Stratos was continuing to fly around Karina's glider, until they picked up Kel. Despite his efforts to help at the moment, the three of them on one vehicle was actually pretty bad. The behemoth seemed to think this too, and decided that he would take them all down with relative ease on his own. With it starting to rain holy down upon them, the situation was bad and only going to get worse. While they were not able to actually avoid most the attacks, the lasers were not enough, or so Spectrum the Elemoth thought. He then seemed to want to ground them by casting gravity on all of them, pulling the entire glider down to the ground. Despite Karina's best efforts, they couldn't escape the field until she ended up casting gravity on all of them. And even that wasn't good enough to save them. Karina then took a dark firaga, basically point blank, and blasted her away. Despite this sort of massive amount of force, Karina was still able to stand from the attack and then told them that they had to choose who would go on the glider. Stratos wasn't sure which of them would do better in the air, until Beuce came up with a plan for them to follow. It was here that there entire plan of attack and formation would be decided. They would either make it or break it in this fight, and working together and not getting killed would require just about every ounce of teamwork they had. Stratos caught the hi-potion and hi-ether as Beuce threw them to him, and wondered just what to do with them. He wasn't entirely sure if he'd know quite the right time to use them, but he would just have to believe in the comrades that believed in him to not screw it up. It was then that after everyone was designated their sort of positions and roles, that they split, ready to put the plan into action. Stratos figured that he would be best staying right where he was, as sort of a ground control to help support everyone most effectively while they all but themselves in danger on the front lines. After all, he'd have to try and be at his best just as much as they would. With that, he watched as Beuce had Zantetsukened his way over to the behemoth to start down his own form of assault. He watched the masterful use of elemental attacks to counter the behemoth's different aspects of magic, and then saw just what was going on. Each time he attacked and countered the corresponding element of the behemoth, it started to become vulnerable in that area. Having read up on a good deal of magic himself, Stratos knew just what element could beat what, and knew, probably around the same time that Beuce did, that there was one core weakness in the group. Out of the four of them, none of them were mystics. And despite the other three being stronger than Stratos, they too probably didn't know a lightning spell yet. However this was only realized as Beuce was beaten down by the water arm. While he managed to get out of the tight spot using some reflexive magic casting, it was still a bad situation to be in, especially as the earth leg still hit him away. Stratos watched in horror as Beuce was suddenly at the top of the grand hall, and wondered just how he got there. It was terrifying though, as there was no way Stratos could do anything to save him in time. If there was just a little more time he could do something to stop it. He then saw that Beuce was suspended in mid air, completely frozen. Coming to the realization that this was from a stop spell, Stratos decided to take quick action. Having cherry blossoms fall from the sky, Stratos quickly seemed to dash over to where Beuce was in mid air, and quickly summoned his keyglider, only to leave it suspended in mid air as Stratos went back, his feet skidding across the ground from the overall momentum of his leap. As he got his footing back, he saw that Beuce had landed, not harmlessly, but not dead onto his keyglider. He then shouted out to Beuce saying, "use my keyblade as well! It'll help you get back your magic faster and let you have overall more of it. Also leave space and wind magic to me, and just use you MP for anything and everything offensive!" After yelling this to Beuce, Stratos thought of what else he could start doing now. He no longer had a keyblade, but it was in better hands, as it could now be used to amplify the offensive magic, which Stratos wasn't going to be casting anyway. However, he now had four mp at his disposal to use. One from his keyglider javelin tactics earlier and three from Kel's mp gift that he most likely had used. And so he waved his hand once, emanating green light from it and casting it on the first person who had taken terrible, terrible damage. That being Karina and the point blank dark firaga. Next up, he did the exact same thing again, only on Beuce, the guy who had nearly died. After having the healing light being cast over him, he then decided to heal the next and last guy on the list. Kel had taken a bit of a pummeling earlier from Spectrum and probably needed to be healed as well. After doing that, he still had one mp to use. It was too little to cast aero, and he was advised against using it anyway. Well, using it in the conventional means anyway. Stratos knew the earth leg could probably be a problem if not dealt with, and aero was the only feasible way to do that. Though, there was a more pressing and apparent issue he could take care of. Using his last bit of MP, Stratos cast gravity on the behemoth's head, causing the clockwork machine head to screech to a grinding halt. As it was now, it couldn't use any time magic on them. Stratos was probably not fit for combat anymore. After all, that last attack had ended up doing a good deal of damage and wasn't feeling too hot on the idea of having to stand again. However, he couldn't just lie down and give up here. No. That'd be really bad. Not to mention with his help the thing would probably be easier to take down than with just the other three. It was then that Karina had come up and told him to get on her keyglider. He decided to comply with that, and she told him her plan. It's true, having him attack while she avoided would make things much easier, not to mention he realized something here. Karina was asking for him to attack and admitting that she most likely couldn't take this behemoth on by herself. Which meant that all the talk of teamwork that had been getting spoken to her during this entire fight was finally starting to sink in. After the behemoth had let out a rain of attacks of all different and varrying elements, Stratos then realized there was a bit of a problem in her plan for him to attack from afar. Scratching the back of his head, he said, " well, you do know that my only ranged attacks are magic spells right? And um, I've kind of been spending about all the mp I can at almost every given juncture in this fight. So I'm basically running on empty right now." He then assumed that she gave him a look that told him he was the dumbest person in the world, only for him to start pondering onto just what he could do. Sure, he didn't know any skill commands and, while thinking about it, he hadn't even seen any ranged non-magical commands other than strike raid, so he probably wouldn't even have that much anyway even if he did have those commands. Anyway, he was also out of MP, and the only real reliable way to get that back was via beating things up with his keyblade. But that wasn't really an option at the moment, seeing as this thing would tear them apart the second they got close enough to it. So, how was he supposed to attack this thing and still gain MP back from it? It was then that he had a brilliant idea, that was about to look really stupid. Summoning his keyblade to his hands, he the quickly turned it into his keyglider jet board thing. "Alright, I've got a ranged attack now. Also, if any sort of attacks comes towards us, I'll be able to block against it." Igniting the thrust on his keyglider, Stratos flung the makeshift weapon at the behemoth, which sped along like a high speed javelin. Spectrum the Elemoth didn't really see this attack coming at him, and so he was blindsided and smacked in the horn with a keyglider. Karina then had her work cut out for her as she then had to dodge the attacks coming at them in response. Raising its water arm to the air, he saw some sort of spell coming out of the water. What it was was...a giant circus balloon. Well that was anti-climatic. The behemoth then split the balloon into eight other balloons that all homed in on them. Stratos didn't know why, but he felt oddly threatened by them. Summoning his keygldier back to his hand, he threw it at a balloon to pop it, only to see the force of that one balloon popping sent his keyglider flying...into the behemoth. Well that was convenient. However, Karina had to fly around and make sure to not get hit by the balloons. After she did for awhile, they all popped and had to get another shot at taking on this behemoth. OOC: EXP Writer: 640 Words, 30 EXP Total: 4650 Spoiler: North Side List Spectrum the Elemoth: 410/600
This was quite the pickle they were all in.The four of them, while they had rested, were still extremely tired from all the past fighting and injuries they had sustained. Now they were facing down a super behemoth who had strength completely incomparable to the others thus far. Despite the generic theme of just using all the elements, that genericness actually made it extremely strong. After all, mastery over ten different kind of attack types was something to be feared no matter what the circumstances. Karina was the first up to attack this monstrous behemoth, though, the attack was basically a failure. He and the others couldn't do anything as she was smacked around by the behemoth with seemingly no effort at all. It was then that Stratos decided that it was his turn to attack. After all, he didn't have the MP to heal up Karina at all right now, and he only had one other item that could have been used to heal her up. Hopping on his keyglider Stratos took off to attack the thing. Flying towards it, he figured that he could get high enough to attack the horn, and then bring down the hurt on it and get out alright. There was a problem with this plan, however. As soon as he started to ascend, he felt this pulse go over him. After a large black sphere covered him, he felt instantly heavier, and was sent downward, unable to hold his weight in the air anymore. The glider hit the ground first, but Stratos still felt the shock of it go through his legs, as the glider connected. Being unable to keep his legs up anymore, they buckled underneath him, and he started to fall. However, Spectrum the Elemoth was not quite done yet. Taking its earthy rock foot, it stomped on the ground, creating large chunks of earth that just shot out of the ground. One such chunk formed underneath his glider, and Stratos was sent into the air, where the behemoth had another attack ready. With its fire arm, it seemed to be charging up something comparable to a miniature sun in its palm. It then thrust its palm forward in an attempt to obliterate Stratos, however, when the attack connected, Stratos was on the other side of the behemoth now. He had managed to summon his keyblade in his hand just in the nick of time and Zantetsukened through the behemoth. However, the problem was that Stratos was still in mid air, and the behemoth seemed to like it when he was there. Stretching back its water arm behind it, it grabbed Stratos and engulfed him in it. He couldn't breathe while he was in the water, and could feel his conciousness somewhat fading in there. However, Stratos still could fight back within it. So, using his keyblade, he started up a vorpal blitz attack. While normally the keyblade would do next to nothing against this arm, the fact that his blade was imbued with ice made all the difference. The water around him was starting to freeze, and the behemoth didn't seem to like this in the slightest. Instead, it stretched its arm back and then snapped it forward, launching Stratos out of it. He collided with the ground, hard, and when he looked back up he was seeing stars everywhere. Trying to bring his senses back, he looked around and saw the totally beaten up Karina. Using the MP he had just generated from hitting the behemoth, he cast cure on her, doing what litttle bit of support he could. He then looked to Beuce and Kel and yelled, "we can't fight this thing like we have been the others. If we're going to beat this thing, we've got to work together." The fight was drawing to a close against Lucda the Purimoth. While he was a rather formidable foe, it could be seen that without the support of Thrilse the Wardmoth, he'd go down fairly easily. Despite this, Stratos had to keep dodging all the attacks that were being sent at him, and couldn't afford to make any mistakes or slip ups. If he did, then he'd be shot down for sure and that would be completely terrible. Not just from the bullets, but from the fall as well, he'd most likely not make it out alive from that kind of thing. Keeping the aggro on him, he quickly swerved around as the behemoth let out a light shot that created a giant cross shaped pulse. Despite dodging the brunt of the attack, he still got shaken up by the shockwave of it. The behemoth then fired two shots straight at him, only for Stratos to put up his keyglider to block the shots. Again, while the brunt was avoided, the shock from the hit caused him to get tossed around a bit from the attack. After doing another short dash at him, the thing fired two more shots at him. Stratos's keyglider got hit again, and the young keyblade wielder was having trouble keeping his balance. If he took a few more shots, not even to himself, then he would probably fall and that would be all kinds of bad. It was then that Karina came back into the fray to fight the thing. Stratos thought that she was probably moving around far too much after taking such a beating, but then again that's exactly what he had been doing this entire time. In fact, Stratos still wasn't entirely sure how he was still fighting against this gigantic onslaught of heartless himself. Regardless, Karina was not one to stop just because someone told her to rest, so he wasn't entirely expecting anything different from her. She then let loose a good deal of attacks against it, and seemed to put the Purimoth right on the brink of death. The problem now was finding a way to attack it without getting hit himself. With Karina tired and just executing her move, Beuce not in the most favorable attacking position and Stratos himself basically being unable to, the trio was not in the greatest position to attack the thing. It was a good thing they were actually a quartet. With Kel coming in to attack the thing, Lucda could no longer keep up the pressure on anyone at all. When his attacks failed on just about everyone, Kel was able to bring down the final bit of life that the Purimoth seemed to have. With Lucda gone, the group seemed to have been in the clear. However, everyone here knew that this momentary respite wouldn't last forever. Stratos flew down to ground level, only to sort of fall off of his keyglider. While he seemed to have mastered flying and fighting on his keyglider, landing was something foreign to him thus far. Picking himself up after that, he then said, "alright, I think it would benefit us all if we just took a good breather for a bit, because I don't know about you guys, but I am kind of exhausted." Stratos then sat down to catch his breath, hoping that everyone else would follow suit. Really, with Karina's injury, his abuse of Zantetsuken, the both of them clearing one side and working just as hard on another side, and Beuce's injury, Kel seemed to be the only to really be in any sort of tip top shape to fight. After getting as much rest as the heartless had allowed him he looked up to see his next foe. Stratos, wondering what could possibly be thrown at them after all this random themes that seemed to be followed, looked to the behemoth encroaching on their position. The thing was, as all of them are now, bipedal. Walking in on two legs Stratos noticed that this thing's body was like an amalgamation of things more than anything else. The right leg that it stood up on seemed to be completely covered in ice. No, more like it was made out of ice. The left leg seemed to be made out of some sort rocky earthy material. Its right arm was made entirely out of water, though somehow seemed to keep a form of an arm rather than just flowing everywhere. It's left arm seemed to be some sort of red demon like arm with cracks going through it, erupting flames from all openings. The torso of the behemoth seemed to be made out of a writhing darkness sort of thing, with wind seemingly creating ruptures in the behemoth, flowing out all over the place. The head and mouth of the behemoth seemed to be following a somewhat steam punk theme. With pistons on the side of its face, gears seemingly in random place, and then entire thing seemed to resemble the inner workings of a clock. Steam punk in a nutshell really. The tusks that erupted from the clockwork head seemed to be covered in lightning, coursing all over the place, arcing back and forth between the tusks as well. The final piece of this behemoth's appearance was its horn. It seemed to be a bright white color, radiating with light. However, something else seemed weird about the behemoth. Almost as if the air around it was heavier than normal. Weird. Stratos knew that they had to go take this thing out as fast as possible, otherwise it would totally win over them in a sustained and drawn out fight. Granted, there were still more heartless across all of the sides, including more god damn behemoths, and seeing as it only took two sides to tire them out, Stratos wasn't entirely sure how they'd deal with things after this behemoth. Ah well, they'd cross that bridge when they got there. However, there was final thing about the behemoth that Stratos noticed. Something that was different across all other behemoths. No other one, thus far seemed to share this trait. "Is it it just me, or does that guy seem...bigger, than the other behemoths." Stratos was now attracting the attention of Thrisle the Wardmoth. The sadistic behemoth didn't seem to mind that it was getting aggroed all over the place between the two of them. In fact, it seemed to enjoy their struggle in trying to get its attention. Almost as if it was just sort of having a jolly good time switching who it could maim and flay with its ghastly chain sickle. Stratos knew though, that with the two of their efforts combined, both he and Karina would be able to stop this Wardmoth without that much trouble. As the aggro had been drawn onto him, he watched as the behemoth started to swing his scythe around without a care in the world. Eventually, he gripped the grip of the sickle blade itself, and threw it straight a Stratos. This time, the attack seemed telegraphed enough that he wasn't going to get caught off guard from it. Stratos swerved to the side, causing the sickle to completely miss, only fro him to then see a lantern fly right at him. Though the lantern came crashing down right at him...it did no damage. Well that was certainly a weird lantern. As nothing really happened in regards to the lantern, Thrisle the Wardmoth was then ambushed by Karina. She seemed to give him a good sort of pounding, breaking him down and just generally kicking his ass. It was then that after taking a large chunk out of his health, she had been pushed back. While he thought that the attack was probably going to be good enough to kill Thrisle, as did Karina, it showed no signs of deterring in the slightest. In fact, now Lucda the Purimoth was on the scene as well. It started to shooting at Karina with no intent of letting up any time soon. It was horrifying to watch in fact. Karina was unable to move, most likely due to her own fatigue, and Lucda was firing his guns out straight at her. The shots were deterred by the aero barrier he had cast earlier, but that wasn't enough to keep the sustained burst of damage that was coming at her. It was a terrible feeling to be completely powerless and watch as one of his comrades was getting injured, right in front of him. No matter how fast he got to her aid, there would be nothing he could do to actually save her from the onslaught of attacks she was getting hit by. It was then that Thrisle the Wardmoth let out a large cackling laugh, almost as if it was enjoying the spectacle far more than anything should have. It seemed to be having a hoot and holler at not only Karina's pain, but also Stratos's internal suffering. Almost as if this was some sort of grand comedy show he was watching, and that the punchline on a joke with far too much buildup on it had hit. As it continued to bare that sinister malovelant smile on its face, it started to spin its sickle chain around, and turned to face Karina. He seemed to want to finish the young lady off while she was down on the ground and couldn't do much to it. Stratos wanted to go in and help her, but there was absolutely nothing he could do. He was at an angle in which no matter where he cut the thing using zantetsuken, it would still fly by and impale Karina. Powerless to stop anything in this fight, he looked onward in just sheer absolute horror. It was then that the white haired man himself stepped in and stopped the blade. Using Zantetsuken, Beuce had managed to cleave the sickle away and save Karina himself. It was then that Lucda and Thrisle's tag team operation was coming to an end. Despite their combined efforts to fight against him, Beuce had eventually managed to close the distance between him and the other two heartless and had completely put an end to all of their teamwork shenanigans. Killing Thrisle the Wardmoth with a brave shot, their issues of dealing with two behemoths was gone. It was then that Beuce had positioned himself in a pretty good position and yelled out to Stratos to go assist Karina. Getting out of his daze of just being a spectator at that point, Stratos quickly rushed over to the injured Karina's position. He felt an overwhelming sense of guilt for this really, like he had completely failed at being some sort of support. This was problematic actually. He was starting to feel overwhelming guilt for just about everything bad that happened to everyone now. With this kind of mindset he'd probably end up becoming too distracted to fight and just get even more people hurt, not to mention this was still probably his fault anyway. Regardless he had to think of something to do here. "Sorry for not getting the behemoth finished fast enough," he let out a half hearted chuckle and said, "guess neither of us are really good at feeling good about ourselves right now." He used the MP he had just recovered from his last barrage against Thrilse to cure Karina, but he knew it was not going to be enough to get her back on her feet anytime soon. So instead he finished off by going to extreme measures and actually using a potion on her. This kind of happened solely by way of Stratos just throwing it into the air, but it still magically created a healing aura around her anyway. Items were weird. After that he said, "alright, just take a short breather before getting back into the action so that your body doesn't feel weird going into combat after being healed just like that. " After he made sure she was okay, Stratos went in and directed the attention of Lucda, the Purimoth. While Beuce may have been pestering it, the fact that Stratos was targetable made it all the more favorable to start targeting him instead, allowing Beuce to do whatever he felt like in terms of damage. Stratos was now continuing to evade the attacks of this god damn spectral behemoth. Flying around on his keyglider, the maniacal behemoth that was Thirsle the Wardmoth. On the bright side, Kel had managed to take away the aggro of Lucda, so the two only had to deal with Thrisle. Be that as it may, Thrisle was still an interesting heartless to be dealing with. He wasn't quite like the troll that Shac the Clownmoth was, no. This one, Thrisle, seemed to get a jolly out of their struggle and suffering. He was quite the sadist when it came to the keyblade wielders. Swinging his sickle around, he started to try and flay the young keyblade wielder, only for him to completely avoid the attack altogether by boosting to the side. However, the sickle then came towards him again and tried to latch onto him again. Again, his keyglider was hooked, and started to be pulled back towards him. However, he was not going to let this, really good at skill shotting, behemoth get the better of him. Jumping off of the glider, Stratos managed to avoid the eminent doom that would have followed, what with the behemoth pulling himself towards the glider and crashing into it. It was then that Karina came in to attack the heartless with more of her attacks. She then shouted to him that he should take a break and that she could totally handle Thrisle the Wardmoth herself. While she started to tell him that she owed him at least that much, he wasn't entirely sure how to take it. Well, more like he didn't know how to take the sitting out part. It was true, Stratos felt more exhausted and fatigued than he had ever felt in his life. It was also true that this was clearly visible as his body was covered in sweat, and his breathing was heavy. And while he knew that Karina was a capable fighter, and he knew that he was more suited to a support role, he didn't want to just sit on the sidelines doing nothing. However, he wasn't having much of a choice at this moment as he realized that he struggled to just keep his balance on the ground. It was like his legs were telling him that he needed to start resting soon, or else he wouldn't have legs to use. Even still, he'd persevere through this fight. Regardless he still cast Aero on his teammate in order to keep her in the fight longer, and not get completely killed if a single attack managed to hit her. Casting cure on himself, he used as a temporary fatigue counter. It was true that it wasn't completely the best, or even the healthiest option, but still, it was better than nothing. Being able to regain his balance, Stratos quickly threw his keyblade into the air, and created his keyglider, jumping on it and starting to get ready to fly off and help his teammate out. Boosting forward, he shot out towards the heartless warden with a sickle and threw his keyglider out towards the behemoth. Thrisle's attention was then refocused onto Stratos, with a sinister smile on its face. The sickle then retracted back into his spectral flame, and its hand poofed a glaive (again, the pole arm kind.) Thrisle the Wardmoth then took off towards Stratos running at crazy fast speeds and swinging his glaive around in a perfect circle wherever he went. When he got close, the heartless then attacked by jumping at him, and axing down at him. Stratos was able to jump off his keyglider just in time, and managed to avoid the hit just in time. Well that was good reflexes right there. Warping his keyglider under his feet, Stratos managed to fly away and draw away Thrisle once more. So Stratos had begun flying around even more to evade and not get shot down by all of the shots directed at him. Lucda the Purimoth seemed pretty intent on bringing him down already. Walking around on both of its behemoth sized legs, he soon did a short dash at him, and started firing two little pulses of light energy at him. Stratos was able to strafe around these shots, but was then taken by surprise by the giant sickle chain that came at him from behind the gunslinger heartless. The sickle narrowly missed him, and while he was glad that he didn't' get stabbed, he realized that this was probably one of the most dangerous situations he had put himself in yet. There was absolutely no way he could deal with fighting two behemoths, especially special ones, at a time. Granted, given all the behemoths he had fought thus far, he was starting to wonder if being special was just the norm among these creatures. Regardless, he had to continue evading around and make sure he didn't get completely flayed or culled by either of these creatures. Why these two adjectives specifically? Like the metaphor made in another person's post, the world may never know. It was then that Thrisle got his ass handed into him by Karina. Though he was happy to see his teammate try and help him deal with this behemoth, it was at that moment that he noticed something. She seemed way calmer than before. The attacks she let out weren't some sort of brutal flailing about or some sort of wild beastial attack style. While she was far from perfect zen master, it was good to see that she had regained her composure. And so the duo basically had to focus down Thrisle now, as he was the one that Karina was laying into. Perhaps Kel and Beuce would be able to take on Lucda the Purimoth themselves for the time being then. Alright, so with that out of the way, he watched as Thrisle looked over to Karina and started to basically let out this sort of maniacal laugh. The thing seemed to enjoy the pressure that it was recieving and so Stratos had to go in and help her...as soon as he caught his breath. Well that was bad. Turned out he was still pretty damn exhausted, but it wasn't something that could keep him down permanently. Getting his composure back, Stratos jet off towards Thrisle and started to try and focus him down as well. Throwing his keyglider like a weapon, as he done so many times prior in this fight, and got the attention of good old Thrisle away from her. He then proceeded to start pounding into the ghastly spectral behemoth's horn by summoning his keyblade to his hand and starting to completely lay into it. Letting loose an air combo that he followed with a vorpal blitz, he seemed to be damaging it, until the behemoth seemed to give no cares about this and start spinning his chain sickle around. The chain sickle then went forward towards Stratos who, luckily, managed to guard against it in the nick of time. The attack still hurt, and he was still sent flying through the air, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. He then summoned his keyglider underneath his feet and started to try and fly away from the creature, only for it to try and spike the chained sickle at him with great force and speed. Still avoiding the attack, Stratos managed to draw the aggro back to him allowing Karina to lay into it. Okay, so things had gotten a lot weirder as Stratos was flying around, trying to distract Thrisle the Wardmoth. Sometime in between him having to dodge between all of the sickle attacks, that Beuce had joined the fray once more. Well it was good to see that he was back in the job. However, with him came a new behemoth. It was a dark skinned behemoth, bipedal as well. Well that seemed to be the new standard of the behemoths. Ones that walked on all fours were just not in style anymore. Though looking at Thrisle,he supposed that all fours wasn't really all their legs that they could have either. However, despite this, he still looked onward at the new enemy. Within both of its claw hands, it held two pistols, that seemed to be capable of firing bullets made of raw light. Well that seemed to be pretty interesting. It was then that the boy watched as someone else joined the fray. Someone he was expecting just as much, maybe less than, Beuce rejoining in. It was Kel. Well, with the four wielders now against these two behemoths, there was nothing that could stop them. Stratos flew over to the trio of keyblade wielders. As he got next to them he said, "okay, so I'm just guessing here, but I'm pretty sure the big guy with the twin guns is the main damaging threat. So all we need to do is get rid of him first. However, based on the skill set of the spectral one, it's probably going to try and keep it alive as best as possible. So one way we could do this is have them get tunnel vision essentially. Just one of us going in and making it so that they focus so much on that one person that they forget to keep track of the others." Thinking about it he said, "our best bet for that kind of a person would be someone who doesn't deal all that much damage and who has knack for pissing off heartless." He then looked at the three of them, and then the realization hit him harder than his palm to his face possibly could have. Sighing he remained on his keyglider and said, "welp, I shall do my job to best of my ability, so good luck on the damage front." With that, he saluted the trio of keyblade wielders and flew off into the sunset...or just imminent destruction. Either one worked really. So anyway, Stratos had now decided to go along with his own plan in which he had inadvertently assigned himself as live bait. Well this wouldn't be the first time, however it would be the first time he did this against two behemoths at once. So anyway, he quickly flew over to them and decided to start things off with a bang. Letting his heart flare up, he quickly had a mini sun form in the palm of his hand, and then threw it straight at the behemoth with the guns. It quickly shot the solar flare out of the air with a twin burst of light from its guns but it had managed to still engulf the both of them and damage them. He then saw the spectral one start to swing its chain sickle around and threw it straight at Stratos. The hook then got around the keyglider, and he could feel a tug on it. He then jumped off the keyglider forseeing a terrible attack, only to proven right as the behemoth pulled itself towards the keyglider. Well that was terrifying. Warping the keyglider back to beneath his feet he quickly took off with the Purimoth and Wardmoth in hot pursuit. Stratos was lying there on the ground. Well he had dun fucked up here. Looked like if he was ever to do anything himself than he seemed to have to put all of his being into just a single fight. Granted, that wasn't even entirely all him. Really without Karina or Beuce that fight would've ended poorly, well more so than it already did, for the young keyblade wielder. He was lying with his back on the ground, staring at the ceiling. His vision was slightly foggy and he could barely get any sort of focus no matter how hard he tried. Drenched in sweat, he simply heaving from the overall exertion he had put on his body. He had known what he was doing was stupid, but just like Karina, he lost himself in his rage. He put way too much into fighting Azima and now he was paying the price. His muscles were screaming at him, continually reminding him of what he had just done. Well, this was a problem. In his fatigue he turned over to see that Karina had also broken back out into a rage like fit and had started pounding on another behemoth. He could hardly blame her or try to dissuade her at this point. If he did, he'd probably look like some sort of hypocrite, that is if he didn't already. But as things stood, he couldn't just lie down and wait for everyone else to do all the fighting. He needed to get back into the action to help everyone, though in his current state he was doubtful of how much that'd actually be. Regardless, he started to get back on his feet rather shakily, and looked onward. He stumbled a bit as he finally managed to stand up, and had to use his keyblade as a support to keep him from falling. Damn this was terrible. He had no strength to fight, even if he really wanted to now. There was no way he could help out Karina in this state. If anything he'd just get in the way, get injured, and cause some sort of break down again. Well that was a huge problem. He couldn't just stand back and do nothing though. After all this time that he had fought for, to be done in by his own over exertion. Pretty funny when you think about it. It was as he was beginning to give up on himself, that he felt another force from within just cast cure on him. No, this wasn't just cure. This was something way stronger. Overall, he was pretty confused as to where it came from, but it felt like it had been given to him with the same sort of annoyance that the voice from earlier spoke with. Regardless, his body felt like it could, at the very least, move again, and Stratos was ready to get back into the fight. Looking forward he saw the behemoth before him to be something of a different one. Its body was that one of that seemed to be almost ghastly in apperance, being made of some dead looking black gray material, and its innards to be quite like Azima's. In that there was no physical presence within them. In fact, the only thing within the behemoth was some sort of large green fiery mass, and the behemoth seemed to have some sort of extremely haunting aura to it. Keys jingling on its waist, because it had those for some reason, this behemoth seemed to be one that felt as though it wanted to detain them more than catch them. Stratos imagined a raven perched on its shoulder for a second, but quickly shook the notion of that being there away. As Stratos walked over he didn't really know what to say to his teammate. There were no words that came to mind, no matter how hard he tried to think of them, and it was probably one of the worst feelings he had had in awhile. All he could really say was, "I'll take the aggro now." All that he needed to do now was fight and kill these behemoths. That was it. If he could do that, then he could hopefully not let anyone die. Though, he wasn't entirely in charge of what these behemoths did, as evident of what happened to Beuce, he could do his best to try and make sure that no one else had to take any punishment from them. With this sort of mindset there, he quickly got on his keyglider and took off towards the new behemoth. He flung his keyglider out from under him, knocking it into the face of the the behemoth and drawing its attention away from whatever it was paying attention to before. The behemoth created a chain from its arm, with the end of the chain holding a sickle there. The chained weapon seemed to be extremely large, and this was proved further when it tried to strike Stratos down with the weapon. The attack seemed to come at him extremely fast, though thankfully he was able to use his keyglider to block the attack in time. The chain then seemed to recede back into the ghastly flame and Stratos noticed something about this behemoth. It had the ability to use its arms...but it was also on four legs. What the hell was this thing? Regardless of that answer, the behemoth created a large glaive in his hand, (the actual pole arm kind,) and then let loose a roar and started to charge at Stratos. He knew behemoths were fast, but this one seemed to be outpacing his keyglider, which only Derpy had done thus far. As the ghastly behemoth closed in, it leaped at Stratos, who responded to the attack by flinging his keyglider at the blade. This caused the behemoth to simply swat away the glider instead of its rider, and so Stratos was able to warp his vehicle back and fly away to safety. Spoiler: Beuce Dies Stratos had continued flying around, trying to make sure this behemoth didn't do anything to his partner while she got ready to attack. And so, with the plan set in motion, Stratos continued flying around, taunting the opponent as he went. Azima the Xermoth seemed to completely want to destroy Stratos, and so all he could really do about this was not die. Simple enough, really. Azima, though started off going really strong on him. Raising its arms to the air like it just couldn't care, it first sent out this giant death bolt of white and blue energy straight at Stratos, just as it had normally. However, Stratos was able to continue seeing the path of where the linear burst was going to go, and thus he could completely avoid the strike. It was then that the behemoth followed up with creating a small circle around him, and letting loose a meteor of arcane energy drop from the ceiling and towards the center of the circle. Thankfully, Stratos had managed to completely avoid the strike by...not even entering the circle in the first place.Well that was lucky of him. Though, he knew that the fight wasn't just over yet, and that'd there'd be more strikes to evade coming up next. It was then that the attacks started coming from his partne- actually it was Beuce. Well that was really unexpected. He watched as Beuce came in, only to get completely shut down by Azima's next skill. It created a wall of phalanx sand behemoths, pushing the keyblade wielder back and knocking him away. It then let loose a strike that seemed exactly the same as the one it had used previously with a polearm, only with its tusks this time. Hitting Beuce away, Stratos continued to watch in horror as both of his teammates seemed to be getting a barrage of raw energy attacks flung at them, it was then that using his own body as a shield he managed to spare Karina from taking a hit. Watching the scene happen before him, Stratos was only able to stand there in silence. Was this the extent of what he could actually do? Maybe Karina was right in the fact that he couldn't save everyone. And maybe he was wrong for thinking that he could save a single person. After all, he was nothing more than a puppy in a pack of wolves. However, none of that mattered anymore. The entire scene had rattled him and sort of broke his calm demeanor. The expression on his face seemed to be blank, but pure rage was filled in the eyes of this young keyblade wielder. His entire body felt dumb to the world around and suddenly he had some sort of tunnel vision happen, as all he could see before him was Azima the Xermoth. The others didn't quite matter right now. What mattered was the fact that this behemoth was trying and succeeding in hurting his comrades. Thinking back on it, this same sort of thing happened to Karina earlier, though he was too busy fighting to realize what had happened. To realize fully how he had nearly failed at his single goal. So it wasn't quite Azima to blame for this situation. It was the entire behemoth race as a whole. They were nothing more than detestable beings that needed to be killed if everyone was ever going to be safe. He flung the keyglider out from under him at Azima, grabbing the attention of the behemoth and having it turn to face the keyblade wielder. He stared directly into its eyes, with nothing but a feeling of malice being directed towards the being. If he couldn't save everyone from them, than maybe he could get revenge for them. Spoiler: The Empire Got Struck Back The finale between the keyblade wielders and Azima the Xermoth had begun. The behemoth, was still glowing in a purple light and had grown much large than before, decided to ascend ever higher. It grew larger, even more so than it already was, and even more changed about it. It's ancient rock like plating that seemed to cover it seemed to grow scales over it, and a larger dust storm seemed to gather around the ascended behemoth. While it had looked far more terrifying than before, Stratos continued to just stand there on his keyglider, unflinching and undeterred. The behemoth, having become much larger than normal, than spawned in its pole arm weapon that it had been using thus far. It empowered the head of the blade with a purple light as it brought the blade into the air, gripping the handle with both hands. The attack seemed to have only grown stronger in terms of raw strength, and single hit from this would surely mean the end of Stratos. The boy still didn't seem to have a change in expression as the blade was fully raised and about to come down on him. Stratos raised one of his hands, with his heart blazing with some sort of raw energy. A mini sun seemed to form in his palm, though the boy just stood there with that attack in his hand, ready to collide with something. As Azima the Xermoth brought the axe head down, Stratos simply put his hand with the sun in it to intercept the blade. As the large glowing weapon landed with his Trip Around the Sun, the sun exploded into a large dazzling and brilliant golden and red color, flaring all over the place. The sun seemed to expand so that it only enveloped the blade, and as Azima pulled the handle out of the sun, it was actually surprised to see the results of the attack. His axe head was no more, and with that, the pole arm had effectively become useless. Having taken such a large amount of damage from the attack, the pole of the weapon started to grey and crumble away into nothing more than dust in the wind, never to be used by this behemoth again. As Stratos stared at the creature, completely unimpressed by the display, Azima seemed to become enraged at the act that the boy had just done. Azima called forth its second close ranged weapon. The crescent shape blade radiated with purple light and was much much large than before, it too being affected by the ascended state of all the behemoth. Azima was no longer trying to show off and thus it did a spining strike to cleave the boy in two right from the get go. However, Stratos had managed to jumped off of his keyglider and land on the blade as it was spinning around. The behemoth seemed stunned at the display of reaction timing, but Stratos remained stoic as he landed on the blade. He then raised his hand to the sky and in a flash of light, his keyblade had returned to his hand. With crimson rose petals falling from the sky, as opposed to the usual cherry blossoms, Stratos looked at the blade he was on and spotted what he needed to see. In a single, blindingly fast strike, he had managed to split the blade in two, with it suffering from the same fate as the pole arm, crumbling into nothing more than dust in the wind. Due to his action, though, Stratos had started to free fall, only for him to summon his keyglider back from underneath him. He then created a short amount of distance between both him and the behemoth. His stoic, yet enraged, face continued to stare deep at the behemoth. The boy who had absolutely no strength, the weakest of the lot, seemed to be tearing all of its tools apart. Azima actually seemed to be somewhat frightened of the mouse it had backed into the corner, and thinking that he was going to try some sort of technique on his keyglider, he called forth the legion of sand warriors he had used earlier. Creating a clear divide of shields out of the sand behemoth phalanx, the behemoth had felt fully safe from his attacker. However, the keyblade wielder didn't seem to care about the wall at all. In fact, something strange had happened again. The blood red petals started falling once more, and Stratos seemed to get ready to attack once more. The only thing that this behemoth couldn't stop with that wall was an unstoppable dash. And with that, Stratos had appeared on the other side of the behemoth, keyblade now in hand, with a giant slash going through the behemoth. He watched as Azima seemed to be in some sort of shocking agony from the singular strike, and started to erupt with energy every which way. The purple aura it had gained, the sandstorm that was trailing around it and its massive size increase all seemed to dissipate as the behemoth's stone plating skin seemed to close in on itself. When the plated had all been joined back together once more, they grew black, letting out wisps of smoke from them. The behemoth slowly melted into nothing more than a pool of darkness and black smog, as its heart seemed to fly out from it and ascend to the sky above. Just like all other hearts before it had, this one soon seemed to be collected by some sort of dark smog and vanished. The other large quantities of darkness spawned from this behemoth all seemed to disappear as well, leaving Stratos as the victor against Azima the Xermoth, and dwindling the behemoth number to under half of their original amount at North Side. Spoiler: The Backstory Stuff Stratos, however, was not feeling alright after the fight had been finished. In fact, in his blind fury, he forgot to not do something that he had previously decided on. He had used Zantetsuken twice in a row without worrying about its cool down in the slightest. And so he started to gasp for air as he collapsed to the ground. The fatigue was starting to get to him, but his job was far from over. There were still more heartless that needed to be slain, and so he had to pick himself back up once more. It was then that he looked over to see that both Beuce and Karina were still alive, and while the former was a little worse for wear, were somewhat fine. Picking up his raging inferno of a sore body and dragging it over to the two, he sluggishly cast cure on both of the wielders, though didn't have enough MP for himself to do so. He soon collapsed onto the ground near them and was wheezing pretty hard. It took him a bit to catch his breath, but when he did, he managed to turn himself over and look at both of the party members. "So," his words were more directed towards Karina, "you kept wondering as to why I refuse to let anyone here die. It's much simpler than I tried to make it sound, seeing as I was trying to individualize rather than just give you the core of the ideal." He sighed as he recounted memories of his world and said, "so I guess you could say my situation back home was one that belongs in fairy tales and the like. With my world being constantly engulfed in a never ending war, a boy who appeared out of nowhere toting a magical weapon is pretty darn special. So special that everyone expects something of you. There's a certain standard you have to meet as a sort of hero figure. The only problem was," he gestured at his clear fatigue, "I'm pretty weak. No matter who needed help or where, I couldn't do anything to help anyone. Despite whatever made me special, my life was only answered in failure." The image of a masked man with some sort of gleeful darkness behind it continued to haunt him as he said this, "and so when I left to try and help all the other worlds out, I guess I had gotten sick of all of my failure, and figured that if I truly tried my hardest here, that maybe I could be successful in that goal." He sighed finishing saying, "but I'm not entirely sure how well that's worked out here." It was then that Moksha forgot he could attack...since he goes first.
Stratos was rolling around at the speed of sound, like he had places to go, and had to follow a rainbow... except he wasn't going that fast...and he wasn't rolling. Regardless, he was still flying around on his keyglider trying to not get killed by Azima the Xermoth. So this was a bit of a tricky situation as he had been able to see that it could still do even more attacks than he had previously seen, as shown with it fighting Karina. The first thing he had to be afraid of was that it was using these hyper long range attacks that were zoning him out completely. And even in close range it could still let loose a wide variety of skills against him. Man this just wasn't really fair right now. Regardless, he had to keep up his dodging antics and let Karina do her thing in order for the both of them to skillfully take down this behemoth. However, while this behemoth was aggroed onto him, it summoned more Sand Behemoth Hoplites and did something new with them. It pulled itself closer to Stratos by using its tether with sand warriors and then followed this up with a linear energy burst, knicking his glider and forcing him to fall. It was then that the sand hoplite behemoths charged forward at him, and then proceeded to stab at him once more. Stratos got up quickly and guarded against the spear strikes with his keyblade, but was still sent back by the attacks regardless. Well this seemed to be quite the fine pickle he was in. While the behemoth warriors crumpled away, Azima still looked like he was ready to kill Stratos. When all hope seemed lost, Karina came in like a wrecking ball and proceeded to bring the opponent down. With keyblade in hand, she managed to piss the thing off enough with her variety of attacks. Though the final straw was an attack of epic proportions, one that Stratos had basically been abusing this entire match, though had stopped once he got to North Side. Man, he'd probably have to try and finish something off with it during one of these behemoth fights. Regardless, after Karina had used Trip Around the Sun against the ascended behemoth, it was now thoroughly pissed at her. Well that was good for Stratos to do his minimal damage against it. And so, he flew towards the behemoth and awaited a good time to strike. Though he didn't take long in finding this opportunity, he quickly closed the distance between the two and began his onslaught of attacks against the behemoth. Granted, he had barely anything in way of attacks, but that wasn't going to stop him here just yet. And so, he flew to the behemoth's horn and started to hit it with an air combo strike against its horn. After the third hit landed, he proceeded to chain in Vorpal Blitz, he and after that finished he proceeded to do another air combo, ending his attack string against Azima the Xermoth, he got the attention of the behemoth alright, as it turned to face him. The magus ascendant emperor behemoth then decided to attack him with just its giant crescent blade, only the blade seemed empowered now. Guarding in mid air against the attack, he was sent hurtling through the air, and felt stunned from the attack as well. Despite hitting the ground, hard, he was still in a favorable position as Azima couldn't actually follow it up with anything. After recovering, Stratos started to fly away and now had the aggro on him, allowing Karina to do stuff. The fight between the two had continued onward, with the oncoming pressure of Azima the Xermoth to continually put Stratos on the defensive. There was virtually nothing the young keyblade wielder could do to fight against the behemoth other than stall. Seeing as there were five other people here, all far more capable fighters than he was, he believed that at least one of them would be able to help him out in this fight. Really the only one who he could understand not doing so was Karina, due to her overall exertion. Sure, they had their time to rest after their moment of talking with each other, however this behemoth had seen fit to interrupt their resting period by just sort of starting to attack them. Regardless, he would persevere against the threats that all of these behemoths clearly were. As he was thinking about this, he saw Azima continue to float there, looking as if it were higher than any other being here. He didn't realize that heartless were capable of really expressing emotions, but Shac seemed to enjoy everything it was doing, while Azima looked as if it were extremely full of itself. Well, all the more reason to bring this thing down. It was then that, despite probably happening awhile ago, Stratos then knew all about Karina's past, and why she was who she was. Well if she was sharing backstory then he probably would have to too. However, that would come for after the behemoth fight was done. For now, Stratos just had to draw its aggro away from his partner while she did the pulverizing. Stratos quickly got on his keyglider to try and strafe around this thing and lead it away, however, before he could summon it something felt off. His body felt like it was moving way slower than, almost as if there was some sort of weird aging process within his body which made him go all the slower. It was then that Azima created his polearm again and lit up a purple light over the bladed part of it. Gripping the weapon with both hands, it proceeded to do an attack it had previously. Stratos managed to be able to force his body to preform Zantetsuken, and counter the attack in much the same way he had previously. After that had been done with, the aging effect seemed to be gone from his body, and everything seemed to be normal once more. It was then that Azima proceeded to just dissipate the polearm, but still waved his hand to the side, creating a large purple circle over the area where Stratos was standing. As light shot up from it, Stratos could feel himself getting damaged and his defense stat dropping. He thought this attack was actually pretty similar to one of Da'Ve the Voidmoth's attacks, and so he dodged it in exactly the same way he had against the aforementioned behemoth. After dodge rolling out of the circle, he felt the pain subside and his defense stat return to normal. He then saw the energy like behemoth follow it up with hurling a ball of black and blue energy straight at him. He quickly put up his keyblade to block the strike, and while he did block a good deal of the impact, he still felt as though his body was stunned afterwards. Thankfully, Azima did not follow up with any sort of actual attack, and so Stratos was able to become unstunned and could swiftly get away from it. Now all that was left was for his partner to go in and beat the ever living shit out of it now. Azima the Xermoth was proving to be quite the interesting foe here. This wide variety of attacks it seemed to have didn't seem to follow any sort of theme in the slightest. Just that hey, looky here, now it had a polearm. And now it fired energy attacks. And now i did other things. He was wondering just what was up with all of these behemoths. Now he had never seen a behemoth heartless before, but he was pretty sure the first one they fought was basically a regular behemoth. At least in terms of appearance. So why was it, that every behemoth there after was something absolutely ridiculous? Stratos, quite frankly, didn't really care for the answer right now. Though he did realize something, and that something was that there was absolutely no way he was going to be able to hit this thing. Due to the wider from variety of attacks than Metal Heart MOTH, Stratos had absolutely no way of approaching this thing. So what was he going to have to do? Well, what he'd like to do is put faith in one of his teammates to help fight this thing while he basically flew around and distracted it for everyone else to be able to attack it. Though really, the person he had the most faith in to attack this thing was Karina because...she did stuff. Anyway, this behemoth seemed to be starting up another attack on nonsensical proportions. A large ring appeared in its hand, and from that ring, four blades spurted out. It then started spinning the blade around like it wasn't really anything, and then chucked the four bladed, "glaive", like thing at him. As the blade came towards him, Stratos was pretty afraid of it at first...until he realized that the behemoth had thrown it too hard in a linear direction. And since the behemoth was taller than him...well basically the blade flew right over his head. Stratos looked onward as the blade then spun back and returned to its owner like a boomerang. When the blade returned it seemed rather unimpressed at the results, and dissipated the weapon. It then did something...really unexpected. All the segments of the rock plating seemed to expand further outward, and shaped themselves together into a new ball like shape. With behemoth now being basically a ball, it just rolled at Stratos, who had to started running the hell away from it. Of course, the ball continued to come after him, and he had no real idea what to do about it, until the ball eventually stopped Well, that was lucky. However, he didn't seem to stop with just that. It was then that the behemoth seemed to do something really weird. As it got out of its ball form, it seemed to call forth these little behemoths made of sand, that were also bipedal. However, these behemoths seemed to be toting around a spear and a shield, kind of like a hoplite or something. There was a small tether of sand that seemed to connect both the behemoth and his soldiers together. While Stratos was curious what this meant, the two sand behemoths seemed to then started just striking at him. Having to dodge roll quickly, he managed to avoid the spear strike and create some distance. He was also pretty confused as the sand behemoths did not seem to chase after him in the slightest, and just remained stationary. Eventually the sand holding them up together seemed to fall apart, and they returned to being nothing more than dust in the wind. OOC: Split into spoilers once more for precisely the same reason as before. Spoiler: Actual Character Interaction Stratos continued to fly away from the large bodies believing that this plan was totally going to work. Wait...Stratos didn't have a plan. This time, when had taken the aggro away from Karina it was not due to some masterful aggro drawing plan, no. It was the product of him having some sort of childish spite fit and not letting her have the aggro at all. While Stratos was usually good at keeping a level head, after letting out that sort of outburst, he had realized that his threshold had somewhat broke, and that now he was basically just doing things out of annoyance. However, regardless of whatever he might have been doing now, his original plan was going strong. All the aggro was on him and Karina, in all her blind fury, was jumping around and letting loose just about every skill she had in the book to kill them all. Well, all but one, but that was at least better than her just taking all the aggro back onto her again. With the one left, Stratos was going to deal with it himself, but he had bigger issues to deal with first. And that bigger issue was a thoroughly exhausted Karina. While he didn't really understand why she kept declaring to herself that she wasn't weak, he did hear what she was saying about why he was doing what he was doing. Why he had consistently been trying to save her from basically getting herself killed this entire damn mission, when there were clearly so many other people that were "more" worth saving. He simply flew over to her and sighed, trying to calm himself down from the overall break in his patience he had. "Listen, I don't really see why you think there are other people here who are worth more saving than you are. Though, I suppose there is a reason why I'm helping you. First, and probably more obvious, is that you and I are basically a team now. After all, who was it that was tearing through heartless alongside me at east side. Out of the four of us there, was there anyone other than you and I actually doing something productive...the entire time?" He had to add that last part for his other comrade who had magically disappeared after showing up for the very end of the fight. "And neither of us could have done that without the other." "However, other people already grasp this sense of team collaboration, and so they don't need to be saved as urgently as you do. Karina, you are probably one of the strongest people I know, but that doesn't mean you are invincible." He then decided to conclude it with saying, "besides, you think your life is worthless, and so you use that to justify hurling yourself head first into the enemy front lines and trying to take everything on by yourself. But how are you going to ever feel like your worth something if you keep doing this. After all, what with that extreme rage burst, you don't look like you feel any better about yourself." As he had finished answering all of her self worth questions and stuff, the last large body waddled over to them. He looked at it with an annoyed expression, and didn't really want to deal with this sort of thing right now. In fact, after all this talking, he had realized he had mostly just wanted to rest for a bit. However, the large body was giving him no such quarter. And so Stratos ismply waved his hand and hit the thing with a fireball exploding it into black smoke. "Now then, I know there's still some more heartless to kill, but everyone seems to have things handled for a bit, and I think we should both rest up for just a little bit. After all, we've been going three times as harder than just about everyone here." After that, Stratos laid down on his keyglider to get his breath. Spoiler: New Challenger Approaches As the duo had finished resting up after x amount of time, there was a new threat on the horizon. Their next foe that needed to be dealt with, was coming towards them. And this next foe was not one to be trifled with. A large amount of pressure could be felt throughout the entire room as the sixth of the north side behemoths came into view. The behemoth in question seemed to take on the standard appearance for the bipedal behemoths, as it casually walked in on its hind two legs. The thing that seemed off about it was that its body looked to be made of some sort of rock. While the giant metal behemoth that Metal Heart MOTH was also off, this thing's rock body seemed to be made from some sort ancient rock. It looked worn out, scratch marks all across it with any sort of decoration that once covered it to be faded and blended in with the rest of the rock. Furthermore, it didn't look like this thing was made of rock, as in its skin being made of it. Instead, the rock seemed to be more so like some sort of stone plating, segmented and joined together by something. As the thing breathed, it seemed to do so heavily. It looked at the keyblade wielders with dull eyes, lacking the same luster the rest of the body lacked. Furthermore, the final standing out point of the thing's body was the large keystone like object that was placed right on its chest. Few tense moments passed by, as Stratos awaited just what this behemoth was going to do, it seemed to finally be ready to fight. A heartless emblem suddenly emblazoned itself across the keystone, and the behemoth's eyes started to glow a white blue color. It let out a loud, distorted sounding, roar as the same blue light that was in its eyes seemed to take form across the rest of its body. Blue light trailed across all of the spaces between the segments, until finally the creature's body was lit up, radiating with light. The rock plates seemed to start to drift apart and expand outward, with the keystone being seemingly chained to the pieces around it and being unable to move outward. As the behemoth had finished its transformation, he inside of the beast was revealed. With some sort of glowing white apparition within it, that seemed to stretch the entire length of the body, the being seemed to be connected by seemed to be held together by some sort of energy. From the white apparition with in the body, lightning of the white blue color was radiating from it, connecting the apparition to the rock exterior. Stratos wasn't entire sure what to make of this new foe, as this one also was quite different from the rest of them. However, if he could take on a behemoth that was made entirely out of metal and a behemoth that move at mach speeds, then he could probably take on a behemoth made of rock and pure energy. Stratos looked to the thing and stared cautiously at it. He couldn't afford to be careless against another foe, and he couldn't afford to lose his cool. Granted that was something that he had lost just moments ago, but he hardly believed that this behemoth would criticize him for trying to help it out. Especially because Stratos probably wasn't going to be helping out this behemoth at all. Regardless, he turned his attention back to the thing and realized that it probably disliked internal monologues as much as Shac had, and was now getting ready to attack him. "Looks like our time for action is calling back to us." Spoiler: Q This behemoth, Azima the Xermoth, was some sort of an oddity when it came to attacks. While most behemoths tended to rely on just raw physical might or armaments, this one seemed to be pretty magical. First, it just thrust its palm forward and let loose a small energy bolt that flew at, and seemed to home in on, Stratos. He quickly put up his keyblade to block against the attack, and it seemed to bounce off harmlessly enough. However, something was a bit odd about the impact. Rather than feeling like some sort of magical attack, it actually seemed to bring more of a physical impact to it. Well that was pretty weird. Startos didn't really think much of this, and started to try and attack the thing...wait a second. Where was he supposed to hit this thing. It was, after all, just rock held together by lightning. Sure, Karina's brute force would probably work against just about any surface, hell she probably could have torn apart Metal Heart MOTH without any sort of reaction commands. However, Stratos was not about that whole brute strength life. And he had a single point of MP left, so spamming magic was a bit out of the question. While he was thinking about this, Azima the Xermoth decided to attack him with its next attack within its arsenal. It raised both of its hands into the air, and seemed to be gathering energy between them. The space between the hands was soon filled with a blue sphere, with white interior light to it. As the attack continued to charge, eventually two green lines formed from where it was to a set distance away from Stratos. However, he was between these lines and realized that only bad things could happen from it. He quickly put up his keyblade to block against the oncoming which strike, which involved the behemoth taking a hadoken like stance and firing a massive linear pulse of energy at him. As the laser connected with the guard of his keyblade, Stratos was able to minimize the overall effectiveness of the attack, though despite this the attack still seemed to pass right through him. Almost as if it was ignoring his physical presence and wanted to keep going. Well, now that was one terrifying ability it had there. He was actually pretty worried about what other abilities it might have if it that just the first of them. The next attack it preformed was somthing he wasn't actually wasn't expecting in the slightest. Rather keep its distance and preform another magical attack, it sort of walked over to Stratos and while materializing a giant halberd into its hand. That was really different. It then had its hands glow up, and gripped the armament with both of its massive hands. Lifting the blade into the air, Stratos knew what was coming next and quickly dodge rolled the way out of the attack. When the hit landed with the ground it created a little pulse, which made Stratos glad that he wasn't there to get hit by it. It then dissipated the polearm it had, and materialized in another close range weapon. Being a crescent shaped blade, with the grip for the blade stretching between both ends of the crescent. With this new weapon, it spun around, trying to cleave everything around him, but Stratos was able to counter this. Standing still as the attack came out, he quickly took his iaido stance and let loose one singular power strike from his keyblade. Using zantetsuken against this attack, Stratos was able to completely stop it, though he was sent back from the resulting force. The being then changed it up again by dissipating the weapon it had just created and switched it up for another weird attack. An attack in which it pointed its arm at him and fired off this little white pulse thing. Stratos quickly regained his footing, and was able to block the attack, but not able to keep his balance anymore. Falling back, he realized that this was definitely a different kind of behemoth. One who had a seemingly unrelated string of moves that could be used at a moments notice. Well that was great. As Stratos started flying around, the large bodies seemed pretty keen on breaking him down with their overall large mass. However, this was sort of what he wanted, as this way Karina was going to be able to just kill all the heartless herself, rather than having to have Stratos actually help her kill them. That is, until he heard her oh so lovely and refreshing voice pierce through his ear drums with nothing more than whining and complaining about what he was doing. Of course. Because usually when someone tries to help you, especially when someone tries to cater to your wants, they usually thank you. But no. This girl seemed to think that whatever Stratos was doing was something so heinously unforgivable that she needed to rant about it to him. After stating the obvious fact of her not being weak, (which Stratos then got a mental image of her murdering him in one shot with her strength,) she then proceeded to tell him that he was an immature prick. That she didn't need any help from anyone, and that other people just weigh her down and piss her off. She then tried to throw his own ideas back at him of wanting to try and save everyone, by telling him that he couldn't. Well, it seemed that she had some sort of modern day philosopher's mind beyond that muscle of hers. Stratos had a pretty high threshold for patience, and was someone who didn't snap easily. This girl was testing that. And sure, seeing as this all took place within a twenty minute interval, it would see that for such a patient guy he lost his temper really fast. However, it felt like they had been at this for a month. Really, time felt like it coming to a crawl. Regardless, she managed to not kill a single of the large bodies, and instead just aggroed them all onto herself. Good job Karina. He then felt like he had some sort of obligation to speak out against her, as she had basically just decided to yell and snarl at just about everyone. Some people would've slapped her. Stratos was not that kind of person, especially because she'd barely feel it and probably break his hand in the process. But at this point, she wasn't just becoming a suicidal fighter, she was probably not going to cool down in a positive way even if she did kill all of these heartless. "Of course you aren't weak!" He had shouted back to the crazy lady. "You are probably one of the strongest people I have ever met. But you know what, even the strong need some help sometimes." He then continued to go off by saying "general of an army is a pretty strong man, but how far do you think he would get if he had no troops to support and back him up, hm?" He then proceeded to shout back at her even more, "and you know what. Maybe you're right. Maybe I can't save everyone. But as of this entire battle, I've only been trying to save a single person. Literally one. So I would hope it is within my capacity as someone who' supposed to help defend multiple worlds across time and space, to be able to at least save one god damn person. So you are getting my help like it or not!" At the end of his little counter rant, he looked at the large bodies and hit them all evenly saying, "now I'm taking this aggro back!" With that, he flew away, with his little flock of heartless in tow. OOC: Post broken into three spoiler tabs for your reading convenience, if you even choose to read this. I know I wouldn't. Spoiler: Needless Exposition Stratos and Metal Heart MOTH were nearing the final moments of their fight. It would be in this instant that the victor between the two would be decided. And by this instant, he meant within the next few hours or so, because hot damn this probably wasn't going to be a quick victory. Stratos had now figured out all the strengths and weaknesses of the weapons..okay, mostly the strengths. He didn't realize how exactly he was going to deal with this thing, as it had basically been zoning the shit out of him this entire time. Okay, so this was a bad situation to be in, but he wasn't going to think about how bad it could be. He was just going to think about the fight ahead of him, and how exactly he could deal with this. The rotary gun cannon thing was perfect for rapid fire, and would tear him to shreds at a moments notice. Not to mention bullets apparently traveled really fast and that was not something he could entirely avoid by just flying around. He could block them, though, but the impact was still pretty strong and could still take him out of the air. Then there was the rest of the arsenal that this thing had. The gatling machine missile cannon arm was another thing to be terrified of. That weapon was what could basically take him out with any sort of aiming whatsoever. Those mini mega flare canisters seemed to home in on him, or rather just the nearest heat source. However, having no ability to use fire to create a larger heat source for these missiles to track, they were now only able to be evaded via just fancy tricks and various other things that he could do in mid air to avoid it. Next up on the weapons was the tail that it had. The tail was an oddly deadly weapon, as it could sweep around every which way, and it could bludgeon the crap out of it. After all, it was giant thick metal weapon, and it was not to be trifled with. Not to mention it could knock him out of the sky. Then there was the fact that it could probably headbutt him to kill him as well. He had no idea why he thought it would be able to do that, but hey, there were strangers things that could happen. Next on the weapons list was the giant shoulder blade rail cannon. While Stratos didn't know that it operated on the principle of using electromagnetism to fire an object out at really fast and lethal speeds, he did know that it was deadly. The projectile that was fired from it was probably going to turn him into nothing more than a fine red mist if it actually connected, so Stratos needed to take extra precautions against that thing. Next up, there was the giant ass laser that it could charge up in its mouth. Usually telegraphed by a giant orange sphere forming, Stratos knew that that attack was also nothing to trifle with, and that this creature could most assuredly hit him with the attack if it let loose the beam. The next most apparent weapon was the giant blade arm that it possessed. That was, oddly amongst all other armaments, one of the most terrifying that it possessed. The blade arm could easily cleave the young keyblade wielder in two without much effort, and so Stratos's only method of defense against it was evasion. If it actually managed to him him, even while he was guarding, it probably wouldn't end well. Then there were some not so apparent weapons that the thing had. There was the original machine guns that it could produce from its body, but those seemed to have no sort of targeting whatsoever, and their positioning was utterly bad for aiming as well. All in all, those body turrets were nothing to actually be afraid of. Though then there was the body missile salvo. While it seemed to have been replaced by the arm cannon, Stratos had an inkling that those were still around, and while they came out in lesser amounts, they were still just as deadly as the other missiles that came from the arm cannon. The final weapon this thing possessed that Stratos needed to be afraid of was itself. That's right, Stratos had to be afraid of the behemoth itself. Behemoth's were physically strong monsters, and the fact that this one was bipedal just made it all the more deadlier. He had remembered his first encounter with a bipedal type, and how he had nearly died. Though this wasn't going to end like that, not at all. After all, by reviewing one's skill set with this thing, he had known just what the difference between the two was. Seeing as he only had Vorpal Blitz and Zantetsuken, and couldn't even cast any magic due to lack of mp, this was to be a fair and even fight between the two. Spoiler: Rules of Nature All exposition out of the way, the fight started with the behemoth actually leaping into the air after Stratos. The young keyblade wielder had to react quickly by flying as fast as he possibly could away from the arm blade, though he was caught off guard as the missile gun cannon arm was now pointed to him. Letting loose a large salvo of missiles at him, Stratos had to keep flying faster and faster to avoid getting blown up. He then used his strike raid-esque attack against the missiles, blowing them up one after another as the keyglider ragodolled along it. Warping the keyglider back under his feet, Stratos finally saw an opportunity as the rotary cannon started revving up. Flying in as fast as possible, the bullets from the weapon managed to miss him completely, and Stratos was able to wail on the leg. As he did, he saw another reaction command prompt come up. Jumping into the air, reacting to the giant green triangle, he jumped into the air and preformed a made up reaction command. The area around him turned a bluish color, and so Stratos had started slashing at this thing every which way. He started hacking and slashing every which way at the main rotary cannon, creating visible lines as he sliced through it. One that was over with, the only thing that remained was the rotary cannon was a heap of scrap. Landing back on the ground after that, Stratos noticed that he was now grounded, and completely unsafe from any oncoming attacks. Specifically, the giant tail that belonged to this thing. Metal Heart MOTH sweeped around and managed to whack his tail at Stratos, who had just barely managed to guard against the strike. Though as he did, he noticed that another reaction command prompt had come up. it was very possible that if he could follow that up, then he would most certainly be able to remove another piece of annoying weaponry. It was then that he saw the opportunity arise as the behemoth, who due to the last attack had his back to Stratos, seemed ready to attack again. Lifting its tail into the air, it smashed the tail down onto the young keyblade wielder. However, Stratos had been able to see this easily telegraphed attack coming, and so he had managed to not just guard the attack, but perfectly parry the attack away. Seeing another reaction prompt come up, he jumped into the air after it, reacting as he went. The tail was now helpless, recovering from the shock, and so Stratos started to attack the thing with his reaction command. While slowly descending, he let out a rapid barrage of attack against the tail, slashing it every which way with the Spellbinder keyblade. Once the reaction command had finished, he had managed to completely rend the tail, and it fell to pieces on the ground. After that was over and done with, he was able to move onto the next weapon. However, while he wasn't sure what that weapon was going to be, it presented itself to him in the form of the missile cannon arm. Landing back on the ground, the arm was pointed at him, and was ready to fire. Okay, so maybe attacking the weapon was out of the question, as Stratos wasn't sure how he was going to live through this. The arm then let loose a barrage of attacks towards him, missiles flew at him, and Stratos saw another reaction command prompt up. Man these things were saving his ass. As the missiles came towards him, Stratos was able to cut them in half before reaching him, thus making it so the missiles didn't hurt him at all. While he didn't know much about these things, he was pretty sure that's not how missiles worked, but that was a non factor right now. Stratos then was prompted to go attack once more, and so he jumped for the arm, and started up another reaction command strike. He started slashing rapidly at the arm, with the finisher to this being him letting loose one strong cut across the connector between arm and body, thus mutilating and severing the missile launcher arm. Well that was going to make this a whole lot easier. To retalite to this, the behemoth then had this metal shield like thing form over its face, and then charged at Stratos with it. As he did, Stratos blocked the strike perfectly, and then proceeded what he had done against all other parts of this behemoth's body. As he cut off the face plate that had formed over its mouth, Stratos quickly got on his keyglider to fly away from a rail cannon strike directed right where he was standing. While he had evaded the impact on the ground, the behemoth then let out a large blast from its mouth, the classic laser attack, and tried to completely kill Stratos that way. While he was able avoid this attack, the rail cannon fired once more and just nicked the tail of his keyglider, sending him flying down. While he had a hard landing, he was able to get himself up, and saw that the behemoth was ready to end this. Bringing up its blade arm to take Stratos down in one shot. Metal Heart MOTH jumped into the air, ready to cleave Stratos in two only for him to react to a reaction command prompt. Bringing his keyblade up, he blocked the attack and was able to start pushing against it with his keyblade. That green aura around him that was given to him from both soldiers suddenly exploded into enveloping a good area around the wielder. With this, he able to push the blade off of his keyblade, and then grabbed it with his bare hands. Using all of his reaction command strength, he was able to spin and throw the thing into the air, (while some random person screamed RULES OF NATURE.) He quickly jumped after it, slashing it along the way. When he had gotten to the head of the behemoth, he jumped off of it and then let one zantetsuken like attack happen and finish off the behemoth. Both he and the behemoth fell to the ground, however it exploded once it landed, and thus Stratos had succesfully defeated Metal Heart MOTH. Spoiler: Attempts at helping With the deed done, everything reverted to normal, and Stratos felt a bit out of breath from the fight. However, he didn't have time collect himself, as Karina was still having trouble herself. She seemed to be absolutely exhausted from the entire ordeal, and was rather beaten and bruised. As he feared, in her current angered state, she was just going to fight like a madman with no regards for her own safety. Well that's what the team support was for. Helping their supportie out of some pretty ****** spots an all. Getting on his keyglider, Stratos flew over to where Karina was fighting the large bodies. As he closed the distance, he saw the bulky opponent that she was fighting. It was a beasty that seemed to be quite defensive due to its large girth, and one that would only serve to piss the lady off even more. Stratos figured he didn't have enough to actually kill them. Granted, he probably wouldn't want to even he could. After all, robbing her of her prey was not going to settle her down any faster. Instead, Stratos decided to fly in there, and simply flew into one, and proceeded to bounce around them like it was pinball game. After having done that, Stratos looked up to see that all of the large bodies, even one's he didn't hurt, were following him. This was the ideal situation and the only thing he could think to do. After all, talking probably wouldn't work, and actually fighting probably wouldn't either. Really he had no idea how well this would work, but to help his carry out, whilst flying away from all of the heartless he casted cure on her twice and then finished with an aero over her. Stratos was continuing his everlasting fight against the Metal Heart MOTH. While it seemed the two were not giving the other an inch, the fight was going clearly in Metal Heart MOTH's favor. There was just about nothing he could do against this thing, and was terrified that he was going to die to this thing for a few short seconds. However, that unfamiliar voice that had told him not to die before echoed in his head. While it was true, he was by no means the main front line attacker, he was still in this engagement. He had faith in everyone here to be able to do there part, and he knew that they wouldn't let him down at all. He needed to rely on his teammates, just as he knew he always had to. That's just how being a support worked. You had to let everyone do the fighting while you made sure that they ended up alright. However, every once in awhile, the support would have to fight for themselves. And so here Stratos was, having to fight against this Metal Heart MOTH. Though, he knew that he wasn't just fighting to win. He was fighting to make sure a comrade of his didn't get herself killed. Metal Heart MOTH had looked towards the keyblade wielder, eyes glowing and ready to tear him apart. Stratos knew that he was nearing that point he had been waiting for. The singular point in which he would finally get his opening to kick this thing's ass in. It also had the feeling that it wanted to kill the keyblade wielder as fast as possible. It started to perceive Stratos as not just mere prey. After all, the boy who had minimal strength had managed to tear off its leg plating and completely destroy its shoulder turrets. It needed to kill this boy just as he needed to kill it, after all, there was no way either could handle the next if the current stood in their way. The Metal Heart MOTH seemed to be taking its time sizing him up, thinking about what he was going to do. Stratos, however, was simply standing there, on his keyglider. He was floating above in mid air, waiting for the behemoth to make its move, however, neither side seemed willing to take the first step, they both believed that that would lead to their folly. However, the behemoth gave into its feral instincts and attacked first. Honestly, Stratos was actually just waiting there to completely psyche the behemoth out. There wasn't much he could do when the thing started attacking, other than dodge, and so he was mostly just buying time. Right now, he was starting to boost as fast and as far away as possible, to try and not to get blown to smithereens, as the behemoth had started the assault off with its gatling missile arm cannon thing. Firing all the missiles at once at him, Stratos hadn't actually hit the thing, and so he still had no MP to use in the first place, and so he had to completely juke out these missiles. Doing a combination of tricks far too complex for this uneducated man to write, Stratos had managed to evade the missiles, having collide against each other in one way or another. It was then that he saw Metal Gear MOTH charging up an orb in its mouth and he knew what was coming next. However, he quickly stopped, did a one eighty and flew the opposite way. The behemoth had ended up leading the shot, and had Stratos kept going his original course, he would've been obliterated. Having successfully dodged, he and the behemoth were about to enter the final stage of combat. Stratos, looking at his foe before him realized something. He was totally, and utterly boned. However! That wasn't going to stop just yet. No! Not in the slightest. In fact, sugar, he was going to go down swinging. It was then, at this moment, that the universe collapsed and the spirits of all the deceased behemoths had formed behind him. Between Satan, shooting mega flare, Michael firing off heavenly laser beams, Metal Heart MOTH firing off bullets and missiles galore, Shac and his rubber balls, Free Willy Cat jumping into the air, whatever UniBertha and Behenzamoth did, that one wind related one, the one that could use aerial slam...using aerial slam, an- oh the match was over...well I guess Stratos just died.
