All of the sudden, Nicky felt very satisfied that she decided to stop before jumping straight into action even though she was incredibly eager to join in on it. Batman was getting hurt - pounded even. This looked very bad from where she was standing, which really wasn't all that far away. She began to whisper under her breath encouraging words for the Bat - almost like the times she would watch the television news as a kid when the other superheroes would be fighting crime. She always found herself jumping up and dancing when the superheroes won the battle. Unfortunately, Nicky had this horrible gut feeling that today would be one of those rare days when she wouldn't find herself jumping up and dancing but instead ending up in tears. It frightened her. 'I've seen this guy before. B-but... I've forgot him! No! Why now? I could be there fighting alongside the friggin' Batman but here I am doing nothing. And he's getting beaten to a pulp! I need to join in soon, but when? And how? Oh goodness, this is SUCH a conundrum.' She bit her bottom lip as she continued to watch with her body tense and her gloved hands tightened to fists so hard that she felt her nails dig into her skin. Suddenly, Batman leaped to the side of the road and took in a full blow from the villain. Nicky took a sharp intake of breath. What just happened? She was so incredibly confused on why Batman so clearly and willingly ran into that shot for absolutely no reason. Nothing was there on that side of the road and because of that, Batman was sure to be crushed the next time around. This was probably it. This was her cue. To solidify that thought even more, a shard of ice came flying from a direction that headed straight towards the villain. There were others here too. They could take this mad man down! She was definitely not alone! Immediately, Nicky moved over to a closer position to the foe, careful to still keep an aspect of stealth. She pulled her gloves down to a more comfortable and accurate fit and waited for the mysterious shard of ice to make contact. She had a plan in mind. This was gotham, the city that never sleeps, and that meant a lot of things could get very heated up even at the cooling comfort of the night. Perhaps, even with a bit of help, those things could simply go kaboom.
Too focused with speaking to the non-power user and the artist, Frida hadn’t noticed that more late students had entered the room – or that they were drawn to the topic she was having with the others. It nearly scared her half to death when a rather mechanical voice joined in their conversation, in fact the shocker caused her to jump a little. Embarrassed by being surprised, Frida listened to what this robot had to say with a scowl on her face that very soon turned into an evil glare as he continued to speak. The man in the suit began opposing what she had just said and really just began scolding them. Telling them what to do – like they were naughty 5 year old children ready to be slapped by their parents. ’Again with this? Do people ever learn? No one – I repeat – NO ONE tells me what I can or can not do. This guy is too full of it. I’d bet cash to say he’s one of those jerks who think they’re just right all the time. Besides, is this even my idea? My drawing? A pfft, heck no. I can barely hold a pencil without stabbing someone.’ Before she could speak out her mind, once again someone grabbed that opportunity to voice out before her. It was the artist girl. She exhaled, almost a sigh of relief, at the moment if there was someone to interrupt her. Frida would like this girl right here to be the one to do so, since she didn’t mind it so much. However, what she began to say intrigued her. It wasn’t the risks that she had mentioned, or the escape thing that should most likely take place if there was something to discover but it was the whole ‘wish-this-didn’t-happen-this-conversation-wouldn’t-have-either’ part. This was probably the most interesting History class she’s been in all year. Okay, maybe it was a little – or a lot – because she seemed to have ticked some people off and got to snap at some in such a dull class. Of course, it was also because of the topic they tackled. Who wouldn’t be even the slightest interested in the things they were saying? She was sure the authorities in the school would be. Once again, before she could find herself to even open her lips – another individual interrupts her. Lightning didn’t mean fast in her case, she’s been way too slow with conversing that morning – well, then again, it was still morning. A Monday morning. Yet others seemed very lively, and almost on edge, like the blonde boy from earlier who spoke again. He mentioned again about trying to be less noticeable or obvious with their conversation – even meeting up somewhere after. She honestly, actually really liked the idea and she was all up for it. However, at the same time, she did not want to waste time with a crowd that included some pretty jerky people and a non-power user. “That’s all very flattering, and actually quite interesting but I’m going to pass. You guys don’t even deserve my time.” She said, even though still interested with the offer. Then, just like that, the bell rings and the guards dismiss the class. No one had seemed to notice their entire conversation. Students quickly began to leave – including the white haired boy who she caught giving her a look as he stood. She returned him a ‘whatever-you-don’t-even-scare-me’ look as he turned to face somewhere else and left the room as well. Frida released a loud sigh before getting up to her feet and stretching a bit. She grabbed all of her things and quickly turned to the artist girl behind. “You’re pretty cool though, we should talk some time.” She gave her a small smile and then whimsically hopped through the door. The petite girl walked through the hall, quietly. Some thoughts about the current conversation still lingered slightly. She began to walk a little more slowly. Hm. It’s actually quite dull now without everyone else. I wonder if that offer from the blonde kid still stands? Probably not. It would be nice to hear what everyone else had to say – or at least just some others. I wouldn’t care less for some of the others. Again, not even worth my time. Guhhh, what to do now though? She stopped and turned to face back to the classroom she came from. She had already decided on not eating, she had lost her appetite. Her eyes stared blankly at the hallway in front of her. Maybe she should have stuck with the others? Maybe she should have just put up with them and ignored the others? She slapped herself suddenly on the side of her face as she realized she could have pounded on someone from the group earlier. She almost had, after all. She just missed an opportunity for an electrical and shocking turn of events – and to top it all off, it sure was getting lonely.
