Hermia giggled slightly and leant down so their lips met. She kissed him softly before pulling away again. "Now, before we do that again you need to sort out your morning breath." She laughed.
"Aren't you Mr. Tough Talk." Jacob laughed, swinging backwards on the swing slightly. "And you're not getting an option with me joining in, I'm fed up of wasting my abilities. I have the ability to fight, I just can't because I'm too young and sh*t like that." He said rolling his eyes. "Oh, I know he's in trouble. It's River after all." Ocean giggled weakly, unsure if she should mention how he's gone AWOL or not.
"I never denied being a pervert, if you remember." She said in a softly taunting voice. OOC- I guess so.
"I think you under-estimate the power of Team Werewolf here River." Jacob chuckled. "I'm pretty certain we've got more than enough power to take down a few soldiers. I mean there's me, your Dad, you, your Mum, Hermia, Uncle Ben and his pack of about ten other wolves. That's already sixteen without even stretching it." He smirked. "I have no idea." She said leaning against a counter and hanging her head. "He refused to talk to anyone about it."
"Well it is a bit of an added bonus for me." She grinned, giving a cheeky wink.
Jacob's jaw dropped, he was in shock from what he'd just heard. He knew there were factions in the world that would do anything to prevent exposure of the magical world and their little sub-worlds of werewolves and vampires and banshees and such. But he had no idea they were this big, or this dangerous. Or had these abilities. "Everyone's your family though. They'll love you no matter what, and it's not like we'll let you get thrown to the wolves, as it were. Or at least I know I wouldn't. It took a lot of balls to just up and leave like you did, so you have my respect for that." He said, bowing his head slightly as a sign of respect. "No." She said shaking her head. "They've barely spoken two words to each other. He's tried apologising, but that's not going to be enough to repair all that damage... I keep telling him to talk to her, but he won't listen. It's almost seems as though he doesn't really care... And I think Hermia's picked up on that vibe too."
"I guess you'll just have to work shirtless today then." She said in a playfully teasing way, leaning down to his level as he was sat on the bed.
"She's become really self-destructive. I haven't actually told River most of this because it'd just make him feel terrible. She'd disappear off the face of the earth for up to two months at a time and come back half-dead from exhaustion and injuries from fights with vampires. She'd drink herself into oblivion every chance she got. Once I even caught her trying to hook up with some random guy, thing is because of the imprinting it didn't really work. The guy could tell she wasn't being completely serious so obviously nothing happened. It was the most bizarre flirting I've ever seen. But yeah, you get the picture." Ocean said, her brow furrowing with worry. You could tell she'd been quite disturbed by it all. "Firstly: What is this organisation army thing? and secondly: Who's gotten you so worried? I can smell the tension around you." Jacob asked, once again the level of maturity in him being slightly more then just a tad unnerving.
"If you mean that disgusting one you've been wearing for the last two days your mum picked it up a couple of hours ago. She said if you wore it much longer it would start to join in with the training." Hermia giggled.
"Worse." Ocean nodded. "She was like how Mum was for about a year or so, it was pretty rare to see her as a human actually around then. To the point we were debating if getting a dog basket might be good idea so she didn't always get fur all over the bedsheets in River's room. Then it started to change." "Good, good." Jacob nodded as he headed outside and down off the patio to the swings that were still up at the bottom of the garden despite the fact all the grandchildren were pretty grown up already. He sat down one one of them and let it swing gently under him.
Hermia giggled slightly. "Come on you. You've had way more sleep then usual anyway."
"Hermia isn't doing good, to say the least." Ocean sighed. "You remember what Mum was like when Dad buggered off for a while?" She asked, trying to think of the best way to describe Hermia's state of mind. Jacob stepped back up to his elder cousin and murmured quietly to him in his ear. "I'm guessing that you don't want them to know... But I'd be quite interested to find out who's after you." He stepped backwards and headed towards the back door. "You want to come outside for a bit River? I don't expect you want to hear about what I imagine you've already witnessed."
"You heard her sleepy-head." Hermia giggled as she set the cup down on the ground. She wandered over to try and help the others get River out of bed.
Jacob slowly walked up to him and sniffed deeply as though reading the scent. "Bloody hell River." He said taking a step back from him. "What?" Ocean said raising her eyebrow at her youngest cousin. Curious as to what he'd sniffed, it wasn't exactly a normal thing for him to do this far away from the full moon. "What he said." Jacob said, jerking his head towards River.
"Well then we should probably stop talking about it in case he comes in, we don't want to make him sad, do we?" Hermia said, quickly trying to change the subject before someone got upset.
Jacob shrugged. "No idea. Genetic throw back I guess. Since Mum is a carrier and we have no idea about my Dad's parents I could just of gotten lucky. After all, mongrels do tend to be healthier then pedigrees." He said, a slight smirk twitching at the corner of his lips. The petty, but most likely playful, jab at their different parentage seeming to amuse him.
"Sounds like there's quite a sad story behind that little bear then." Hermia said, smiling in a wistful way. She often wished she had some toy from her childhood, a keepsake or even just something of any sentimental value. But she didn't, she didn't even have so much as a memory of her parents.
Jacob let out a laugh that betrayed his physical appearance, it sounded much more like one would expect a thirteen year old boy to sound like. "No, I'm not on drugs or anything." He chuckled. "I guess I just grew up quickly. I started shifting recently, and then the muscles and height and everything just kinda came with it. Going back to school in the autumn is going to be great." Jacob added with a slightly perverse grin. "Needless to say Jacob here is putting your wolfiness to shame." Ocean said in an amused voice, she'd been waiting for Jacob and River to meet ever since he came home. It was bound to be an interesting one. "All of this and not so much as a change in diet. Let alone a year of training."
"Bless him." Hermia giggled. "That was very nice of him to give you the bear, just a shame he can't part with it."
Ocean's comment was met with a small, unamused snort. The 'boy' who had made the dark comment wandered out into view. He'd grown an awful lot in the last six years. Now instead of being small for his age he was very tall, easily as tall as River. And he'd bulked out too, he was lean and muscular. If you looked closely enough at him you could just make out the outline of his abdominal and chest muscles through the shirt. Most people couldn't believe he was only thirteen years of age when they saw him, he could easily pass for a sixteen year old or even older.
