I just got a 71 on my Calc II test. I have no idea what the fuсk I am going to tell my parents. I am so fuсked right now. -_- Help me KHV
This is true, but the point is it is viable for a Christian to believe that there IS an objective moral code out there. It's impossible for an atheist to believe that.
Okay, first of all, please learn how to use punctuation. If I tried to read that run-on sentence out loud, I'd pass out. Second, no, I really don't have to admit any of those things you've said that I've "gotta admit". Lastly, I just wanted to point out how hilarious it is that きんたろ makes a thread about how he doesn't like Christians pouring thier beliefs down other's throats, and then my post doesn't do that at all while yours does nothing but state all of your beliefs (That no one asked for) in an incredibly deliberately insulting way. It's just funny.
fixed ;) Even as a Christian, I can relate to you here. I will keep this in mind. I admit that I have a tendency to be a little more like this than I intend to. Usually I'm pretty good about it though. Here's the thing. In my experience, when Christians are taught how to talk to other people about God, they're taught to speak as if the idea of at least some kind of God is accepted as true. So when they realize it isn't to you...they kind of freak out. They don't know what to do, because they haven't been taught. This is something I've always disliked about my own religion, that we're almost never told to think for ourselves when it comes to this kind of thing. Anyway, that may be why. Personally I don't take this kind of approach. Thanks, I'll keep this in mind even though I've never made (or heard of before now) anyone making actual threats about dragging people to church or anything else, joking or otherwise. I don't hate you. I don't hate anyone for being atheists unless they're really dicks about it, like Richard Dawkins. If I met you and you told me the things you've said in this thread, I'd have absolutely no problem with you. All I can tell you to do (And this is going to sound bad) is to look for better Christians, because honestly it seems like you're getting the crap end of the stick. Where I live no Christians treat atheists that way, honestly. Oh, and if you do want one thing on your part, don't say things like "I'm never going to change" or "You can try all you like you'll never break me", or things like that. Not only does that makes us feel like we can't do what we're taught to do by our God, but it's just plain closed-minded and people don't really like that.
You're just proving my point :/ My point was that, for the reasons you have stated, atheists will never believe in an objective morality. Christians can, but the only argument we have means we have to bring God into it. Atheists, for the reasons you have stated, don't accept that. That's the point.

This doesn't work because it goes against the Christian idea of God. God is infallible. It is impossible for anthing he says or does to be wrong, because he is God. It is not fair to refer to him as a subject. If God gives us a moral code, that moral code is objective, not subjective, simply because he is God.
Look, Jet. You're missing the point by a longshot. You are stating over and over agian that morality is objective without providing any proof of it. You are making examples out of other things and saying "Replace X with morality" or "Morality is the same as X" without providing any reason WHY. Couldn't I just say "Replace X with beauty" or "Beauty is the same as X" and prove that beauty is objective? NO. Beause there is no beauty-omoter to see how beautiful someting is, and therefore is subjective. In the same way atheists will always say that there is no morality-omoter to prove whether something is moral (I personally think there is one and it's the Bible), so to an athiest, morality will always be subjective. There is literally no substance to any argument stating the opposite unless you bring God into it.

I played Face Raiders and ARGames for like an hour with full 3D and felt fine. Then again I've been eating REALLY healthy lately (It's kind of disgusting) so it may be a metabolism thing. I've been hearing different reports about it from everyone. Basically when I turn the 3D on I can definitely feel my eyes acting...different, but it's definitely not strain. Maybe I'm just such a fanboy that my brain is tricking me. Doubt it though.
I got my 3DS (And it's amazing) so I'm going to try out the JP version of Over the Nexus on Tuesday
Face Raiders is surprisingly satisfying.
Sony are a bunch on Nazis and I'm never spending money on another of their products again =] Now then, first impressions: The 3D effect is AMAZING and there is ABSOLUTELY NO EYE STRAIN OR HEADACHES INVOLVED, SHUT THAT STUPID RUMOR UP. The only thing is that the sweet spot is pretty small, but once you get used to it this isn't a problem at all. I couldn't afford a game but Face Raiders and ARGames are pretty cool. The design of the system is amazing except for the stylus placement. It's awful for anyone who uses their right hand to play. Oh, and I ADORE the slide pad.
AND I AM EXCITED BEYOND WORDS.a

You have not presented proof, you have merely restated your opinion. You have presented an argument which works on things that are objective without proving that morality is objective.
That argument only works for things that are objective. Heat is objective. Morality is not.
