Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
So yeah...Interstellar...It's very Nolan, and it's very crazy. If you're into hard science fiction, you're probably not going to like it. If you really love movies like Star Wars and Guardians of the Galaxy, you're probably not going not going to like it. Yeah...this movie is going to flop something crazy.
Ahh, okay. That's pretty cool. Yeah, I was talking about that with my dad yesterday actually. I mean, Nolan has the Dark Knight franchise to his name, as well as a legion of fans. However, Big Hero 6 is coming out as well, which will probably have a steady audience. And it's not doing as well on Rotten Tomatoes as most people had hoped (I never trust Rotten Tomatoes, but unfortunately, people around me do). I hope that i'll be good. I mean, McConaughey has really come far as an actor, and this seems like grade-A Nolan material. Although, Nolan has been known to navel gaze every now and then. And, hey, my favorite movie of the year totally flopped in the US, so, ehh.[DOUBLEPOST=1415225890][/DOUBLEPOST] Let's look at this year's whole spectrum of box office results and overall reviews. Edge of Tomorrow One of the best reviewed movies of the year. It had a great idea, was based off a property that most people hadn't heard of, and has a great cast. If flopped like crazy. Transformers: Age of Extinction One of the worst review movies of the year. It was a sequel to a best selling franchise, had a mediocre cast, and seemed to follow its same track record. A box office hit domestically.
It's simple. You knew that your day was really bad that it stuck with you well into adulthood. You got a well paying job in your future and one day you discovered the box of Kingdom Hearts figures at a pawn shop. You bought it, used money to send you back in time to today, placed it on your doorstep, and tada! Of course, now that you're day is good...that future you probably disappeared...your bitterness of the day is gone...no more drive...no more motivation...
You know that new Christopher Nolan movie that's supposed to be coming out on Friday. Well, I was looking to see if they were having early screenings tomorrow and see if I can make it to, like, a 7:00 showing. Well, it turns out that they're showing it in my town today. My town is a very small, desert, matters to no one, in the middle of nowhere town. And yet we're getting screenings of this big movie today. I mean, it's pretty freaking awesome, but...why? I just wanna know why?
I have to fully agree on what Misty said about Guardians of the Galaxy. It was fun at times, but I don't think it deserved all of the hype that it got. It's just an okay, middle of the road movie for the most part. You need to freaking see Lucy. It is one of the best displays of navel-gazing I've seen since Pacific Rim! I always found Batman interesting because he didn't have super powers. He's described by fans as the World's Best Detective, meaning that he uses his mind to get him out of situations. And his gadgets are an extension of that, as well as being fit enough to do that without the aid of being an alien, radioactivity, ect. And from what I heard, the big reason people like Batman vs Superman stories comes from The Dark Knight Returns. I've heard it's a great graphic novel, it was innovative for its time, and the climatic battle actually carries a lot of weight
Aww; thank you!!
I want this to be canon so fucking bad.
That was more by request of the Japanese creators. It underperformed so bad in Japan that they told FUNi to do whatever they wanted.
of course i'm kidding
Hopefully gonna have a horror marathon with some friends. I say hopefully because one of my friends is easily scared and won't let me bring any of the good horror movies like The Conjuring, Sinister, Requiem For A Dream, etc.
Sadly no. But I do have the power to bring joy to children anywhere (seriously, i was walking and this little girl saw me and started jumping like she was on some sort of sugar high. the smile on her face was so precious.)
Happy Halloween to you all (hopefully I'll have a better upload of my costume) Spoiler
probably still won't be good movies.
The staff will decide your fate.
SPOILER WARNING: Tummer gets sappy Around this time two years ago, my life completely changed. My mom said that the hospital had found a heart for me. I have bits and pieces of that night that have been burnt into my memory. Driving to the hospital, sitting in the waiting area, being taken to the room that I would be in for the next 10 days, and being told that I would be having my surgery at 7AM (I was told that news at around 10:45PM) the following morning. I’ve always considered KH-Vids my second family. I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true. I would always want to keep you guys in the loop of what’s going on, and this was a big night. I was overwhelmed by everyone’s comments when I told them. I was freaking out, feeling nervous, and I couldn’t sleep that entire night, waiting for my surgery. And that feeling only grew when I woke up and was able to see what people said while I was under. And that feeling has never gone away. It’s been two years, and I am grateful to every single one of you. This place had been a great pillar of support before 7AM October 28, 2012, and has remained that great place since then. I’m healthy, I’m (mostly) happy, and I’m alive. I just want to say thank you, my friends of KH-Vids. There’s no way I can repay you for what you’ve done for me.
-basically what it means...? whenever i hear people say that the drama is compelling, it has a good story, or that Kirito is a complex character (which i have heard people say...although, they're your typical anime club members...)
-when people talk about SAO's plot seriously -when Apple Cherios are more expensive than other cerials -when Crunchyroll logs me off of my playstation, so i have a panic attack and think my membership expired, but then i put in my password and everything is fine -Republicans -Democrats -when there is no pepperoni pizza at the uni's buffet
the future is fucking here!
