The blades rang as they clashed, sending a shower of sparks around them. Their figures were like liquid, each trying to best the other, trying to make the other lose ground. Their steps were graceful as they circled each other, fierce when they clashed, and hesitant when they backed away. "C'mon, is that all you got!?" Xavier shouted tauntingly, "You still have the same moves as ever!" "You haven't seen me do any tricks yet!" Bellatrix shouted as she threw the spiked and of her chain, suddenly multiplying into two seconds before hitting Xavier. "What!?" he shouted, barely able to block one as the other hit his rigfht arm, making a huge gash. His left hand, which contained his stainless steel sword, tightened its grip on the obsidian handle, "You little b-!" "Now is that any way for a gentlemen to talk!?" Bella sneered as she sent the chains hurtling at him again. He managed to repel them but they quickly swung back and wrapped tightly around him. He struggled to breathe as they closed in on him, rattling and hissing like snakes. "So, do you give up?" "I'm immortal" he choked out, "I never will" With no warning Bellatrix raised her hands to protect herself from the shrapnels of her broken chains as they flew by her. She was suddenly sent flying back as Xavier tackled her, laughing insanely. "Is that all you have!? Pathetic!" Bella chuckled, lifting herself up as she extended her hand, making a fist suddenly. The shattered pieces of her faithful weapon suddenly floated and went hurling themselves at Xavier, piercing him in hundreds of spots he couldn't defend. He coughed up blood as he dropped to his knees, the mirror behind him cracking. Bellatrix smirked as she walked past him and stopped in front of the mirror. "No matter what, I will be back" Xavier whispered, "I'm your reflection, your shadow, your true past" "I know, I'll be waiting" Bellatrix said as she grabbed the spiked blade of the chain and demolished the mirror, not looking behind at the melting pieces as she continued on her way, eager to see her friends again. Bella treaded down her path alone, her silver eyes darting to the location of every sound and sigh, expecting someone or something to leap out and attack her. The light metal chains felt awkward wrapped around her hands and arms but at the same time natural, despite the fact she hadn’t used them in quite a while. Her fingers were wrapped tightly around the dagger linked at the very end, its ivory handle feeling cool to her touch. As she began to quicken her step, a mirror materialized in front of her. She came to a stop but nearly lost her balance, causing her to reach out and touch it to steady herself. She took a step back, glaring at the sudden obstacle in her path. It was an ordinary mirror about six feet tall, its edges decorated by a plain wooden frame that seemed black. But as Bellatrix stepped forward, she saw the frame was actually burnt, as though it had been on fire for quite a while. Her eyes wandered down to her reflection and she suddenly gasped, seeing a horrible vision. In the mirror was her of course, but it was a twisted version with black hole eyes and an insane smile. Blood drenched it and a fire burned in its background. The real Bellatrix stepped back and glanced behind her, unable to understand why she felt the heat of the imaginary flames. “Scary one aren’t you?†the figure in the mirror growled as it stepped out, still smiling that lunatic’s smile, “Tell me, are you the weakest one? Because it won’t be any fun if you are defeated by your true self alone. A challenge I need, not a historian†Bella chuckled, “Funny, but no, I’m not. I’m done with living in the past. I look towards the future, grasp my own fate, and I see that you’re about to get a painful defeat†“Not likely. I’ve never lost a match and I don’t plan to today, especially not to a girl like you†“Look in the mirror idiot†Bella growled. “Oh, but I am†the figure said, before glancing back at the mirror. In an instant its true self was revealed as a teen around eighteen with tanned skin, golden eyes with flecks of ruby red, and shades of spiky orange hair. He wore a red tank top and baggy khaki cargo pants. His face was narrow and pointed, his body thin and lanky, and his demeanor was cocky and conceited. The mirror glowed, and again there were flames but no reflection of either of them. The stranger saw Bella’s confused face and smirked. “That mirror back there is able to gaze into the future and reveals your fate†he said with a smirk. “Not likely. I don‘t intend to lose. I still have my friends to meet up with†Bella said, a grin on her face, “So who sent you?†“Your brother sends his regards†the stranger said, smirking. “That stupid a-†“Now, now. Is that any way for a lady to talk?†the stranger said mockingly. “And who would you be to correct me?†Bella snarled. “Call me Xavier†he replied with a sneer. Bellatrix stayed quiet for a second, the name striking a chord with her. Yet even as she tried to remember where she had heard it, something about those vibrant eyes made her drop her guard for a second. Only a second. “Well whoever you are, you picked the wrong day to mess with me jer€ “Heh, well we’ll just see won’t we?†Xavier said as they charged for each other.
