Balmore Manor~ Seth cradled the girl gently and crooned to her, "Indeed it is. Now...before you ask any more questions...can you tell me what your dream is?" Depending on her answer, Seth would have no choice either to change her or not. Yuka allowed Ceril to help her gather the glasses, "So you really have no intention of purchasing a home for yourself?"
Kiel purred quietly, "The Book of the Grey. It's in your classroom isn't it?" Sanya nodded and shoved them aside. "If you'll excuse me...I've got a demon to hunt." Kiel watched her go with wide eyes. "Whoa...for a short girl she's...kinda psycho..." Ren smirked and touched his nose to hers. Spreading his wings to blot out the light around them he kissed her with as much passion as he would allow to slip through without losing all control. "You know very well that's how I feel about you. If I could have but only one night with you, I'd prove it over and over again." Penny glanced at Kiel and Tori's clasped hands and folded his arms behind his head, "Looks like it to me." Genesis shook himself, "Sorry...there's a lot of tension in the air and I haven't found Lord Kyrios yet... I'm worried something happened while I was gone. Seraph Amittai should've found you two by now and lectured you about whatever your job is." He avoided looking at Giselle directly for the sake of his sanity. No girl before had not become frustraited with his attitude before and that made him like them. But this human seemed just as detatched as he did and he didn't just like her. It was an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. He liked the Allen boy too, which made him more confused and unwilling to show his natural colors to them.
Balmore Manor~ Seth sat cross-legged in his chair and drained a glass of the technology created blood. He sighed in frustration as he saw Johanna and the little girl. Already he could hear her faint heartbeat and the sluggish movement of her blood. "You may want this, Johanna...but does she? Is it her wish to live a life forever as how she looks now?" He wanted so badly to rage against it, but he wouldn't ignore a child's desire to live. Many had chosen to live this life as children and they were...somewhat happy for the moment. He knew very well life didn't end well for them. He reached out for the little girl, "May I?"
Kiel laughed under his breath the whole way. He shuffled a few steps ahead of her and grabbed the doorhandle. Yanking it open, they nearly ran into Sanya on her way out. "Professor Logos!" Sanya looked up at them and lifted one blonde brow in confusion. Ren leaned on his desk and glanced at Kaila. "You're not jealous of Yuukki again are you? Yuukki was a human...she wouldn't have lived half as long as I will even if she wasn't involved in the Dark Court. I've accepted she's gone, Kaila. I've grieved too long for her. I can see that now. Being upset over something I couldn't have changed blinded me to a brighter love." He lifted her chin and half closed his yellow eyes. "What would I do without you?" Penny remained silent until he noticed the guy and girl from before. "Damn...it's those two again. Tristan...that guy seriously is scary. I wonder what he's doing here?" Genesis shrugged, "Hell if I know." He moved cautiously through the school and sat them down in the dining hall. "You guys hungry? Tired?"
Balmore Manor~ Seth shook his head and shut the door quietly. Sliding down the railing of his stairs, Seth felt better now that Rin wasn't angry with him. Now...Johanna's concerning problem awaited his attention.
Balmore Manor~ Seth smiled, his good humor returned. "Then will you stay here for a while? I have just a bit more to take care of downstairs. I'll be back soon. You should catch up on your sleep. It's been a long night." He peeled off his jacket again and flung it over the end of the bed. Unbuttoning the top two and bottom two buttons on his shirt, he made no move to hurry downstairs. Instead he stood at the door, admiring Rin. Her determination was enough to make him smile but her words were far too grown up for her own good. He'd have to teach her what it meant to be a grown up. Mirabelle, Yuka and Cooke came to fetch Johanna, Mimi and Ceril. "Master Seth will be down in a minute. You three should come inside. Everyone has started to leave." As soon as she spoke, several vampire couples walked past her, arm in arm, thanking her for the time they spent and asking if Seth would visit soon.
Balmore Manor~ Seth examined his clothes, "Does it look like I could care about what they feel when I feed from them? What I feel...will always be different from what I feel for you. I will never lie to you Rin, that I promise. I care for your safety and peace of mind. If I hurt you, I would never forgive myself. Those that have wronged you, have wronged me. Your pain is mine." Spying a droplet of blood on her cheek, he licked it off and gently pressed his lips to hers. "With the aid of everyone around me, I will make Luin a home for Vampires and humans alike."
Balmore Manor~ Seth finished stitching her wrist and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "They wouldn't even if they tried. They know what you look like RIn...you're...important to me because you remind me of someone I knew a long time ago. The only person I ever fell in love with...I can't even remember her name." His dark brown eyes took on ages of saddness, "Did you know...vampire children are born already dead? Without decent attention and accuteness to them...they'd die on the spot. They require something only their mother can provide...the internal blood of her heart. Vampires usually don't fall in love...because if their desire to have a child...they sacrifice their mate." Seth leaned over her, "It's too hard to fall in love again. But I won't sacrifice someone that says they love me without knowing me. I promised I'd protect you because you knew my secret." Mirabelle knocked softly on Seth's door and listened to him get up from his bed and open the door. "Lady Johanna has a favor to ask of you along with Ceril." He nodded once and shut the door on her. Turning back to Rin, Seth held out his hand to her, "I want to keep you safe because...you remind me of something I lost so very long ago. Something precious to me. My humanity. I've been like this since I was born, Rin, Vampires look to me for moral support and direction. I provide examples. Without the example I set tonight at the party, they would no longer respect me. My blood alone is not enough to make them see that we can coexist with humans. In order to maintain this balance, I provide them with food every Sunday night. The man they fed on...was a hater of Vampire kind. He slandered our good names. The woman...that I fed from was necessary. Without her blood, what would stop me from draining you dry?" Slowly, he approached her and touched now warm cheeks and lips to her neck, "Your blood is the sweetest I've had in such a long time. It's difficult to keep you alive like this. I fear the day I nearly kill you in a feeding frenzy. I will continue to feed on other humans, be they man woman or child. But yours will always be something I treasure."
Kiel scrubbed back his hair, "You mean you don't know? That book knows everything about the past and future involving the angel race. They call it the Book of the Grey. I'm not sure why...despite that it's gray..." He drifted off, pondering the thought before shaking his head hard, "It would know if Tori's right to be the High Court Seraph." Scraps dragged a blue lidded box from under a table and Ren scrounged through it's contents. He frowned, "It's gone... Just a few days ago I had a book of the cycles of the Tree of Life in Heaven. With it gone...I don't really remember the start of the next one. If the Tree of Life sprouts a new Seraph for the High Court and Tori isn't accepted it will take even longer to sort out these problems. Tori has at least been here...she has a connection with Amittai that with a bit of training she would be able to form into a link and let him guide her from Heaven. The new Seraph, if he's born, will change the situation drastically. It's in all of our best interest to aid Tori in being the new Seraph of the High Court." Ren frowned, releasing Kaila, "Yuukki...made that book for me. Where could it have gone?" Sanya nodded, her red eyes turning misty, "Lulu...killed the High Court Seraph that captured her. His barrier will deteriorate over time but she's trapped in the school until then. I'm going to send her back to Hell where she belongs. As a member of the Dark Court...I will avenge my Lord Kyrios' brother." Genesis winced slightly and shrugged out of her grip, "Yes. Nero the Sable is also a Dark Hunter. They're demons employed by an angel named Kadaj. He fell from Heaven for a power much darker than those in Hell. You two, plus two others are going to stop him and protect the angelic race." He gave her a hopeful smile.
Balmore Manor~ Seth shook his head and scooped her up. Dragging her up the stairs he kicked open his door and flung her on the bed. "That's it! Rin...you've no idea about Vampire politics." Rummaging through this drawers, Seth pulled out a thin needle. Licking the wound, he kept a firm grip on Rin's arm he licked his first finger and thumb and popped the buttons on Rin's dress. Pulling out the string holding the buttons on and threaded the needle. Stitching her wrist closed, Seth growled the whole time. "You really should be more careful. Calling a group of Vampires monsters...I'm going to have a dozen and more complaints by the end of the week..." Mirabelle set down the comb and smoothed her dress, "Everything should be done now... I'll go get Seth and tell him you have a favor to ask."
Ryuu followed, "Hey! You got a question, ask away! I'm not just some punk that picks a fight with a defenseless woman for no reason. Goddess Etraine made me her Warrior with the promise that she would protect my world."
Balmore Manor~ Seth grabbed Rin's bleeding wrist and held her close to himself. "Rin!" Several vampires stood, sniffing curiously. Snarling at his guests, Seth gripped her close to him. Though they sniffed, they never moved. Seth knew they wouldn't either. His rare Pureblood blood made them sit still. "Rin, your actions are deliberately tempting my guests and friends. Do this anymore and I'll be forced to provide the proper punishment." Mirabelle sat next to Ceril and Mimi. She pulled out a comb and started brushing Ceril's hair. "Honestly darling, you shouldn't live in a tree anymore. Seth could set you up with a nice home where you would live in peace. Soon...dear...soon we'll fix the flaws in the design and everyone can feel the sunshine without dying." She patted Mimi's head, "Seth may not choose to change her. If it is not her wish, he'll refuse. Seth isn't one to change those at will. He rather doesn't like the process."
Kiel squeezed her hand tight and ruffled Schuyler's hair, "For now...we want to find Gabriel. I think that's the best way to go. Gabriel is apart of the High Court and so far...I haven't seen him. Uriel was down mourning Amittai before...she doesn't seem up to answering questions. Hey...is that book still in Professor Logos' classroom?" Ren relaxed for a moment, "Lord Kyrios...cannot keep us apart if you belong to neither Court. Suceptible to whims of demons...I can hardly believe that you would follow such orders they give without a fight." He pulled away from her a slight moment, keeping his arm wrapped around her waist, Ren ruffled through the bones on his desk and snapped his fingers. "Scraps...will you bring me the box with the blue lid?" The little bone dog scrambled out from under his desk. Sanya stood, clinking in a new form of armor, "I wouldn't do that if I were you. In a moment the school will be riddled with the sounds of battle. I must rid the school of the Dark Hunter." Genesis shifted on his feet, "Dark Hunters are serious business. They're not healthy for angels. After all...they're what's trying to kill you."
Seth's Room~ Cooke frowned, "maybe I shouldn't have said anything after all..." She always was speak first, think later. Balmore Manor~ Seth's blood ran cold as he felt the warmth of Rin. Though he was warmer now, he would never achieve human warmth. He wished he had another body to throw to his guests as they all stared openly at Rin. Some again hungering for the blood of a young child. Setting a hand on her shoulder, he kept her behind him and glared at his guests. "My friends...this is quite a surprise...one I'd hoped never to show you. I have my own guest that is not involved in tonight's party. I apologize for her rude appearance." Turning, he glared at Rin, "What are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay in my room." His chin dripped with fresh blood from the woman earlier and his fingers were stained red from the man's blood. Mirabelle frowned at Ceril and sat next to her. "I know you dislike us...but it really wasn't always all their chosing. I know...if Seth didn't think he was doing the world a favor, he would've let himself starve ages ago. Ceril...you hate these gatherings...yet you come because they are important. Perhaps you'd like to do something better with your existance. Do you like children?"
Kiel cleared his throat noisily, taking the attention away from Tori for a moment, "Actually...Lord Amittai said Tori will continue on in his place with me as her protector. Some...uh...Seraph Enan said that it's not definate until the Lord agrees with Amittai's request." Ren's yellow eyes focused on Kaila finally and he leaned into her hand, "Sorry...staring at a pile of bones will do that to you. I'm alright. Some things..are just hard to take in. With Amittai dead...my own Seraph will become a problem. I fear our time together will be even less than it has been before." he smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist. Penny grinned arrogantly, "Kinda hafta be. With my parents...if you're not strong you ain't gonna make it. At least it made you laugh. That's good enough for one day, right?" Genesis shoved the tuning fork back into his pocket and glanced down the hall watching the shadows on the floor surge toward the noise. "A Dark Hunter. Nothing to be concerned about right now. The Dark Court will handle it. C'mon..."
Balmore Manor~ Seth watched his guest tear apart the man and eventually had Cooke also carry out his remains. He'd have to thank her a lot later. With his guest happy and sated, he motioned for the musicians to play louder and let everyone converse or dance. He hummed to himself and thought back to Rin. Where was Cooke? Seth's Room~ Cooke hurried into Seth's room for a change of his clothes for him. She stopped when she saw Rin. "And what do we have here? A human? Aren't you supposed to be at the party? Ah nevermind...I suppose Seth wanted to keep you, didn't he? Either way...they're done with the messy bit. Stuffs calmed down now. If you want to dance, go downstairs." She busied herself with rummaging through his clothes.
Balmore Manor~ Seth watched as they drained the woman rather quickly. They must've been hungry. How pitiful. Those that had their fill took a seat and smiled happily at Seth. He motioned for the short woman with dull brown hair in a purple dress to take the dead woman away and she did so with a gruff snort. Cooke was always in a bad mood when she saw how much everyone enjoyed blood rather than normal food. She liked to cook and enjoyed watching Seth get used to eating it most nights. Snapping his fingers, Seth stood again, lifting the chin of a younger, female vampire that had barely gotten ahold of the girl. He purred to her and wiped her face with a cloth, "Do not fret young one. I'll make sure all of you are fed tonight." Straightening, Seth waited for Yuka to haul in the latest investor in Anthony at the bank. He was bound and gagged and stumbled into the room with wide eyes. "MY friends...witness before you one who has wronged vampires this day. This man...is a recent publisher of a book enlisting us as monsters...fell creatures that should be put down like dogs! This...is an outrage to our kind...and thus...the normal vampire punishment must be carried out." Without a hint of remorse, Seth tore the ragged clothing off his back, leaving him in his underwear and set a now warm hand on his shoulder, "My friend....the fates are cruel. There is no hope...no honor remains. For us...there is always the redeeming honor of the night. For you...a star shines but only a moment longer. I pray you do not enjoy this. Suffer...the pain and torment our kind have suffered for millenia." He made a deft movement and the man's head rolled into the crowd. Kicking his body forward those that hadn't had their fill set upon him like savage dogs. Minus the cries, the sounds of teeth piercing flesh and blood being sucked from his veins could be heard clearly. Sitting again, he crossed his legs and licked at the blood on his fingers.
Kiel nodded. He didn't know at all what to say to make her feel better about her job. Yves had said he'd watch over her, but that wasn't much help as this was still reality and he was gone. Ren jumped, bumping the bones and his vision blurred. Rubbing his eyes he stood and groped the wall until he found the door. Pulling it open he continued to rub his eyes, "Yes...I know all about the High Court Seraph's death. There's only one advantage to being a bone finatic...and that's the ability to see everything with a small amount of concentration." Penny watched Sanya slip back further into the infermary and continue the soft clanking noises she made before. Groaning, he frowned at Tristan, "Not in the slightest. She was just interesting. After all...the girls at school are boring and original. I think this girl will be my new ticket to seeing something unique. Ah, don't you worry none, Tristan... Sooner or later...all the girls come around to me." Genesis escorted the two into the building and noted the tense atmosphere. Confused he pulled out a tuning fork? and struck it against the wall. The dull ringing sounded through the school and somewhere, Lulu shrieked in pain from the sound.
Balmore Manor~ Once she was brought to him, Seth sat with her on his lap and crooned to her, stroaking her throat. "Such a lovely woman." She panicked and Seth chuckled. He drew out the razor from his pocket and quickly sliced her wrists, thighs and both sides of her throat. Barely containing his joy, he licked the flowing line of blood from her neck and bit into her savagely. After only a few mouthfuls, Seth tossed her to the crowd of hungry Vampires. Her change wouldn't set in if she was drained by the rest and burned afterwards. Sitting comfortably in his seat, he watched his fellow Vampires feed with rising happiness at their pleasure. The woman moaned senselessly and he expected the hormones produced would make it all feel like the best thing she'd ever had. Mirabelle covered Mimi's ears and gently picked her up and walked her to the stain glass window that wasn't broken.
Balmore Manor~ Seth slammed the door shut and calmed himself. Humans always riled him up. Moving in a relaxed and casual manner, Seth descended the stairs and entered the room with his guests. Smiling, he watched them all bow and speak the same thing at the same time. "Sensei." Feeling more at home, Seth took his time meadering through the crowd and greeting important people. He mumbled something to Yuka, who appeared at his side and disappeared in an instant. Reaching Anthony and the secretary, Seth took her hand and kissed the back of it formally. "I'm glad you could make it." She blushed and he licked the inside of her wrist. "Though you were good at your job...you will enjoy tonight more than anything." he promised and sauntered away. Standing on the elevated portion, where the high backed chair sat, Seth lifted his hands to the ceiling, "My friends! I'm very pleased to see you all tonight. Please...feel free to dine on what I've provided and now...we'll begin the best part of the night!" Capturing everyone's attention, he smiled and waved for Anthony to bring up the secretary. "I give to you, a woman who has lusted for our kind and wished to be one of us. Alas...this is something I will not grant to her. She has been chosen to provide us with the most wonderful gift....the gift of her fresh blood." The woman struggled, fear in her eyes as all the Vampire eyes turned to her filled with hunger.
