    Chapter 2-Return of Etrius

In the Dark Realm, a wind blew in a small low whistle. The watery shores of the Dark Margin smelled of salt as the gentle sound of dark grey water lapped at the grey shore. A small moon shone bright on what looked to be a figure in a cloak used by the Ex-Organization members of Radiant Garden, but this cloak was completely shredded. It held blood stains, patching at different parts of the body, as if the user went through many fights just to spill crimson. He didn't really look like he was nicked, until one would look at his stomach, which was wrapped in a bloody shawl of linen. The figure snapped his fingers, and purple electricity sparked and crackled beside him. Pure negative energy. Enough to annihilate 10 angry men.

The energy itself took form of three different creatures. One of them took form of an Antiform Heartless, but with red eyes and pitch black skin. It twitched, itching to kill.
The second took form of a Dusk Nobody, having a purple zippered mouth and black skin as well. The old Parilaz symbol, the very symbol representing the lost family of the Dark Keyblade Wielders, appeared on the Dusk's head. It swayed from side to side, in a seductive movement.
The final one was harder to describe. It wasn't a Heartless nor a Nobody, but looked bio-mechanical. It was shaped like a cube, having one eye of the Parilaz logo on the middle of each side. It stood on 6 small mechanical legs. The cube spun on its rotatory axis, making a reload noise. All 3 creatures were ready.

The figure stood and looked at all 3 monsters, inspecting them. The moonlight shown on the figure's hood, revealing a cracked, white smiling mask covering his face. As if covering one's hood wasn't enough. The figure pointed back, towards the heart of the Dark Realm. The creatures understood, as the Dusk, Antiform and the Blok moved ahead of their superior. The figure watched, more creatures appeared. His army was more than ready to attack.

Adrian opened an eyelid, half closed, at Julius's speech. He wasn't exactly paranoid, just more of the person that would spring into action rather than panic. From what he heard, stress gives you wrinkles, but that's what you get for listening to Toni's stereotypical statements.
    Toni...

Adrian turned his head toward Pierce. So far, no interaction had been made, but Adrian's stomach had already felt like it was carrying a lead ball. He was itching to talk to Pierce, but he couldn't, fearing she might run away again. He almost began to fidget, something that he never did. What was the big deal about this girl? Adrian can look at any other girl with a straight bored face, but with Pierce, he couldn't look at her without his mind processing gibberish. Pathetic, much?

Soon, Adrian gave in to the instincts of pheromones, and asked Pierce quietly, "What's your favorite color, Pierce?"

The Executioner roared at the two new challengers, the roar echoing like a thousand thunders, as he finally unstuck the blade, letting it fall behind him. Kel's fireball had hit it dead in the face, and the monster became lame for a bit, but it quickly regained it's composure. And, before it moved, it groaned, but to the others, the words popped in their heads, being able to understand what it was saying.
"You will die for your crimes against the Darks."
It began to move over to the group, dragging the blade while limping, and grabbed to hands to it's blade and swung, it's blade slashing in a horizontal lash.

    Ze Operator
    Location: Lower District
    Mood: Observant/Bored
Objective: Analyze situation/ Take down the machine/ Repair any collateral damage

Fascinating. A female-dragon hybrid? Operator smirked under his smiling mask. And to think he was going to be fighting alongside a bunch predictable Beyonders. No, this was incredibly different. He might actually like this group of individuals. They were making a few slight mistakes though. By attacking directly, they make themselves vulnerable to nearby collateral damage of thrown cars, and that in order for them to take it down, they would either need someone immensely strong, or attack the thing from behind.

Operator let out a "hmph" as he pulled two small frisbee discs. He spun them on both fingers, then threw one of them in the air, past the target's head. The disc made an eclipse-like maneuver, as blades sprung from inside it, giving it more weight as it flew backwards toward the target and slamming right into it's chest. Operator tsked as he threw the second disc at the space between the machine's legs. The blades from this frisbee sprung immediately, and Operator opened a wormhole before the weapon hit the ground. As the frisbee entered the entrance wormhole, Operator opened the exit wormhole to the building on his left, letting the frisbee fly out and hitting the machine's left cheek.

Ze Operator then closed off all remaining wormholes, and opened two wormholes that ate up the two embedded frisbees, and as they closed off, two exit wormholes dropped both frisbees in Operator's hands, the fribees' blades retracted. He had threw two warning shots. He was getting incredible bored already just by watching the others fight, while he couldn't.

Adrian got on the trolley as soon as it came, shoveling in with Noelle and Pierce. He sat next to Pierce, by the chance of opportunity. But strangely, Adrian ignored the fact that he might make her nervous. Instead, he sat there on the seat right next to Pierce, not letting out a word.

Adrian closed his eyes. He thought that maybe if he hung around Pierce, but not converse with her, she might get used to it, but if she went red another time, he would back off completely. His thoughts strayed from her to his own thoughts. He felt depressed, considering that he lost his sister not just more than a day ago.

He sighed, keeping his eyes closed. He suddenly felt mad at himself. If he didn't pull off that stupid little frog stunt when abandoning ship, Toni would still be here. But, if he hadn't pulled the frog stunt, he would've sank to the bottom like a teabag. He gave up on what he could've done, finally leting the fact sink in that Toni was meant to die on that very day. It had been set in stone all along.

Adrian came out of the garden just in time to see that the lobby was active. It seemed that the everyone in his posse was being evicted. He shrugged. Since he didn't bring any stuff with him, he was more than happy to go outside. He was surprised to see that some people were outside already, waiting.

He also saw Pierce talking to another one of the counselors. Adrian would have naturally said a comment, but he didn't for another of reasons, one of them being that he didn't have the energy to, and another because he knew that Pierce got embarrassed easily, from what he could gather.

Adrian also saw Aislin staring out the counselor. Interesting. She must be thinking the guy's cute. "I wonder what Pierce sees in me." Adrian thought to himself. He went up to Aislin and asked quietly, "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting your daydream of the counselor, but do you mind telling me what have I missed in my absence?"

Rexitus turned back to R, and said, "We planted a device that balances energy, and me, Lexeain, and Xross got a huge chunk of it. Without the device, we would've been fried by the energy that both Cornerstones released. However, when you preformed the Dark Siphon, you absorbed the excess energy that we carried. Right now you hold all of the excess. All you have to do is to transpose and divide the energy among all of us, making us infinitely stronger. We hadn't failed our mission."
Rexitus snapped his neck, and his crazy side replied, "The Otherworld is beginning to fade! I'm losing my grip!
    "I feel fine." Lexeain muttered.

    Ze Operator
    Location: AEGIS Headquarters
    Mood: Normal
    Objective: N/A
Axel had been tinkering on his newest device. He was in his living quarters, fresh from a previous mission, having to take down a bunch of guys robbing a nearby bank, one of them being a Beyonder who's able to shape-shift. Smart, but not smart enough when you have a good memory, and able to move through wormholes while speeding up actions. The Beyonder was now in a cell at AEGIS, being given a constant sedative in order not to shape-shift.
Axel let out a sigh, but it sounded like a monster breathing out. He hadn't heard his own voice in an entire year, and he had no intention of speaking. He shut himself up for an unknown reason after he snapped, but yet, he still wishes that he could talk. But now, he could probably make that work, being able to speak without the use of his voice. He was building what he called a Neural Speaker, a handicap device that measures brainwaves and translates them to speech, via the Comm Unit. The other soldiers did say that he needed to communicate with them to know what input he could output, rather than charging in on his own and taking out the target. Axel does listen to his briefing, but as he replies through Sticky-Notes, soldiers say that his behavior as "apathetic", not relying on teamwork to do his job. But at least he gets the job done. That's one of the reasons that he was recruited, the other reason being that he was a Beyonder himself, though the media were quiet to the involvement of AEGIS.
Axel put down the screwdriver that he was using. He needed more scraps, but AEGIS didn't know that he was building an undocumented device, making it illegal. Maybe on his next mission, he could pass by a local scrapyard and grab a few components. He shrugged as he lay on his bed. But just as he was about to close his eyes to take a nap, his computer let out an alert signal. Axel got up and checked the computer.
"Command is sending incoming message." The computer said, monotonous. Axel pressed a few keys, letting the message go through.
The message was actually a briefing on a new mission, one that requires him to utilize his abilities, which were rarely needed in the line of work the soldiers were given. It specified of a machine terrorizing the Lower District, as he called it, and required him to suit up. Time for him to finally come out from the cold. He got up from his computer and searched his wardrobe, pulling out a flaming hoodie. He removed his glasses and replaced them with contacts, put black, reflective film over his eyes, and a mask over the rest. As he shoved his hands in exercise gloves, he thought of his objectives, one of them being to take down the machine, the other his to repair buildings done by collateral damage using his abilities.
As he hefted his pack and equipment, finally ready to go, he looked out the window of his room, and concentrated. A wormhole opened up around him, and he was outside his window, in the courtyard. A nearby camera focused on him. He began to run to a nearby fence, and he suddenly sped up, wormholing through the fence and took off toward the city.
Ze Operator wormholed and sped through oncoming traffic, occasional leaping through tall buildings, or rampaging through traffic.
He stops on top of a building, at least 45 feet above his target. Apparently, he wasn't the only one who's after the machine. AEGIS had sent a few new recruits after it, attacking it again and again. He kneeled, watching the them. One of the recruits was utilizing spheres of energy, but as Operator watched, the recruit was tiring easily. Another one was using..smoke? Nifty. His abilities were somewhat related to hers, except the fact that she used the smoke to travel. All in all, he kneeled there, waiting for the right moment to intervene

Adrian stood up, grabbed his plate, and dumped the leftover scraps in the trash.
"This is just stupid." Adrian said as he disposed of his plate, "I can't eat with being reminded that I lost someone."

He climbed the stairs quietly, not emitting another word, as well as for Pierce's sake. She went redder than a tomato after his little whisper. He entered the lobby and asked as to where he could get fresh air without needing to leave the Inn, and was told that he could go to the garden. He went to the door, and entered.

Adrian had been listening in to Eyepatch's, Sophie's and Pierce's conversation.
Do you think we're going to leave soon? Pierce asked
"Well we should." Adrian said, barging in, "Sorry if I might be rude, but the situation as it is severe. I'm no counselor, but considering how there's been a fire, and how our boat literally sunk to the depths of hell, its more than necessary that they should."

Adrian went over to Pierce and Sophie, as he continued, "But the circumstances are a bit odd. I do not like this place one bit." He said quietly, only audible to Pierce, Sophie and Julius, "I do not like these people. It seems like this has all been arranged."
"But hey," Adrian said in his normal voice, "We should be grateful to be alive."

Adrian lowered his voice one last time, but this time it was to Pierce.
"I'm sorry if this conversation might make you awkward, as well as our last, and I'm really sorry for acting stupid around you. I look forward to get to know you some other time, when you're comfortable."
He went back to where he was sitting, and finished his breakfast.

    Day Four
    [IMG]

Adrian woke up groggily. He had his face on the floor and was in a fetal position. He got up and dusted himself off, and let his eyes adjust.
    "Are you alright son?"
Adrian looked at what seemed to be an old man in his mid-40's, in a brown trench coat. He wore circular-rimmed glasses, and raisin-shaped eyes, and a kind smile. Adrian let out a scoff, saying, "Piss off, old man."
    "Or what?"
"Or I'll make sure that the Inn manager takes your room keys and gives you the boot."
The old man readjusted his glasses. "That would be incredibly inadvisable, as well as improbable, young man. You don't want to end up like Tonitrui, do you?"

Adrian immediately tensed, ready for a fight. "I don't know who you are, you old coot," He said slowly, "But I never like the fact that I'm being threatened. If you want to settle this like real men, put 'em up and I'll show you how much I ended up like Toni, because I never signed up to become collateral damage!"
The old man laughed. "There is no need for that, young one." The old man replied, "Because right now, faces are about to change. Live to fight another day." The old man pointed a finger to one of the doors of the lobby, "Downstairs there is breakfast waiting for you and your friends. Have some of that, and explore the Inn. So many sights to see, so many secrets to reveal!"

Adrian blinked, and the old man was gone. As though he never existed. What the hell was that all about? He didn't know. Adrian dismissed the moment as nothing more than a mirage. He rubbed his eyes and went to the Lobby desk. "Is there anyway I can get a room?"
"Yes. Here you go. Enjoy your stay."
Adrian grabbed the key and shoved it in his pocket, and he went downstairs, and waited for the others.

The Executioner groaned as it felt Kel's blade against its side, and stood again as it Beuce got enough leway. It swung its large blade in a horizontal fashion, contacting Kel's blade and making him skid 40 feet away. The monster then grabbed the end of Beuce's Keyblade Glider, and wrenched it in half, turning it back the way it was, making Beuce fall to the ground. The Executioner slammed it's blade on the ground, exactly 16 inches away from Beuce's face, but in the process, it's blade got stuck in the ground.

Rexitus felt the blunt force of Kaya's slap against his face and let out a grunt. His eyes returned to his normal color, but only temporarily.
"There is nothing we could've done. The cavalry came too late. The Executioner Heartless was the last distraction I could do. Besides, would you rather stay with the idiot who has a tendency of spouting random comments? I doubt that." Rexitus said normally.
"And don't you dare slap me again. I may be lower-ranking to you, but I still have the power to rip your spine from you back and hang it on the wall." His corrupted half added. Rexitus eyes turned red again, and he opened the exit wormhole, out of the pocket dimension. Rexitus walked out, and only closed the portal when Kaya came out.

Lexeain greeted Rexitus as he came out with Kaya. She turned to R, and slapped him.
"You fool." Lexeain stated in a voice more adult-like, but still her normal voice, "You dare send us on a mission, when you decide to fight one of your own?! I felt your energy rise before the portal closed!" Lexeain's eyes burned an incredible green flame, that burned pure anger...and an angry light, too bright to be questioned by any of the darks.
"You are very lucky that I am forgiving, otherwise, I would trap you in the Iceworld the first chance I get!"
She walked off in a huff.

Rexitus merely watched what was going on in silence, twitching occasionally. As Lexeain left, He said normally,
"The Otherworld spell will last until all the Lights leave the castle. I will talk Lexeain, and later I will talk to you."
"But be warned superior." Rexitus's other side growled, "Lexeain and I are not to be trifled with. We have saved one of your own tonight, but your actions tonight are deemed unworthy of my scope of understanding, and this should not happen again. I am not insulting you, but telling the truth from the way I see it."

Adrian did not like this. Not one entire bit. He had agreed to go along with this, but after clearing his head, this seemed as much as a trap. All boats had an alarm system Then, his mind started to reel. Where was Toni?
He gasped loudly. Tonitrui Gloval was dead.

Adrian dropped to his knees. He put his hands on the floor, as though he hadn't felt something like that in ages. His throat was dry. He was thirsty, but nauseated at the fact that his sister was.....
Adrian threw up away from the group. Too many...too many....this was not meant to be....
"My sister is dead.." Adrian said slowly, bluntly. A tinny ringing of the ears made him put his head on the floor. He let out a screech.
"AND I COULDN'T ****ING SAVE HER!" His voice turned temporarily guttural. He looked up at the others and his eye twiched.

"And I couldn't save her...." He repeated this over and over, like a scared child, who lost his mother when he needed it the most. He suddenly stands up, an angry look on his face.
"My life is hell." He said slowly, "ONCE! I lost a friend to terminal cancer. TWO!! My last girlfriend stabbed me in the back, putting me into a five-day coma. THREE!!!" He was on the verge of angry tears. "Tonitrui....my sister...my only sister, dies before my eyes...."
He drops to the floor, crying his heart out. He had finally broke. He closed his eyes, wanting all this to stop.
