for a kkind, excitable girl he thought was kind of cute. Well, maybe more than that, but he wouldn't tell her that. He was only doing this to get the crown... So why did he not want it to end? Amidst these thoughts, Rapunzel rocked the boat, quickly getting on her feet to stand and looka t the lantern being set into the sky. From their view, it was like a little firefly, flying up into the sky. She leaned her head on the front side of the gondola and opened her mouth to let out such a large smile as a glow was following from the village. A swarm of lanterns were slowly uplifting to follow the first in a cascade of light that shot upward. Ships from around the lake were also lighting up and releasing their lanterns, making the whole horizon of the kingdom feel like a warm, glowing candle. In boxed and sphere shapes, she gazed as the glow made everything so much brighter. A warm liught filled the air as nothing but silence was enough to set such a relaxed and wonderful feeling. she turned around to Flynn and sat down as he took out two lanterns he had bought earlier. She looked to him with her big eyes and had her smile fade. She was still happy, but she was starting to feel something for him. Like this entire atmosphere was making her see what she'd been missing in her tower. Friends, adventure and experiencing so many new and wonderful things she could have never done in isolation. She looked onto that theif she blackmailed and felt nothing but a romantic bliss. In his own way, he helped her see the light of a warmer, brighter life. She took the lantern from them as they both lifted them into the air like delicate paper birds. Watching, as they floated into the sky to join the rest. "The child isn't that gloomy," he thought aloud. "I propose a two pronged attack!" Cogsworth instructed. No doubt they will attack from the rear should the front barricades fall! The staff and I will handle any and all villagers that charge through the doors. Five of you shall stay and assist with the giant machine. The other four; escort the mademoiselle into getting the Master to assist from the ballroom!" Lumiere put his arm around the clock. "Cogsworth, you old dog! A thin, but deadly silver blade just swung passed Kaida's head as the merchant hadn't notice her. "Apologies, friend. I should learn to be more careful with my tools..." He wore a white plain shirt, brown boots and a green apron that covered the front of his body. On his head, he wore a small sun hat that sat atop his ruffled, auburn colored hair that didn't go past his shoulders. He delicately placed his scythe to the side and looked up to the possible customers. "My name is Lauriam, head groundskeeper for the kingdom," he began. "Though when this festival comes into play I open a small, floral stand to earn some extra business." He looked onto the laughing children and happy adults eating sweets. "They are merry this time of year, but the history of this day has more of a tragic beginning. You see, almost two decades ago, the queen was to give birth to a new child. But grew very ill... She was running out of time and in need of a miracles. The story says that there was a magical golden flower, unlike any I had ever grown or cataloged. It had enough healing properties to heal the queen and allow her to give birth to a healthy princess, with beautiful golden locks. To celebrate her birth, the King and Queen launched a flying lantern into the sky. I was so young then, but I recall the kingdom rejoicing in such a way... It was beautiful." He smiled for a moment, but it quickly faded. "But it didn't last long. An intruder broke into the castle and stole the child. The Kingdom searched and searched, but they could not find the Princess. And that is why, each year on her birthday, the King and Queen released thousands of lanterns into the sky. In hope that one day, their lost Princess would return." He softly touched the petals of one of the sunflowers he had planted. "We celebrate each year, but I weep for the parents. Celebrating each year must be hard for them. To have planted a seed and not even had the opportunity to see it grow...
