It doesn't sound like FFXV will be there either, but apparently Square is going to be announcing something new... FF12 or KH3D remaster please.
I think that might be illegal. The interviews do get translated and that's really the only "new" info in them. They are, the biggest difference is the artwork and interviews. Otherwise from what I can tell (I can't read Japanese) most of the info is like... Enemy stats and such, which you can get from the guides.
She was in Pitch Perfect! I'm pretty sure she'll be in the sequel as well. Dunno what Hayden is up to, I think she just recently got pregnant.
Yeah that's definitely not Brittany Snow. I really don't think they'll redub all of Naminé's scenes, only those previously unvoiced, but I suppose we won't know until the game actually comes out. As irritating as it might be to have two different voice actors playing her in a single game, though, I think Brittany Snow did a really great job in Kingdom Hearts 2... this new dub, not so much.
I own the KH3D Ultimania and there is a ridiculous amount of information in there. Translating it really would be a nightmare. A lot of the information in it is later included in the official game guides that are released -- you do miss out on the good stuff, like the artwork and the interviews with them of course. That said, I can't see them bringing the Ultimanias overseas ever, especially considering (from what I understand) the official guides don't sell very well here. It looks like the Ultimania is listed for $30~, though, which isn't a bad price (though shipping is always a lot). I might pick up a copy again. Edit: Found some more info on some of the e-store goods Square posted, hope you don't mind Roxam but I edited it into your post! (feel free to change the title around & junk)
To be clear, we are not aiming to recreate the reputation system here; we're attempting to reach a middle ground between it and the, admittedly, overly simplified likes system. Personalized comments are not within the scope of the post ratings add-on which was consciously selected over a mere clone of the vB reputation system. That said, there is no existing functionality to limit ratings given per day. I suppose it could always be added in the future but those suggestions currently aren't possible. Plums would know better than me but I'm fairly certain that a user can only rate a single post once (e.g. if I hit like, I can't also hit useful & informative for the same post). As for halving negative ratings, it would be possible with a few simple template edits, but as Plums stated, negative rating counts aren't displayed anywhere but here: (it's a block on the sidebar of user profiles) Here it wouldn't make sense to halve the values as it's a count of quantity -- though it could still, I believe, be halved. Still, I think that would be confusing and misleading.
View attachment 38705 If you all missed it, Square released a pre-E3 Kingdom Hearts II.5 HD Remix trailer a few hours ago. The nostalgia and emotion no doubt gripped us all as we saw some of our favorite scenes in their full HD glory, and I'm sure many of us would have been happy just with the December 2nd (NA) and December 5th (EU) release dates confirmed. Square Enix decided to take an extra step and tease some information about the in-development Kingdom Hearts 3. Announced at E3 last year, we've had precious few updates on it since. Unsurprisingly, the teaser was short and rather cryptic, fitting for the Kingdom Hearts series. Let's take a look, shall we? General warning: spoilers up to and including Dream Drop Distance are fair game for this post! We can of course only speculate on Kingdom Hearts 3, but if you're not quite up to date on the series & don't want to be, don't read ahead! View attachment 38697 The teaser begins by flashing some Dream Drop Distance scenes, as the plot of Kingdom Hearts 3 will unquestionably be influenced by the events of the latest installment in the Kingdom Hearts series. To recap the events of Dream Drop Distance... Seems a good lead-in for Kingdom Hearts 3, does it not? There are, of course, a fair share of complications on both sides of the conflict -- notably, who will be the Thirteen Darkness and Seven Guardians of Light, especially considering the fates of our Birth by Sleep trio. But this is Kingdom Hearts we're talking about -- nothing is ever simple (and clean)! Many fans want to know more about Xehanort's past before his saga comes to a close, and it certainly seems necessary. This is where the teaser comes in -- the outlines of two people were faint and shown briefly in conversation. I've inverted the colors and increased the contrast to give a better look at both figures... View attachment 38698 While pointy, long hair is not unique to any one character in the Kingdom Hearts series, we could identify this sketch as a younger Xehanort purely on that basis. However, the positioning of the (gloved!) hand is also eerily familiar, making me pretty confident in that identification. For comparison... View attachment 38699 View attachment 38700 View attachment 38701 That established, let's look at the other figure. View attachment 38702 The hair on this character seems to be more waved, and there seems to be a faint scar under his eye. View attachment 38703 View attachment 38704 Thus identified as a young Xehanort and a young Eraqus, let's look at the conversation between the two. Well, we're certainly accustomed to tales of the Keyblade War. In Dream Drop Distance, Xehanort explains it to Riku and Mickey. The final "But you knew that, didn't you?" appears separated from the rest of the conversation, a seeming taunt to the fans as much as to Eraqus! Kingdom Hearts χ (Chi) also gave us this hint towards the future of the series... The teaser isn't, therefore, much new information -- we've known for a long time that Xehanort is obsessed with tales of the Keyblade War and past wielders. But Kingdom Hearts 3 seems to have some history in store for us, building perhaps upon the time travel presented in Dream Drop Distance. Who was Xehanort and Eraqus's Master? Who are these old Masters Xehanort references? Will we see more of young Xehanort and young Eraqus? Only time will tell, really, but we can have fun speculating! Only Kingdom Hearts II.5 HD Remix is confirmed to appear at E3, which begins next week, so this teaser may very well be all we see of Kingdom Hearts 3. Hopefully this analysis has got the wheels turning in your head, even if the identities of our figures were obvious to you. Sound out in the comments or visit our Kingdom Hearts 3 section for more conversation about the final installment in the Xehanort Saga!
Is it possible to make anything THAT terrible twice? Yeah if you listen to the E3 podcast this is more or less what I'm expecting. Great trailer though! When I'm not pooped from work & on my phone I'll have to look at that KH3 teaser more in depth -- I suppose I am a bit disappointed we didn't get to see the actual game but it's better than nothing.
well I certainly couldn't use one that I had posted in
all the words i had to say didn't mean nothing to you
This kid really does need to buy a pop filter and take like... ten steps back from the mic. Like damn.
_MOVED to the Spam Zone. Discussion is for a more in-depth, well, discussion (though if you did want to have an in-depth discussion of this guy's review, you can post in the KH sections).
Fixed. Some post counts may still be different than what they were before, but everything is accurate now.
This was my fault, forgot to make the section count posts before I moved the threads (which they will in this section from now on). User post counts will be slowly updated accordingly.
Name Change Requests Users who reach 300 posts and five months of membership may have their username changed. Please note that this is a one-time offer; once your name is changed, it cannot be changed again, unless you’re going back to your original username. For example, if SoraIsCool865 changes his username to RikuIsCool865, he cannot change to AquaIsCool865, but he can go back to SoraIsCool865. For this reason, we ask that you carefully consider this decision. Simple changes like fixing a typo in your username, changing the case of letters, or adding spaces, do not count as a name change and can be requested at any point. If your desired username is taken by someone else, you’re out of luck, even if they have no posts and haven’t logged in since 2007. Usernames must be between 2 and 25 characters, including spaces, numbers, and symbols. Premium Members (1000 posts) are allowed name changes every two weeks, and should request changes within their section. Once your name change is processed, your post will be deleted from this thread and you will be notified via personal conversation. Social Group Import Requests In the summer of 2012, we moved to a new forum software; all old Social Groups were archived in thread form. In April of the following year, we debuted the new Social Group system. Archived threads can be moved to your recreated Social Group, you just need to request it. First, you must create a new Social Group. Second, visit this subforum and locate any & all threads from your old group. You can use the search function to locate things more easily, or sort the threads in alphabetical order. Third, post within this thread with the link to your recreated group and the links to ALL the threads you want moved. You will be notified when your request has been processed. If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to message me.
Forum Assistance Here you can ask any questions pertaining to the forums, the rules, or both. In addition, if there’s some sort of error on the site, or a broken link, feel free to post it here. Questions that do not pertain to the site or the forums belong in the Technology section. Frequently Asked Questions We have an extensive FAQ that you should look at before asking a question. If your question remains unanswered by the FAQ, feel free to post in this section. The FAQ should be your first stop, though--we didn't go through the trouble of making it for nothing! Be patient! If you’re posting for help, please be patient in waiting for a response; a staff member will typically reply within a few hours, but if they don’t, badgering them (posting on their profile, tagging them in your posts) won’t get you very far. You may also be asked a few questions before receiving a solution (like which browser you’re using or how to reproduce the problem), so we ask that you just bear with us while we do a little research. Help us help you! We appreciate it when other users reply to help threads, but please be sure that you know the answer to the question before replying. Your answers should be detailed and clear. If you’re unsure of the answer, it’s probably better to just leave it for the staff. Making Suggestions Before making a new thread, please search. It’s possible that your idea has already been suggested! Suggestions should aim to help or otherwise augment the community. It’s important to keep in mind that just because you want something, prefer a certain configuration, or would enjoy something, that doesn’t mean everyone else would, or that it’s within the scope of the site. We’re happy to entertain all ideas, but there’s such a thing as having too many features. Please be as clear as possible with your suggestion, and expect to make some compromises. Many suggestions are met with constructive criticism, and it’s important to find a solution that will please everyone. If you feel that someone is being overly negative and resorting to personal attacks, please use the Report button. You’re welcome to bump old threads if you would like to re-open the discussion on a particular suggestion. However, bumping several threads will be frowned upon; a lack of responses to your suggestion may mean a lack of interest. This forum is not for reports—if there are threads that need to be moved, to be deleted, or otherwise have moderator attention, use the Report button, not this forum. Finally, we ask that you respect that the staff will say no sometimes. We’re happy to provide a platform for users to make suggestions, but not everything is up for debate. When we do reject a suggestion, we will try to be as detailed as possible about why. Prefixes This section utilizes thread prefixes to help sort the content. Here's a brief description of when each should be used: Help: Use this prefix for general user-end prefixes, like when you're not sure where to find something, how to do something, or if you encounter some kind of error. Basically, if you need to ask for help... mark your thread help! Awaiting Feedback: Making a suggestion? Mark your thread with this prefix! Threads marked with this prefix are open to opinions and critiques from other users. Working On it: This prefix is used only by the staff; we've approved your suggestion and are working on implementing it. Implemented: This prefix is used only by the staff. Your suggestion has been accepted and implemented on the site! No Thanks: Your suggestion has been rejected. This prefix is also only used by the staff. vBulletin: Legacy suggestions from when we ran a different software are marked with this prefix. XenForo We use forum software called XenForo; the built-in features of XenForo and the availability of XenForo add-ons will occasionally limit what we can implement on KH-Vids. We are willing to fund custom development if there’s a great suggestion made, but bear in mind that this is often done out of the pocket of staff members. If you would like to contribute money, you can always donate via our homepage; if you would like the money to go towards a certain suggestion, you can leave that in the donation comment. You can find a listing of XenForo add-ons here. However, please bear in mind that there are several factors we evaluate before installing an add-on (price, level of support & updates, possible conflicts with other add-ons, support for our version of XenForo, etc.). We appreciate that users here may have experience with XenForo, but unless asked, it may be best to leave the technical considerations to the staff — only we know the specific possibilities and configuration for our site.
why this
That's more subjective. I personally don't receive much joy from the worst polls, aside from maybe when I've campaigned for worst staff in the past (but that wouldn't be prevented by my nominating myself -- there is a consent on my part to be put up for the award). I have however seen people hurt over the awards which I feel puts a damper upon what is otherwise a fun event for the community.
If anyone is curious, the Creepypasta Wiki is running a fundraiser for the victim's family. That said, I do agree that it is too simplistic to point at Slender Man, the Creepypasta Wiki, and the internet in general and blame them for this awful tragedy. I think it's also a bit too simplistic and unfair to say that these girls are absolutely suffering from "mental illness" as that's a pretty big blanket term / generalization. Of course someone has to be unstable in some way to brutally stab a friend of theirs, and I wish honestly that these girls were receiving the help they need rather than being thrown in prison (though they have not yet gone to trial and I can't imagine a jury is going to sentence 12 year olds to lifetime in prison). There are a lot of places we can point blame -- how we handle (or don't, as it were) mental illness in this country, the parents' negligence, the internet -- all with varying levels of legitimacy. Right now though I just feel awfully sorry for the poor girl and her family & wish her a fast recovery.
A major concern about being a parent, for me, is raising bad kids. Now I know that's obviously subjective but parenting is extreme complicated and there's no absolute right way to do it. So at 19 & with no children, I really can't answer, or presume to answer, this question. That said, I took a class in ethics & morality this past semester and for part of it we looked at how children learn right from wrong. Overwhelmingly, children learned by example rather than by lecture; the parents' values were, in many cases, unimportant to the children's development. Therefore, I think the best way to "teach" your children is to be a moral character yourself -- and they will likely follow. The study also said that one should encourage good behavior from the child through praise of their character rather than through some kind of reward or praising the act: By the same coin, if a child does something wrong, they learn best when guilted rather than shamed: Now obviously one can't base their entire parenting philosophy off of one New York Times article, even if it does quote a number of studies. But to me, the findings seem rather intuitive -- I believe strongly that my mother raised my sisters and myself very well despite some rather notable obstacles. She is a single parent and we have always struggled financially; she had to work long hours so I would often only see her in the mornings and after work. Even so, at a very early age I feel I had a good sense of right and wrong and rarely acted out. I've often looked at her parenting in my early childhood as rather harsh, but I've come to appreciate that in hindsight. While I'm unsure if I would be able to be as harsh with my own children, I do think it's important to not go too easy on them as well. In terms of punishment, I'm very undecided. The pacifist in me wants to say that physical punishment is never right, but I was spanked as a child for acting out and I still consider my mother a good parent. Other forms of punishment usually seem rather cruel and, in some cases, ineffective. Something to think on, I suppose.
