The Christmas lanterns had been taken down, and the closest streetlights [ bordering the main trail around the lake ] had gone out. It would be a while until the bulbs would be replaced, knowing Candlewood. Sometimes he didn't like this town so much. He stood outside of his car, blaring his lights out onto the frozen lake and wondering if this was legal. It felt ... adventurous, and wrong. It hadn't been so intimate the last time Pierce and him had come out here. Ah, hell, it wasn't like they were skinny dipping! He tried to calm himself down and leaned against the door of the driver's side with a sigh. Finally, the sound of a car reached his ears. He could see Pierce driving and parking through the windows of his car. She got out, not noticing him, and immediately changed her shoes and stepped onto the ice. He shook his head back and forth, grateful that he had already checked the thickness of the ice before she did so. So long as they didn't go out too far, they would be fine. ❝Good ... uh ... Evening.❞ He greeted, hoping he didn't frighten her. She was finding her feet on the ice. He sat down on the bench and changed into his own ice skates. He wasn't a pro-skater or anything, but he had plenty of fond memories when it came to roller-skating with his brother in his childhood. Just a few moments later, he had joined her somewhat uncomfortably, after the other night ... ❝... How are you?❞

He wondered if Reed would be upset knowing that he'd gone without him, despite it being their idea to start skating there. That had all kind of gone to hell when Mary had canceled her trip, anyway ... When he finished ironing his clothes for tomorrow, he took the few steps necessary to reach his living room and plopped down on the couch. His laptop was on the coffee table, probably heating up the glass beneath it. He should do something about that. In the corner of his eye he could see his messenger icon blinking and refrained. He sunk further into the couch, staring up at the ceiling. What a mess ...
Okay. Some feedback from me. I don't know how well you take criticism so please read with a grain of salt and know that I'm not attacking you. You have 100% control of your character and what you do -- unless I ask you to do something. If you want more interaction, you are free to go and get it, but a lot of the time you say something about how Sasha's personality isn't one to interact with others so she doesn't and you just wait -- or ask for someone to interact with you. I mean, it's fine to have a shy character but if you're looking for a lot of interaction, it would be better not to have someone so cripplingly anti-social that you don't want her to initiate anything. You can't just expect people to flock to you the majority of the time. It goes both ways. You don't have to / ask / someone to talk to YOU, YOU can go talk to someone. It also doesn't help with how many trips you seem to go on [ which is definitely not your fault ], haha. It's kind of unfortunate starting interaction with someone who may leave suddenly. I'm assuming that'll die down once summer is over? Maybe. The only two characters who are actually relevant to a major plot line right now are Bryan and Julius [ I guess Noelle + Jonathan, too, but they're in inactive status ], so you shouldn't worry about that. Right now is what'd I'd like to refer to as Jayn-RP-Downtime. That means I'm not setting forest fires and sinkin' ferries on you guys, so there's not a lot of forced direction or unity, it's up to you guys to make something out of yourselves. Right now is time used to develop your character and relationships with others before things go so crazy that you don't have time to do that anymore. It's kind of like grinding in an MMO before a huge dungeon. Kind of. Your posts aren't bad. You are actually a surprisingly [ since I've never RP'd with you before ] good RPer!! I personally don't hate Sasha, either. The only thing truly limiting you is how much creativity you put into it. For instance, Sasha went to the hospital, yeah? I believe she would have been there at the time of Noelle and Jonathan's abduction -- which would mean she could have noticed the blackout. That would have been a perfect excuse to find her way out of bed [ if possible ] and to walk past Julius + Bryan and get involved, instead of writing that she had just woken up and was just kind of laying in bed. I mean, it's mostly up to you right now what you decide to do with your character. Utilizing RP opportunities [ like that one, the parties, the funeral, the play, etc ] = interaction. Another way is to communicate with your fellow role players. idk why so many people did this -- but y'all should NOT all be STRANGERS looool. Most of our characters would have known each other ever since elementary school. some of us should be best friends from childhood and crap but most people -- especially the newcomers -- entered the story as strangers and made it more difficult for themselves. It would have been ideal to discuss with an RPer that you wanted a predefined relationship with their character so you started off with someone to interact with. Even if you didn't do that, since we all should know each other, it wouldn't be far fetched to make conversation with someone as if you already knew them instead of isolating yourself. On another note the name of the RP is Cupid's Brew, a sure fire way to be relevant here is to actually use Cupid's Brew. An observational 'stalker' seemed like a pretty great archetype for the potion but Sasha 'refuses'. What's done is done but basically; You're not a bad RPer. You can do anything you want to do and be as relevant as you want, but you can't obtain that if you're assuming other people will make that happen for you. Utilize opportunities in the RP. UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVITY. Cupid's Brew = instantly relevant. It would be realistic for your character to already know someone / be friendly with them. Predefined relationships are the easiest way to have insta!interaction. The rest takes hard work and nurturing. uh [/brainfart]

There were plenty of things to do in Candlewood, but lack of creativity, funds and friends made this day blend in with every other. Slow, non-pivotal with monochrome skies. Yeah. It was still cold outside. He didn't like hot weather but he was longing for Spring now more than ever. A change. Despite such things, school would be starting after today. It would prove as a major distraction and serve as a catalyst back into his normal life. He would work with his uncle until he found something that paid more, participate in extracurriculars and try to slowly rekindle things with Mary. Maybe. Mary, Mary, Mary ... She clearly sensed his drifting. Oliver was savvy enough to know how girls acted when they were suspicious. She never messaged him before this whole thing. It was always him initiating conversation. She had messaged him five times between yesterday night and this morning. Mary was also beginning to talk less and less about herself and ask him more questions, like she cared about his life suddenly. It felt kind of nice for there to be a shift ... She hadn't always been so selfish, though. Something changed ... They were still together though, and until he decided to end it, he owed her some attention, so he chatted with her on and off during his chores. He was in the middle of ironing his clothes for tomorrow when his phone vibrated with a new text message. From: Pierce I'm sorry. I'm sorry x infinity. Do you hate me? I still want to go ice skating if you don't. Maybe later tonight after it gets dark? I hope you're not mad... He nearly collapsed onto his ironing board. What was wrong with her?! Instead he placed the phone down and sighed out, ironing a bit more aggressively [ if that was possible ]. His eyebrows furrowed and he could feel a headache coming on. He had decided not deal with it anymore, but how harmful would it be to go skating? Was that breaking his resolve? And her flip-flopping wasn't making things any easier. He pressed his lips together and folded his jeans, making room for his shirt and mashing his toes into the carpet. Annoying. The worst part about it was that ... he wanted to see her. From my understanding [ someone pls correct me if I'm wrong ], he's suggesting a personal badge / banner for each user [ well, prem+ ] that will be a consistent thing everyone can be identified by. The banners can either be set to change whenever we want, or once. For instance, let's say I make a 'badge' that reads ~ jayn ~. Even if I change my name to SHANIQUANDA, y'all would know it was me by my badge. While I do think it's a cute and a nice idea for a prem perk, I believe that the only way this would be useful for identification is if we could only do it 'once'. But as someone who doesn't like being stuck with something forever [ especially with changing color schemes ], I would prefer it being able to change whenever -- like a user title. That being said, I'm not exactly sold on the idea or totally against it. I think it's cute and a nice idea for a perk, but I also think that it could get a little cluttered with a badge, usertitle, and avatar. I would personally prefer us being able to change our user title to an image or something -- but that's already been rejected and also has nothing to do with the intended purpose of this suggestion. I wonder if there is a mod now or in the future similar to our previous name change history mod?
I think it makes more sense as a premium perk because normal users can't excessively change their names to begin with.

「A N N O U N C E M E N T」 Hey guys! First off I need to thank the participants of this 'promo' project for helping me out. It was a pretty last minute request and they all pulled through, so they are awesome. Secondly, man, it's been a while. The purpose of this release was to try and kickstart KHVC back into some kind of ignition. As most of you who were involved previously know, KHVC went into hiatus mode back in December 2012. The reason being -- straightly, -- that I was feeling stressed I felt that KHVC was being taken for granted. It felt like the support that KHVC originally had began to dwindle. When threads with the final product were posted, there would be little response and to be completely honest that doesn't feel good after staying up 48 hours to produce something for you guys, haha. Sometimes, I got a bit run down and had to produce some ... less than quality things that I cringe at now ... After a point I began to ask myself if it was worth it, as I'm not one to push for something not very many people seem to care about anymore. And so, KHV Chorus was put on hiatus so I could think some things through and consider dropping the project entirely. During the hiatus, a number of you approached me with questions and support, which I really appreciated. As the months have gone by and life has changed, I've found myself increasingly missing you guys. I miss singing with you. It's a unique way of bonding that makes me feel gushy and mushy even on my worst of days. I've seen so much improvement in everyone, including myself, from the time we started up until now. Whether it's actual vocal quality, presence on the forum, or just overall confidence level, we've managed to accomplish quite a few things within our little family. It was always nice, regardless of how much stress it brought me at times, to have something consistent on KHV. Something to log on for when KH news is slow or nothing much else is happening, and a way to bond with members who I may otherwise have never spoken to. I've made a lot of friends from KHVC and I know some of you have, too. Anyway, cutting this short lest I go on for another two years. Basically, I would like to slowly and tenderly attempt to continue KHVC, if possible ... I appreciate your patience with me while I try to get into the groove of things [ and give updates ] and I really hope some of us can come together again in future projects. As cheesy as it sounds, I literally can't do it alone. Without further ado, the latest secret KHVC project.
