Hermia nodded again and closed her large violet blue eyes. The daylight was starting to sting at her retinas a little.
Urgh... This is twice now I've woken up before 6am. It's the holiday goddammit D8 fml ;-;
"Who is it...?" Casey enquired from the blankety depths of his warm, quiet haven. Not that he really cared, he just felt like he should try and make conversation or it'd be rude.
"Yeah, just a couple more minutes. If that." Lake agreed with her son. The girl was looking paler and paler by the second. She couldn't help but feel worried, very worried. Lake was a worrier by nature, and she felt an attachment to the girl already. It wasn't very often she met another female werewolf, in fact she'd only ever met one other, and she sensed that perhaps if her life had been different she might of turned out more like Hermia. Stronger willed, in fact just stronger in general. Hermia nodded weakly to show she'd understood what they'd said, she could feel the throbbing in her head and her muscles had begun to cramp up. Running so fast for so long had been a terrible idea, but she could't have let Danny get away, it would of been a disaster for everyone.
Hermia coughed slightly and wheezed again.
"Yeah, I guess so." Ocean shrugged. "I'll have a look when we get home. What are you a size ten?" Hermia nodded slightly. "Yeah, I'll have plenty of stuff."
"I'm comfy here though..." Casey whined in a muffled voice.
"From experience more then anything, though I can't say I've ever been running for as long as you must of been sweetheart." Lake smiled understandingly. "Thank you Mrs Malfoy..." Hermia smiled weakly. Ocean slid into her seat next to Elena and shut the car door behind her.
"Thank you..." Casey muttered, snuggling back up under the covers with a smug sense of warm satisfaction. It almost cancelled out the pain in his head, almost.
"I just ache all over..." She mumbled, weakly rubbing her eyes. Ache was an understatement, it felt like her entire body was throbbing in agony as she'd been running purely on will-power and adrenaline for the last few hours. Lake sat down in the passenger seat at the front and did up her seat belt quickly. "You just need some rest sweetheart, and a bath would probably help."
Casey awoke to the sound of crashing cereal and screaming children. His hang over smacked him over the head almost instantly. "CORY!" He shouted from under his blanket covering.
Lake followed swiftly after him, now she was out of sight of Elena the worry on her face was so much more apparent. She'd been hoping that damn prophecy had been a lie, a fake, false. Apparently it wasn't, and now her family was in danger. The world was in danger. She couldn't help but think 'Damn supremacist vampires...' "Yo-You're no-not doing th-this alone..." She croaked. "I've do-done too mu-much to lea-leave no-now... Besides, you're going to need all the help you can get."
"I-I do-don't know..." She whispered, unable to speak much louder as the exhaustion set deeper in. "They should be, just worn themselves out. Now, let's get going."
Casey, who had pretty much collapsed onto the sofa (and onto his sister) once he'd gotten home, was sprawled out across it. He grunted in a muffled manner and tried to hug the entire sofa, not that he could. Luckily for him, just before she left, Elle decided to be nice and dumped a duvet onto him to keep him warm during the night.
"Good." Lake giggled. "Now, we need to go. One of River's friends is a bit poorly so they're coming to stay with us for a while." "Tw-Two months... May--" She winced and her face contorted in pain before she relaxed again. "Maybe two and a half..." Hermia mumbled, worried at what reaction this would bring. Would he be mad? Sad? What?
"T-Tired..." She stammered out between deep, rasping breaths. "I-I've be-been af-after him fo-for two da-days..." She'd been watching him since she first got wind of him up north almost two months ago, but the last chase had been going on for only a couple of days at a rough guess. As far as she knew it'd been much longer, she hadn't been paying too much attention to the time, just keeping him away from people. "Mummy had a bit of an accident, so she's borrowing some of Aunty Maddie's clothes. Right Ocean?" Lake smiled kindly. "Yep, because Aunt Maddie's nice like that. And Mum is really clumbsy." She giggled, trying to back her mother up and stop the girl from catching on. OOC- If you like.
Ocean patted her little sister's head and lead her downstairs again to where her parents were waiting for the two of them. Luckily the girl didn't seem to of noticed the chaos that had been taking place downstairs whilst she and her cousin were squirrelled away upstairs. Hermia dropped her head backwards onto the head rest and closed her eyes. Her chest heaving up and down as she tried to consume enough oxygen to fuel her body.
OOC- Bai bai ^^ "Unlike you." Casey snickered.
"Come on kiddo." Ocean smiled, holding out her hand for the little one to take. As she was placed into the car Hermia quickly crossed her legs to avoid any major embarrassment.
Casey shook his head. "I don't want to risk waking her up. Just in case."
