Last night, Nintendo announced the latest addition to their 3DS hardware lineup, the New Nintendo 2DS XL. The system eschews the original 2DS's slate-like design for the traditional folding design of the rest of the 3DS family, and adds the various functionalities of the New Nintendo 3DS--a built-in amiibo reader, additional shoulder buttons, a second analog stick, and greater processing power. The system will also have the same screen size as the New Nintendo 3DS XL, while being lighter than the New Nintendo 3DS XL. And the New 2DS XL still leaves out the stereoscopic 3D effect. The system will be available only in the turquoise and black color option in North America, while the rest of the world will also have an orange and white color option. The New Nintendo 2DS XL will launch this summer--June 15 in Australia and New Zealand, July 13 in Japan, and the rest of the world on July 28. The system's MSRP will be $149.99 USD/$199.99 CAD/$199.95 AUD/¥14,980.

Right now I'm watching Sakura Quest and Re:Creators from the Spring 2017 season, and I'm on the fence about Grimoire of Zero. Little Witch Academia is still pretty great, and I'm plodding my way through Mushi-Shi and Space Battleship Yamato 2199, too. I think this is the most anime I've ever been watching at the same time.
Tiers refer to how much of a special attack bonus a medal gets. There are currently five tiers in the game, with more coming down the line: Tier 1: 10-25% Tier 2: 20-50% Tier 3: 40-100% Tier 4: 60-130% Tier 5: 80-150% You can tell which tier a medal is by the little swirl icon next to the special attack bonus dots on a 6* medal. Up until Tier 5, the tier roughly corresponds with the number of spikes jutting out from the icon. Naturally, the higher the tier, the more appealing it is. As far as how I personally decide? If you can farm the medal during story missions, don't use it (unless you have no better options). I keep around enough of the farmables to max out the special attack bonus on one copy, and once I've done that, I sell the rest of the copies. I personally don't like to use single-target medals, either, though some have their uses.

It wouldn't be hard. You just start up a new, simpler story arc post-Dark Seeker Saga, and you're set. New protagonists optional, but recommended. The old characters (at least, whoever survives the Dark Seeker Saga) can definitely show up, but would take a backseat to the new characters.

I'm hoping for a soft reboot post-KH3. The plot's become pretty jumbled over the past fifteen years, and we need a fresh start, but it can be done without erasing what's come before. Like, for example, time travel can still exist and be possible in this hypothetical reboot, but we don't need to use or see it, you know? We just need a new story thread, possibly new characters, less clutter, and use of fewer contrived plot devices. Having the story all mapped out in advance instead of making it up as it goes would go a long way to helping this, in my opinion.
