Can't this go in the, uhh, Official SSBB discussion thread?
Nope. I think there's a press release on Nintendo.com every Monday about what VC games are being released, but as I stated, Monday is the very day those games are added to the VC, so the only time a VC game is announced for release, is when it's already released.
No, never.
The way the ESRB deals with Virtual Console games is different, because Nintendo sends entire masses of classic games to be rated now to be released, in some cases, a long long time from now. Plus the fact that Virtual Console games don't get release dates, Nintendo's only announcement of when a Virtual Console game is going to released, is the very day that the game releases on the Virtual Console, there is no prior notification that a game is going to be added to the VC catalog, it's simply added.
"Earthbound makes its Virtual Console debut" seems to imply that it's already being released on the VC, or atleast that it will be happening soon, I'm just dispelling any false hope that this means we're to expect it to be on the VC any time soon.
I wouldn't expect anything to come of this any time soon, seeing how Super Mario RPG was rated by the ESRB for the Wii's VC back in 2006, and it has yet to see release. So, I don't see any reason to have false hope about Earthbound on the VC any time soon, the ESRB's list for rated games to hit the VC is like a hundred unreleased games, so to expect that particular one is going to happen sooner when it just got around to being rated now..I dunno, I think EB fans have had enough false hope and waiting.
Calm your balls down Shadowjak, you could have just left it at "don't try and sell him the PS3 when he's already decided he wants a 360", you didn't have to go on a rant and use your CAPS LOCK CRUISE CONTROL

The Xbox itself won't start, as in none of the lights turn on, or it turns on and nothing displays on your TV?
Probably becuase Olimar is a Nintendo character...and Viewtiful Joe isn't?
I'd say "Console Wars" atleast made a little bit of sense, or atleast you could understand where they were coming from, when Console makers had direct-attack advertising campaigns against one another, where there was legitimate animosity and direct competition between the console makers for the people's attention ("Genesis does what Nintendon't", "If your console doesn't have Turbo-GrafX, you're just a wiener", etc.) Nowadays, I seriously doubt Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo give a crap what each other is doing, they practically don't have to directly compete because either way all of them are making fat sacks of cash either way. And then their respective legions of fans will fight regardless, fueled simply by the need to feel that their <faceless souless electronic device> is superior to other's <facelss souless electronic device> So, back in the day I could see you being a kid and hating Sega as a Nintendo fan because "Nintendo is, what Genesisn't", but nowadays the same person doing the same excuse has no similar justification, it's just shameless jackassery
No, the Wii is made to expand the video gaming audience, instead of making it a completely niche thing. More people over the age of 25 play the Wii than any other console. What Nintendo did to expand the video gaming audience now is exactly what Sony did to expand the video gaming audience in 1994. Sony marketed the Playstation to everyone, whereas at the time Gaming was completely only for the "hardcore" gamers which were seen as losers, Sony marketed the Playstation to the entire world, showing everyone that gaming wasn't for losers, that it was for everyone. So, little kids got the Playstation, Teenagers got the Playstation, Adults got the Playstation, and from there all of those people became the gamers that are the "hardcore" today. How old is the average KH fan? 12-14 years old? If you asked the majority of them what their first console was, hell even if I asked you, the answer for most would be: Playstation. That's right, all of you were the ones buying the "kiddy" Playstation back in the 90s, where the Hardcore tried to keep their allegiance to the Sega Saturn and N64. That didn't stop the Playstation from expanding Video Gaming and becoming a massive success, because the Playstation was made to attract everyone into buying the console, and all of those people became the gaming 'Hardcore' today. Now Nintendo is taking the torch of expanding gaming with the Wii. Where Gaming has once again become stagnant and only for the "hardcore", attacked more and more by the media, the Wii is marketed to everyone so that the Gaming Audience grows and Gaming becomes a more widely accepted form of entertainment. So, kids are buying the Wii, Teenagers are buying the Wii, and Adults are buying the Wii, and in the coming years all the people who got into gaming because of the Wii will become the "hardcore" gamers of the next generation. You may look at the people buying the Wii and scoff all you want because you're "mature" and they're "kiddy", because that's exactly what you looked like 10 years ago. And if you don't have the maturity to see games as what they are: games, and have to turn your nose up and act like you're too "mature" to enjoy a game, then you are nothing more than a Child yourself. Mario and Sonic are some of the oldest video game franchises there are, the majority of people who know and love Mario since the 80s are now 20-30 years old, and the fact that you would disregard how fantastic plenty of video game series' are, simply because the graphics aren't HD or the style is "cartoony" and therefore you're too "mature" to play them, shows that you are just a Kid yourself.
So, apparently when the review originally went live the score was 9.5 for both versions, but within 15 minutes the review was pulled from the site and delayed, and when it was released again, the score was 10/10 Again, this has nothing to do with GTAIV, any sort of doubt that it is an amazing game, or saying that it does not particularly deserve good review scores, but this is the kind of thing I'm talking about here with review sites.
You can go through Half-Life using a Crow-Bar instead of guns, does that suddenly mean the game is has no guns? No, you have to go out of your way in order to make the game something it's not. And in my opinion, fighting Sephiroth in KH2 with no combo abilities and the Sweet Memories is still significantly easier than KH1 Sephiroth, because of the lock-on mechanics and hitstun increase from KH1->KH2.
As far as Square-Enix has officially announced, Kingdom Hearts 3 is not under development at the moment, and as such there is no decided Next-Gen Console it will be on.
I'm just saying; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSfJSBwaXF8 KH1 Sephiroth battle. What's this? You press X, adn Sora doesn't automatically just fly over to the enemy somehow with an attack and pummel him? You actually have to use proper Spacing and calculate when you're going to hit, and make sure you're in range to do so? What a nice challenge Hey, let's go check out KH2! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCaWAgkVyEo Oh boy, all you have to do is press X and Sora practically tracks down the enemy for you with his hits, pressing X and Sora just starts lunging in the direction of the enemy. Not to mention the part where you press "down" on the D-Pad twice and go to the "limit" menu and then press X, suddenly, MASH X FOR AUTOMATED ATTACK THAT TAKES OUT 5 HEALTH BARS, HECK YES tl;dr, I don't think that mindless automated flashy combos is "the most amazing thing about the KH battle system", unless you have ADD, then of course I'm sure it's just the bees knees to you.
lmao, did you ever check shops while playing the game? Shibukyu Main Store and Shibu Dept Store both started selling the 5th and 6th Pin Slot at the beginning of Week 2
I'm aware that the disc format is being used for Games, what I pointed out is that the advantage of having a Blu-Ray player in the PS3 is for movies, and that nothing is being gained for the games. When someone asks what's cool about the Blu-Ray being in the PS3, what's the answer?"Well, I can now play Blu-Ray movies now". That's it. The advantage of the Blu-Ray player in the SP3 is: cool, I can watch movies now. Well congratulations, but I'm playing games here. You are correct in that Blu-Ray discs have much larger disc space, the problem here is that no developer is creating video games that need that amount of space, because standard games have still not broken the 10GB space barrier. So, Blu-Ray discs are needlessly expensive to produce, and provide space that games aren't really using, and in the end the only advantage of having it in the console is so that it can play better movies, not games. The Wii was made to expand the video game market and allow a wider audience of people to play games, not "attract kids", it was made to attract everyone into playing games, that way gaming can expand into a larger medium. And no "guy" made the Wii, it was an entire company called Nintendo. Actually, the Xbox 360 has a more powerful Graphics Processing Chip, so technically speaking the 360 is capable of rendering more polygons then the PS3. Though, the PS3 has a more powerful Cell Processing Chip, which means that it can process information easier.
Yes, that is my opinion, hence why I said "I'd say", but that's not a reason to disregard my point. To me, mashing X a couple times and suddenly Sora doing a 100 hit combo is not a good thing, I'm not doing anything, it's just the game translating like 3 button presses into a 15 different attacks on screen, so I don't see why is this a good thing. Maybe it satisfies people with ADD? Oh, pretty colors, and the lack of need for brain activity is fun for the whole family? Atleast in KH and COM combos were calculated and controlled, you didn't lose control of Sora for 3 whole seconds while he shoots lasers just because you pressed 1 time too many. To me, you were actually in control of the combo. In KH2 you can close your eyes and press X really hard, and when you open them 10 seconds later the entire room will be cleared of Heartless, this does not seem like a wonderful improvement to me, it's removing player involvement in the combat making it practically automated. If this is what should be considered a good thing about what the series has become, then I have low expectations for the series' future =\ I'm only mildly hopeful for 358/2 Days simply because it's supposed to feel more like KH1, I'd rather have that instead of reaction commands, 20 second air combos, and limit attacks that you practically have time to go get a drink while you wait for them to be over.
