Technically America's "intelligence levels" being "lower" then that of other Nations can be attributed to the fact that our education system compiles and provides the statistics of every school and every test score taken in the country, whereas most of the world will only submit the averaged scores of the top schools in their nations as a representative of them, for fear of looking bad.

It's not a shot at your intelligence, it's just that is around when I recall learning about early 1900's American History, and Prohibition is an important element of that time period.

Why the would you address someone in the first person who isn't present, and who wrote the article 30 years ago? You say "the statement you made" and "your essay" as if the guy was present, that's complete confusing.

And secondly, how do you not even know about Alcohol Prohibition in the 1920s? The United States passed the "Dry Law" stating that any substance containing more then .5% alcohol was an unlawful substance, Alcoholic beverages became illegal, and subsequently the largest crime rings in the history of the modern world was birthed.

Alcohol smuggling, organized crime, illegal speak-easy clubs, unhealthy homebrew booze was cooked up all over the country, causing mass poisonings and illnesses. The United States experienced the largest crime explosion it's ever seen, and the Prohibition of Alcohol was repealed a decade later, and oh boy, all of those things stopped

What do some of those things sound like in terms of modern times? Border smugglings, street dealers, raves, cooked up alleyway batches. When legalized, there would be no reason to smuggle over the borders, there'd be no reason to deal on the street, raves would be common social events instead of underground warehouse meetings, etc.

"When Prohibition was introduced, I hoped that it would be widely supported by public opinion and the day would soon come when the evil effects of alcohol would be recognized. I have slowly and reluctantly come to believe that this has not been the result. Instead, drinking has generally increased; the speakeasy has replaced the saloon; a vast army of lawbreakers has appeared; many of our best citizens have openly ignored Prohibition; respect for the law has been greatly lessened; and crime has increased to a level never seen before."

The same thing should be realized about the "War on Drugs".

Were there still underground smuggling rings for Alcohol after the Dry Law was repealed? There was no point to, the people making a business off of selling potentially harmful bad-batches of Alcohol cooked up in their bath tubs couldn't compete with a government sanctions Alcohol industry built on a high-quality product.

Now I doubt cocaine would become something you can get a 6-pack of at any point, but if it weren't illegal then it wouldn't be something of a holy ground for rebels to dabble in, it could probably end up prescription-based. Though things like Marijuana can be less harmful to you then a night at the bar, so really the Cigarette industry could get in on Cannabis and basically make them the new Cigars. Euphorics like MDMA could basically become like Oxygen Bars (breathe in pure oxygen in a soothing environment to relax and get all giggly), only moreso with dark rooms and glow sticks then fluffy pillows and soothing music =P

Except that people no longer have to steal, kill, rob, smuggle, influence others, or put themselves in dangerous situations to obtain something that (depending on the substance) isn't any better or worse then legal things like Alcohol, Cigarettes, or some of the Prescriptions passed over the counter.

Do you see people "committing a fraud" to get a bottle of Heineken, or a pack of smokes? 'Course not, because it's legal, if you wish to obtain it just go to a bar or a gas station. You don't expect people to do horrible things for a drink or a cig, because they're everyday things to us nowadays, they're legal and the government can regulate the substances and turn it into a business.

And? It would be no different then someone "pulling off a fraud" to get a 6 pack of beer, or some aspirin.

    Read up on "Prohibition".

And it wasn't his essay, if you bothered to read you would see that this was an article published in the 1970's New York Times.

So yeah, anyway, back to actually discussing the game.

The art style looks great, the Cel-Shading art style has so much potential and it's great to see Developers take it to new places and really wow us, this is one of those games.

That does not make it an Ubisoft game, becuase as I stated, that was only in Europe and Australia. In America, the PS3, PC, and 360 versions were published by 2K Games. In Japan, the PS3, PC, and 360 versions were published by Spike Co.

Bethesda is an independent games developer, which means that they aren't owned by any of these companies, which also means that they usually don't have the funding to mass-produce and translate their games to be released worldwide, so they find a larger company known as a "Publisher" to give them money in order to mass-produce and translate their game to release in a specific region.

So, 2K Games gave Bethesda money to release the Elder Scrolls in America, Ubisoft gave Bethesda money to release the Elder Scrolls in Europe and Australia, and Spike gave Bethesda money to release the Elder Scrolls in Japan. None of these companies own Bethesda, none of these companies own the rights to the Elder Scrolls series, and none of these companies made the Elder Scrolls series, it is not a 2k Games game, it is not an Ubisoft game, and it is not a Spike game, it is a Bethesda Game.

The Elder Scrolls series is not competing with Prince of Persia, becuase the Elder Scrolls is not an Ubisoft game, it is made by a completely independent company.

The game was published by Ubisoft in Europe, and only in Europe, most likely because Ubisoft is a popular French developer. In the United States, it was published by 2K Games, an American developer. And in Japan, it was published by Spike, a Japanese developer.

Neither of these companies made the game, they were all simply the ones to fund it's release in their respective territories. Ubisoft did not make the game, they were not responsible for the development of the game, and the developer of the game is not an owned property or studio for Ubisoft, it's not an Ubisoft game.

It wasn't made by the makers of Kingdom Hearts, unless you mean Kingdom Hearts: Chains of Memories (Jupiter Entertainment). Really, the only relation is Nomura doing some character artwork, but even then he drew the initial designs and then another Character Artist was responsible for the rest of the designs in the game to match his initial style, and the actual implimentation of them into the game.

Yes, it's a super cool achievement for the guy. And you know where you could discuss this super cool achievement? Why, in your Guitar Hero thread, that you created specifically to discuss things like this.

Why do I need to know if people on my side? Does a bunch of arbitrary forum members agreeing with me make my end of the argument better? I've already had an administrator in your other thread agree that you should have kept these topics in your already existing thread.

This is not a NEWS ARTICLE, this is a YOUTUBE VIDEO about a guy getting a HIGH SCORE in GuitAr Hero. Oh hey, what's a good place to post a single post about a cool video of a guy getting a high score, something that you just post in passing to let people know "hey, this is pretty cool"? Why, in one of the already existing threads about the game!

And hey, look right here, you've already made such a thread, it's right there waiting for you! Make use of it, and stop spamming the forums with repeat topics that could be kept in a single topic. Found a cool video? Dandy, post it in your RB/GH thread. Got a new High-Score? No need to spam the forums with another new thread about it, you've already got a thread right there to update with. Or just want to casually talk about the game? Why, that too can be kept in your already created Rock Band and Guitar Hero thread.

I'm perfectly on topic, so I don't see how this constitutes spam when I'm telling you to keep all of your useless threads in one single thread, said thread that that you created specifically to discuss Rock Band and Guiter Hero.

You're the one spamming here, you're spamming the entire section with repeat topics.
