"Sumeragi Lee Noriega?" asked the voice of Yui Ikari, as she approached the similarly-aged woman with an extended hand. "Professor Yui Ikari. Sorry to interrupt your relaxation time, but after today we're all likely to be very busy with events around here, and I'd like to get a head start. Would you possibly be able to give me a little data on the capabilities and specialities of any large-scale equipment you've brought to ZEXIS?"
Sumeragi was somewhat taken aback at how focused this woman was on preparing for what was to come. It slightly reminded her of herself before she had left the military. Smiling in response, she took the woman's hand in greeting.
"Our engineers, Ian Vashti and his wife, Linda, should be able to help you with that." she informed Yui happily. "You can probably find them still on the Ptolemaios near the rear of the spirngs."
"Thank you. You have a good evening, Miss Noriega."
"Please no. You don't have to call me so formally; we're all on the same side now, after all."
"Alright then." Yui answered with a small smile. "See you later, Sumeragi."
With her farewell said, Yui and Gendo headed towards the rear of the hot spring, where the Ptolemaios was landed, in preparation to board it and visit the engineers.

Meanwhile, this left their son, Shinji Ikari, free to spend some time with his two of closest friends, Rei and Asuka, both of which had been in the other mecha group before ZEXIS had been formed. Now dressed in a pair of blue swimming trunks, the boy approached the spring where the two girls were in a half-run, somewhat excited to be reunited with them.
"Rei! Asuka!" he called to them, his arm raised, waving at them... before the inevitable happened.
Shinji found himself slipping on the poolside rocks, instantly sending him flying across the distance between them all, colliding with the duo and knocking all three of them into the water, where Shinji's face ended up, as per the norm, directly on Asuka's upper chest.
Forcing his head upwards and out of the water, Shinji blushed slightly and began to panic as he realised where his head had just been.
"A-Asuka, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to--!" he began, stuttering and attempting to back off, to no avail, as the pool wasn't all that big.

As all this went on, Feldt had joined Lockon and the others in the pool, her eyes a little drier of tears now that the shock of seeing him alive had died down. Allelujah and Marie too had joined them, and was in the process of catching up a little with what had happened before the events of Disgaea.
"So this Unbreakable Dark turned out to be just a girl?" he asked, confirming what he had heard. "And now she's on our side. Wow, that's... a lot to take in. I guess that shows that power really does control people."
Anew, on the other hand, was staying a little bit out of the way for the time being. She wanted to see and talk to Lyle, but the fact was that his brother, Neil, was there also, and she definitely didn't want to feel as though she was getting between the two of them when the latter was supposed to have been dead. No, she was quite happy for now just watching the others.

Having watched the whole thing, Andy was in slight shock from what Simon had unexpectedly found down here; a face-like mecha that seemed perfect for digging. The fact that Andy, a man with a power that assisted with digging, happened to be around when such a thing happened seemed almost like fate, or perhaps it really was sheer coincidence. But whatever it was, Andy was interested in sticking around with this pair. Quickly, he pulled out two tickets, both marked with his phone number, and threw them to the duo.
"You two are naturals to the underground, yo." he said with his trademark grin still on his face. "What's say together we make a name for ourselves?"
He threw an arm over each of the boys, standing between the pair (and Lagann) as he delved more into his idea.
"Think about it. The Digging Brothers of Nintendo High! Between Simon's Lagann, my Element, and Kamina's spirit, we could become local heroes! Heaps of treasure! TV appearances! Crowds of hot babes just throwing themselves at us! Just think about it, bros!"
"Do you just like, have your number pre-written down on these things?" Simon asked him when he paused for breath, causing Andy to sweatdrop suddenly.
"C'mon kid, you don't understand! When we have three smokin' girls under each arm, when would we have time to write out phone numbers for all of them? You've gotta think of the future, man! So come on, what do you say?!"

Selene sighed. She had expected as much as this, but even so, hearing it was a little disappointing. But, Luna had said she would battle, just not right now, and she had never gone back on her word as long as she'd been alive, as far as Selene was aware. She trusted that Luna was going to fight her. Hell, even if she didn't want to, she was pretty certain that Burbear would drag her into it somehow.
"Alright." Selene accepted, still holding Necturna's Pokéball in her hand. "Well, in the meantime, why don't you show me where you're staying these days? I've gotta make sure my baby sister isn't hiding any boys in the closet!"

You're old-fashioned. No game makes progress by catering to nostalgia-hunters. Games need to attract new fans all the time, or they're going to stop being able to exist. Game Freak, in my opinion, have always done a fantastic job at balancing the old with the new in a way that attracts some new fans while still giving the old fans like myself the good old Pokémon feel that they know and love. And yeah, I can be saying that I liked Iris as the champion, because that seemed like the natural progression for her character. Iris in the games is a fantastic trainer who could have easily been the protagonist of the generation had events gone differently, so that position would have been completely natural for her to reach. And Alder is old. He even hints that he thinks he's too old in BW.

But if they did that, there wouldn't be any drama, because it's already been done before. It's something we've already seen, and it would dull and boring. But look at Cynthia instead; she was the first female champion, and the first champion that actually actively helped to solve a major event, especially in Platinum, (unless you count Wallace and Steven in RSE showing you where a legendary was, but that wasn't really that much help) and she's one of the most popular champions there's ever been.
No, if they want to make something dramatic, the way is to make things different. That's why Bianca wasn't the champion in BW. It's why Alder retired in BW2. Change is the only way to keep the series going, or it'll just end up like other mainstream games are these days; essentially being the same game every time it's released.

I would like to point out, in regards to the following rule:

Please try to be active. If possible, at least once every 36 hours. If you won't be able to post for any reason, notify me. A week of inactivity without notification will result in your characters being killed off.

I currently have literally nobody to interact with, and as a matter of principal, I will not post unless I have something worth posting to write. To that extent, I would like to propose that the deadline for everyone be increased, as like me, many other people simply don't want to have to be, or simply can't, post as often as the RP currently demands.

Also, Reinzel, I would like to talk to you in private about something that I would like to include in the RP at some point.

"Vi... ral..." the body spoke, as its eyes flickered open slowly in response to Viral's greeting.
"Uhn... I... am alive...?" he questioned for a moment, before looking down at his body and instinctively knowing that was not the case.
"I see... so I have been brought back somehow." he said, half-interested, half... was that disappointment in his voice? He turned to Viral, revealing his now-completely black eyes, and his cracked facial features.
"Did you do this, Viral? How?"

Having just been hugged without warning, Noriko was slightly taken aback, but she understood how he must have felt, thinking that he was going to grow up to be some evil overlord that wanted to kill the friends that he'd made here. She didn't recoil, and would have returned the hug, but Genome had pulled away suddenly, seemingly embarrassed. She almost found the embarrassment cute. Standing up with a short giggle, Noriko offered her hand to Genome to help him up.
"Let's go enjoy the hot spring properly." she suggested, with a smile. "It'd be a waste to come here and not get wet, right?"

- Inside the Dai-Gurren -

The sound of deep sniffing could be heard in the corridors, as Pierre and Silvia found themselves following Apollo, whose keen nose was guiding their way after... well, they didn't actually know. Apollo had essentially ran off on his own before they could ask, and had his face pressed against the ground sniffing every inch since, tracking something like a wolf.
If the two following him had said anything, Apollo hadn't noticed. He was focused on his task. The scent he was tracking was a couple of days old, but it was very familiar, and he didn't want to lose it.
Now far along his trail, a door was the only thing between him and what appeared to be the source. Finally he stood, making the two behind him curiously approach.
"Huh?" Pierre 'said', as the pair of them approached the door that Apollo was stood in front of. "You find something, Apollo?"
"...yeah." he replied, looking at the door for a long moment, before grabbing it and throwing it open dramatically.

- The Corner of the Hot Spring -

In a corner of the large Hot Spring, hidden from everyone else's sight, a young woman continued to cry uncharacteristically over what she had seen her lover doing right in front of her.
Yes, here in this isolated corner of the hot spring, Tifa Lockhart sat, sprawled out on the ground as she shed tears over the day's events.
However... though she hadn't yet realised it, she was not alone in this place.
There was another that stood nearby, watching her.
And after a short while, the man stepped out before her and crouched by her, handing her a handkerchief and allowing her to quietly take the object in order to stem her tears for a moment.
"Your heart must have truly been opened to him, for such pain to have scorned your heart." he said gently, still crouched there. The girl nodded quietly in response, not even looking at the one that was speaking to her.
"I know your pain. There is one whom I too have lost. More than once, in fact." he continued on, before standing up and turning away from her, leaving her to her sadness for a moment.
"However..." he suddenly said, turning his head to her once more. "What if I told you that there may be a way to ease your pain?"
The girl finally looked up at the man, and for a brief second, she could have sworn that he looked like somebody she knew once. However, she soon realised her mistake and put that thought aside, trying to figure out what he meant.
"What if I told you... that I could alter the course of history. Change what has happened, into what could have happened."
She looked at him confused for a moment, before he said one more thing, his hand outstretched towards her, that clinched the deal in her heart.
"You would never have had to lose him at all."

Silently, the girl blinked, before nodding gently once again, and reaching up to take the man's hand. And equally silently, the duo vanished, deep, purple-black smoke taking their place for a moment, before it too dissipated into the air around it.

What might be an interesting idea is if you yourself got to choose which you wanted to be the bigger rival to you. It's not impossible either, since X and Y seem to be trying out the idea of customisation, and that could definitely be a form of it.
Who knows, we could just see something pretty cool regarding these three.

First of all; I apologise for coming off as rude. Wasn't my intention.
Secondly; It was said somewhere that they were rivals to the player. I'm not sure what you mean by "appear on paper", but that much was confirmed. Whether they'll be fought just once, or be recurring major rivals is what has yet to be seen.

If you did a little bit of searching, you'd already know that is the case. They are rivals, but whether they're major rivals or just friendly rivals is unknown.
