I adore the living daylights out of Studio Ghibli... From the likes of Spirited away to The Cat Returns, you're guaranteed a good plot and a smile across your face any day. I loved The Cat Returns, Spirited Away, Princess Monoke, Howl's moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Ponyo, Porco Rosso... And I've yet to see the rest. x
So I had recently gone over to the cinema with some friends of mine to see Date Night. Prior to watching it, I had no idea as to how it was going to be like. Might I just say I didn't regret watching it at all. Loved every moment of watching this film in general. I'm not one to usually go for Romantic Comedy, but this seemed to hit the spot for making my day back when I watched it. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. c:
I quite agree with you. Although the trailer doesn't tell us much, I still prefer the one they aired on the BBC channel. Maybe its just me, but I'm not that excited after seeing that trailer... But then again I shouldn't judge the film by what's on the trailer, so you never know...
You're right in the sense that his quality of films has been diminishing as of late, becoming more cliche like to feed off to the masses that adore his work, but you never know with Burton. Maybe he might spring out unexpectedly with a highly addictive, original film (Or that could be just me getting my hopes up)... I'm not particularly a huge fan of him making Maleficent's back story as I like her the way she is... Pure evil. I wouldn't want to see how and why she had decided to turn evil (unless its an amazing back story, which I doubt would happen nowadays.). Wicked-ising it would just ruin it for me, full stop. Please Burton, if you are going to continue with this project... make it the best damn film there is.
I think that it'll be quite interesting as long as the writers don't lose the plot and drag it on for too long. However, I was never too certain about whether Russell Brand... If he really was going to play as Jack Sparrow's brother or not... Could be a rumor I had heard about a few months ago, but do you guys suppose that there's still a sporting chance that this could happen?
