I just got through the first season and WOW this show is great.

I've seen quite a lot about it on tumblr (and of course Netflix always puts it in recommended/popular), finally got around to starting it a few days ago and sped through it. The characters are just really great, and as far as I can tell they do well on representation (a trans character played by an actual trans woman!!!!).

There is a lot going on & S2 is said to be more of an ensemble cast, rather than focusing on Piper so much, so that will likely increase, but Downton Abbey is similar & I love it, so I trust the OITNB writers to do well with it.

I am a bit sad to hear that
Alex will be in only four episodes this season, as she is probably my favorite character, but the actress is interested in returning for season three so this should at least give us time to see more of some other characters

    holla @ me if u a faaaaan

One of my sisters moved into NYC about a year ago. We get along well but she's not a very communicative person, so I often come downstairs after waking up to just find her there. It was shocking at first but now I've just kinda grown accustomed to it.

No. It also doesn't make a difference how long you leave them unplugged. You do sometimes have to unplug them (in which case you need to turn off your computer, unplug the router, and unplug the modem, then turn the modem back on, turn the router back on, and then turn your computer back on, waiting about 30 seconds between each step), but if you're doing this every night then you should probably consider replacing them.

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... new episode of the podcast!

This week marks our fiftieth episode which is a tremendously big deal for us! We want to thank all of our listeners, new and old, for supporting us, and all of our guests for helping us reach this landmark. Thank you!

For this episode @Misty, @libregkd, and @Llave were joined by @Laplace to discuss next-gen gaming -- notably, what improvements we'd like to see over last gen, what games have impressed us so far, and what we feel we expect in a "next-gen" title. Have a listen and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

RAM wouldn't do much. Video rendering is primarily handled by the CPU, with acceleration by the GPU if you set it up that way (but that's not the case for you).

It's never going to be an exact science and there are frankly way too many factors that would affect rendering time. Unless it's unreasonable (like taking hours for a short video) then don't worry about it.

Avatars are already centered. When we made the style we played around with the idea of centering usernames / usertitles but felt this way provided better visual balance with the online status indicator.

    Religion

I think this is reaaaaally interesting to bring up in here because it seems like there's this balance of people who don't experience this or people who find it pretty common -- I get solicitors coming to my door a lot, but rarely ever religious people. I live in the godless north tho so I imagine it happens much more frequently where there are a lot of religious people

The body acceptance movement does need to be careful not to cross over into enabling. While we shouldn't be shaming a person's lifestyle choices (i.e. diet & exercise), it is still important to promote healthy choices. That said, that's an extreme I don't think we've yet reached -- what people really want to do is advocate the embrace and acceptance of alternate body shapes and types by society. As many people in there are saying, body weight does not always reflect diet and exercise. A lot of it is genetic. I'm fairly small (5'2", ~120lbs) but I don't exercise as I should nor do I eat very well (trying to change that though!). Some people can be healthy eaters and exercise a lot and still be heavy. Mainstream body acceptance promotes people living in the way that makes them happy & healthy, whatever body shape that puts them in, as society tends to assume that the thin person is healthy and the heavier person is unhealthy.

Thin privilege is a bit of a different term and separate from body acceptance, which is more so what you're talking about. Thin privilege has been tossed around a lot lately in response to celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, who goes around calling herself fat and telling us about all the eating she does, despite being a fit, sometimes thin woman (depends on the role she's in as with most actors). And don't get me wrong -- I think it's great for a female role model to promote girls eating considering the media often sends a wildly different message. But as a thin person, she is speaking from a point of privilege. To quote from a tumblr post (it's actually about John Green, who is accused of a similar privilege, but they mention JLaw):

Extremely shameless plug here but we actually did an episode of the podcast on Birth by Sleep Volume 2. We describe the scene leading up to the Volume 2 text, what Nomura has said on the matter, and what we think it was / could have been.

Hatok is right though that it's tough to find the video on YouTube. There is a copyright ID going around for Zero Point (amongst other Kingdom Hearts videos) so it gets pulled down almost immediately. You can always download the scene from the archive and just watch it locally.

I don't like to mention this this early into the process, but I've said before how long it takes me so it could be easily deduced: a new style is in the works. This one is going to be a big endeavor because I'm looking to make some very serious changes to the functionality as much as the appearance of the site -- in short, I'm creating a style framework. It's a lot of work and it will take a lot of time (so please don't ask me about it right now), but suggestions like these are really helpful for that. The menu thing is an issue we've already noted and have brainstormed a solution to, but I can see what I can do about the quick reply (though unfortunately the text boxes on Xenforo are a bit finicky on mobile, especially on Android, hoping they'll fix that in a later update).

So yeah, definitely keep them coming. I can't promise to do everything but pointing out things that aren't exactly easy or intuitive from a user interface perspective is very helpful.
