Nintendo announced today that they will be holding a Nintendo Direct this Wednesday, April 12, at 3pm PT. While this Direct will feature games for both the 3DS and the Switch, it will primarily focus on the upcoming Switch games Splatoon 2 and ARMS. You'll be able to watch the Direct on Nintendo's website, YouTube, and Twitch, as per usual. source

Kingdom Hearts Union χ—the χ being pronounced "cross" this time around—isn't a brand-new game; rather, it's a hefty update and rebranding to Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ, which is already available for iOS and Android devices. Not to spoil too much, Union χ brings around what series creator Tetsuya Nomura has long referred to as the "season two" to the story of Kingdom Hearts χ. With the new story comes new real-time multiplayer quests, new Medal mechanics, new worlds to visit, and more. Since fans reached and exceeded the preregistration goals for the game, all players will also be receiving a free 6,000 jewels and seven copies of the new Sora & Roxas Medal! Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ is currently undergoing maintenance to prepare for the update coming in mere hours. If you participated in the Kanto X Alola Regional Rumble battle competition, you can claim a serial code for your Pidgeotite and Steelixite here. Make sure you redeem it by May 29. For everyone else, a shared serial code will be released to give out these Mega Stones later this spring. The next battle competition, the 2017 International Challenge April, has been announced. Registration will be open from April 19 to April 27, and the battle period will follow, lasting from April 28 through April 30. Participants will be awarded the Sceptilite and Blazikenite Mega Stones. The rules are as follows: Double battle Alola Pokedex only No Mega Stones Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, and Magearna are not allowed other VGC 2017 rules as applicable

During a livestream yesterday, Atlus announced a sequel, Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2! In addition to the ten classes found in the first game, EMD2 will add five new classes: Alchemist (Etrian Odyssey), Farmer (EOIII), Buccaneer (EOIII), Monk (EOIII), and a brand-new class that translates to Samurai. The Samurai class can wield up to two swords at once, but not much else is yet known. (Incidentally, this puts EMD2 in a tie with Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold for the most classes available in an Etrian game.) First-print copies of the game will include a 2-disc "User's Best Album," a compilation of songs from the Etrian series' entire history, with the tracks selected by fans! You can vote for what songs you'd like on the album here until April 9. (You can vote for as many songs as you'd like! It does require a Twitter account, though). There will also be a special edition of the game celebrating the Etrian series' 10th anniversary; this will include a copy of the game, the aforementioned CD, a collectors' box, and a 200-page art book.
