The ship? I dunno, it might be made out of a cherry wood. We should get a nice burgundy stain and get at the hull. It'll prevent water damage too, for if we ever need to land in an ocean.

I think the insulting gay joke thing is a bit BS though. If you don't want a word to be used, then don't use it yourself. Simple as that. For myself personally, I pick up language like a sponge. A few years ago, people started saying "ballin'" (not sure if they still do but whatever), and I'm still using the word. Even my daily word usage is messed up by the things I hear. My vocabulary is clean as a whistle until I watch Red vs Blue and then I start swearing like a sailor. If I hear a person say a word or phrase like "that's so gay" often enough, I'll start using it. I'll try not to, but it'll happen.

The language you use is how other people view you. Lots of swears? You seem like a butthead. "That's so gay"? You seem like a homophobic or insensitive person, even if you are gay. I can't tell that you're gay by looking at you! Using your language is spreading your language. The word "quiz" was invented when someone wrote it on every wall in Dublin and look at that, it's a normal part of language. Continued use of the word gay will lead to continued use of the word gay, insulting or not.
