"There could be a numerous of reasons...perhaps to have Larxene in distraught, even willing to seek help from her enemies," Zexion answered, after some contemplation. "And...for all we know...Max could cloak Axel's prescence somehow...already he's managed to hide the place Larxene had warped to once before...so all that I know is that Max might have a place in this entire scheme...possibly..." "...I have to do this one alone," Larxene said, tilting her head up, looking over at Roxas with a trace of sadness. "Just...make sure everything's fine here...and don't worry, I'm not planning on doing anything foolish..." She gave a dry half-smile. "Trust me on this?"
"Well...I can't exactly see ghosts...that easily...I have a...certain way," Corina admitted, a bit reluctantly. Gesturing slightly to the sword attached to her thin belt, she remarked, "This helps me..."
Larxene frowned. How on earth did this stranger know her name? "Answer my questions," she demanded. "And tell me - how did you know my name?" She glanced over at Namine, seeing her clasping her hands together nervously. It seemed she was quite uncomfortable with everything that was going on, but who wasn't? Wandering a street going around in a circle was not fun.
"Um...um...why? Why would you want me to put her on the phone?" Namine asked, glancing over at Larxene...which was a mistake, voicing what the man wanted. "Who are you talking to, Namine?" Larxene asked, raising an eyebrow. Covering the speakers, Namine answered, "Some...some stranger...who wishes to speak with you now...I don't know why...or who he is at all..." "Let me talk to him," Larxene said, taking the cellphone from her hand. "Alright, who is this? And what do you want?"
OOC: I'm glad you're back, chula!! :glomp: "...Max," Zexion answered, tilting his head up. "It's as if he's trying to frame me, so he's the most likely culprit...so far...if Axel was, indeed, murdered...but...it is a bit strange...how the machine malfunction...unless you know why it had suddenly?" "I told you..." Larxene's eyes turned to the floor. "I need you to take care of...everything...in case something happens to me...remember?" She hesitated for a moment. "And if you want to know about everything else...someone had informed me about Axel, and I was certain that since you and Vexen were taking care of everything, there was nothing for me to worry about...at least, that's what I tried to tell myself." She bit her lower lip, as if suppressing something. "And as for that 'stupid girl fight' there was a...reason I needed to prove. That is all...are you done with your accusations now?"
"Um...I don't really like any horror movie..." Namine said, licking her lips nervously. "Uh...who is this? And why do you want to know?" The voice was no one she knew, and his question brought suspicion to her mind...
Sitting up, roughly pushing Namine off her body, Larxene shot her a glare. "Will you stop being such a cowardly klutz?!" "I'm sorry," Namine apologized, looking down. Just then, she heard a soft tune play, and she recognized it as her cell phone's ringtone. Reaching into the thin pocket within her white mini-dress, she drew out her cellphone. The caller was 'unknown,' and with the creepy street they were on, it made her shiver with anxiety. Slowly flipping it open, she brought it to her ear. "Hello?" Larxene watched as Namine had opened her cellphone, seeming nervous about something. What was there to get so worked up about her phone? Or was it the caller's identity that bothered her?
OOC: Wait, call Namine's name, or like a call on a cellphone? xD
"No, no, why?!" Yuna exclaimed, taking a step back. "It's...it's only Tidus!" She bit her lower lip, looking over at the backpack and then up at ZC. "Why...I...I haven't seen him...in so long...and I...I've missed him..."
OOC: Sorry, I'm lost, what's happening...?
"Larxene...do you know what's...going on?" Namine asked, meekly, her hands clasped together as she looked up at the Nobody worriedly. "I mean...we've been wandering the streets for over an hour now...and we keep going around in circles..." "Oh, quit your whining," Larxene snapped, clicking her tongue in annoyance. "You don't have to follow me around you know..." "But we'd end up in the same place despite that," Namine protested, quietly. "And I have to admit...it might be wiser to stay...together..." Suddenly, her foot slipped on something wet, and she quickly extended her arm, to grab anything that would help to steady her. Feeling Namine make a soft sound of surprise, Larxene turned slightly, only to have the girl grab her arm, dragging her downward. "What are you-" she didn't complete her sentence as the two fell to the ground. Her body rung dully of pain, as she groaned. "Namine, will you watch where you're going?!" "I'm sorry," Namine apologized, sitting up, a lock of her golden hair falling over her right shoulder. Tilting her head up, she saw that she had pulled on Larxene's cloak a bit, causing her pale shoulder to be revealed slightly. "So, um...do you think-" Feeling a cold wind blow at her back, she turned her head, widening her eyes to see in the window of a house nearby...the reflection of a white skeleton leering at her. Shrieking, she covered her eyes with her hands, rapidly drawing back, crashing into Larxene again. OOC: I didn't know what to do, so I had the two walking around a sort of Maple Street-like place, only to find that they're going around in circles. xDD
"Yes...they are..." Zexion nodded, seeming slightly unnerved by the smirk that was playing on Vexen's lips. "I suppose Roxas believes I'm a possible suspect already..." Concentrating on where the boy was now, he saw that he and Larxene were in his room, most likely conversing. The Savage Nymph knew that he was with her all night, so she should've told Roxas that he wasn't really a culprit...but even so, it wouldn't help the boy to trust him, despite anything anyone said. Frowning, he noticed he could not really form his next thoughts in his scheme...he had planned on what to do from then, but now, he could not seem to recall them, let along think of something new. But with the way everything was going, it would be the perfect opportunity...to do...something...but he just couldn't seem to think of anything other than what Larxene and Roxas could be speaking about... "Then ask them all already," Larxene said, crossing her arms, as she tilted her head up to look at him. Instead of the previous glossy look in her eyes, they now had a trace of anger, as well as determination. "I have something...I need to do, and I don't really want to waste much time. So...just ask them all already."
OOC: Sorry, what's happening? And how do I come in...?
As Vexen shot accusations at him, Zexion widened his eyes, surprised, as he felt his body stiffen. Narrowing his eyes, he spoke, with a trace of coldness, "Do you truly believe I would believe I have 'emotions' for anyone? There are certain reasons for what I do...but none of them is because I would have an attachment to anyone." He hesitated for a moment. "If you must know, when you 'caught' us, I was merely trying to help her out of her predicament...in exchange for a little...assistance she could provide me. And so, I must continue to seem...as if I...am beginning to understand the two better, as if on the same 'emotional' level as them." He crossed his arms, as he continued to lock his gaze with the scientist's. "I am a bit...surprised...to find that you're suddenly distrusting me. I should think you'd unerstand my motive is always to back up any...plan I have in mind." "Of course," Larxene snapped, her voice coming out angrily. "Of course I did...I don't know why you would question that truly..." She clenched her hands into fists. "Even when...even when Zexion kept trying to convince me I wasn't...I stood my ground." Sighing, she slowly unclenched her hands. "Roxas...if...if I...no...if something were to happen...to me...take care of everything...okay...?"
"Backpack!" Yuna exclaimed, turning to it. "What...what are you doing? Where are you going?"
"Well, um..." Yuna hesitated, clasping her hands together nervously. "Can we...could we...talk...a little bit...later? Unless it's quick?"
"...I say...we just drop this," Zexion said, tilting his head up, looking at Vexen. "This is being an entire distraction and we need to continue looking out against our enemies...if he's gone...so what? What can we do? It's not like we can do anything." He wearily ran a hand through his hair. "Unfortunately...the 'emotional' attachments he had with Roxas and Larxene might cause them to do something...foolish...so we'll have to watch out for them." "Go ahead then," Larxene said, a bit tonelessly, not moving from where she stood. "Ask all the questions you want." She glanced over at Roxas, sitting upon the bed. His eyes were bloodshot, dark, as if he barely had any sleep...he must've struggled to keep himself awake as he watched over Axel but...she only wished he was able to suppress his urges when the event happened...
Drawing back as she heard a knock on the door, Yuna stared into Tidus's eyes momentarily before saying, breathlessly, "I...I have to get that..." Standing up, she tried to get her thoughts formed and her cheeks to start blushing. Turning the doorknob and opening the door, she was suprised to find ZC standing there. "ZC..."
"...Yours," she answered, her eyes averting his gaze. Her skin felt frozen but she could barely feel it. She just felt...empty inside...like the Nobody she was... Turning, she stiffly raised her arm, opening a portal of darkness that would lead to Roxas's room. She knew that Roxas had only an inch of trust for her, and he was trying to prove something, but it didn't matter to her at the moment. She just felt numb, all 'emotions', fake and slightly real, gone. Her eyes felt dry, despite only having one tear fall, and the pain that she felt within her chest was dulled. Without glancing over her shoulder, she stepped through the portal, finding herself in Roxas's room only seconds later. "...I don't know anymore," Zexion sighed, turning to look at Xangel wearily. "There's so much going on...everything's confusing. Maybe so, maybe not...all I know is that...Axel is gone...his 'scent' is just...not there." His hand clenched into a fist. "That nameless Organization...they're obviously up to something...but now is the time to strike that means..." Tilting his head up, darkness swirled around him and Xangel as he transported them to Vexen's labatory. "Vexen," he said, turning to him. "Vexen...have you spotted anything unusual in the machine?"
Ooh, another tantalizing chapter! *claps* As for the grammar and spelling, the same advice as earlier basically... I love how the villain has forced a hero to be part of their villainous group, and I can just tell that something intriguing will happen later because of Catch The Rain. So, continue on! I can't wait for the next chapter! :)
