I have no idea how this stuff happens. Sometimes, the internet has this weird sense of viral humour that is beyond all comprehension. Sometimes it just takes one person to post something on Twitter/Instagram and suddenly it blows up to ludicrous degrees for seemingly no reason. I think that's just the nature of social media. There's always some stupid joke going around wherever you go, but on the internet there's just a lot more of them. And probably even more stupid.
I've found that for me, I both listen and tune people out, although I'm usually quite blatant about what I do in these situations. I have a fairly limited friendship group that I have cultivated over the years so I'm surrounded by mostly people that I like and will listen to and will receive the same in kind, although within that I have a select few that I generally turn to and they generally turn to me likewise. I will happily listen to people when they have issues. I don't necessarily know what to do about it and I've hardly had all the life experience that is required to give actual reliable advice, however I do listen to them and whatever troubles them. If it's within an area that I've had some personal experience in, then I generally speak of that to try and provide something for them to think on and then acting on what they conclude from mine and their experiences. But primarily, I'm a listener. Generally, I don't 'hear' as it were. I pay attention to when people need to talk to me about something, because if they're talking about it then I ought to listen to them because if it's important enough that they need to say something then it is deserving of my attention. However, I also have a similar experience to Marushi with one of my friends. They simply complain about their own life as much as possible and will go on and on about it while taking no action to deal with the problems that they are having. They simply complain about the same issue day in, day out and generally, I blank them because I've heard it all before. That said, I generally make it known. For the most part, such discussions occur at lunch and break times (still at school) and during the library during a lunchtime when I want to just relax and read my books. When they start talking and it's something they've gone on about over and over, I flat out tell them that I'm reading and they should say something later. They're generally irritating to me because I just can't stand hearing the same thing over and over. But it's even more infuriating that every time I try and talk, he'll blank me and go mess about with a phone or get back on to his own stuff while I'm trying to talk. It's honestly infuriating. Perhaps it's because I will ignore him at times because I simply don't want to deal with it right now, but he doesn't seem to have time for me ever so I consider it fair play. And sometimes, I find that I just don't have the energy to deal with things and he happens to be particularly exhausting for me. However, I have a few friends who I don't blank and don't blank me in return. It's to them that I do most of the talking because they're 1: more reliable and 2: They're older and more willing to listen/experienced in life. If only by a couple of years, it makes a difference and I take pointers from their way of operating to try and better the way I am myself. I would say I have very much taken that to heart and people who know me would probably say over the past couple of years I have changed a lot, and for the better because of those people who are willing to listen and have showed me that the greatest respect you can give someone is your time to listen to them. To answer the question you posed Marushi: When I do tune people out (usually because I start daydreaming because something they've said triggers a specific thing to come to mind), I tell them. I believe in being honest about things so I will admit I'd tuned them or stopped listening. Usually I'd say something like "Sorry, say that again. Drifted off for a bit." and then try and incite them to repeat themselves, this time diverting more attention to them. I think it's more rude to just let it drop honestly, because they're spending their time talking to you for some reason, which would suggest that they see value in speaking to you. The least you can do to pay them back for actually taking a bit of time to talk to you instead of the others they could be speaking to is to apologise when you ignore them while they're speaking and try to get back to the conversation. If they wanted to share something, then hear them out. That's my view on the matter at any rate.
Evtheven Cathedral Alessia listened attentively to what Johanna was saying to explain this strange, strange situation that the Cathedral children were in. She wondered if the children played Stick like that before Leon's ghost started haunting people or if he brought that with them. What had happened to the poor boy... He was lost out there, with nobody to look after him... Where did he go? What happened? She felt sad. He probably wanted to play with his friends, but he was dead so he could only possess people... She wanted to know what happened to him. Why had he come back and not simply gone Beyond? He seemed to want to find his father. It was strange to think that a boy was hiding inside that girl, but it had to be... How did the children know it was Leon for that matter? So many questions, so few answers... They had to find out though, one way or another. And Ren... He was still taking care of poor Leon, trying to put him to rest. That was good of him. They had to figure this out, for Leon, not just the other children. This had to end. His soul shouldn't have to suffer like this.
Evtheven Cathedral Alessia's jaw dropped when she called Ren her father and grasped him. She covered her mouth, regaining her composure but still shocked, watching the scene unfold out in front of her. Immediately her thoughts began to cascade. Ren was a father? Was there more to this man than it seemed? Who was he? Who was she? Why was she in care when she had a father? It was heart breaking to watch. The girl was crying. Was it happy or sad? She guessed happy. She wasn't good at understanding people from their expressions, but even she could tell that Ren looked sad. Why? Wasn't he happy to see his daughter? Then it was answered. Ren wasn't the father? Then who was? Did he look like her father? Why was she there? What was causing this? Her heart broke even more as she listened. He was gentle. Very gentle. She could believe he was a father. The way he handled this, so carefully and supportively, it reminded her of her own father. A pang of homesickness hit her again. How were her family doing? She'd have to write a letter home when she got back from the mission. After this... She decided she would have to talk to the man and find out more. He didn't seem it at first... But perhaps he was a truly good man at heart. She didn't know what to make of him before, but maybe, beneath that exterior... She barely recognised the person that she saw gambling his money away so casually at the guild. Who was he? And what was going on with the child? Either way, she had a lot of questions...
Evtheven Cathedral Another one of those things... What was going on here there was nothing like this earlier. Where had they all come from? Just, where? These blue spirits, how could they just appear like that? Where could they have been this entire time? These children were in danger, serious danger that was for sure. She kept looking around, moving as fast as she could. She couldn't lose that child. Where could she have gone? If she couldn't find her soon, then she'd have to go back and tell them that someone was lost in the forest, and the sooner the better. She thought she saw something behind another bush, near the edge of the forest towards the cathedral. Maybe the child had found her way! She rushed forwards, sprinting now. "Hello! Hello!" She called. She jumped, bursting through the bush being scratched and slapped by every branch as she did so. She was met by a ghostly laugh and a blue wisp. She gripped her sword and swung as hard as she could in a lightning fast diagonal slash, the same way she had dispatched the others. Before her strike even connected, the wisp faded away in a flash of blue, leaving a little rain of sparkling blue dust in it's wake. Where did it go? Then she heard the call and looked up. Johanna was calling. She took one last despairing look before running back. Where was that girl? Why did she run? She didn't understand. When she arrived, breathless she looked up and breathed a sigh of relief. "There she is!" She panted. "I've been looking for her all over the forest the poor girl must have got lost in there. Is she okay?" Child's Play He hadn't seen that look on Zarine's face before. It couldn't have been good. She looked worried. They'd sort this out. What could be so unsettling about the goings on in the house that called her to the guild, and gave her that worried look? He showed no sign of this concern for her at all and Caliborn's face remained as it was. He became acutely aware of the bow and blade at his back though. This situation troubled him. He disliked it when strange things meddled with his friends. Outwardly of course, his calm demeanour never shook. "Very well, we shall accompany if you wish." Caliborn said, stepping inside. He took note to wipe his boots on the mat provided, although they weren't all that dirty in the first place so it was basically pointless. It was a very nice house though. He had always liked it. "Everyone, keep your eyes out. There are strange goings on here, so be cautious." It went without saying, but it would hopefully make Zarine feel better knowing that everyone was on their guard for anything strange going on. The knowledge could be reassuring, even if it was quite obvious.
Evtheven Cathedral Alessia used Quick Blitz
Evtheven Cathedral "What the hell was that thing?" She gasped. It died quickly, fizzling into dissolution with a slice of her blade. Something was still unsettling about it though. Maybe it was the strange child-like laugh, or the way it just floated and danced, it was just creepy. This place wasn't safe she had to find that child. She had to be here somewhere. As she searched, she thought she heard someone call her name. Maybe it was Ander? She wasn't sure. She was too busy looking for the child in this God-forsaken forest. She thought she spied something behind another bush and rushed around to see... Alessia searched Bush 1
Alessia used Quick Blitz (Because a long post for this is way too much effort)
Child's Play It wasn't a long ride to the next town over across pleasant countryside. The weather was fine, which was a plus. It would have been a miserable affair to be out in the rain. The town of Ichigo was coming up. it was quite large. He knew from previous visits that it was divided functionally into two halves. Although it wasn't official, people had divided the city into Magical and Non Magical districts. Generally, they were called out to deal with problems in the magical district because people had all kinds of accidents in there, although it was less common to have problems in the non magical section. He led them down one of the main roads towards the richer area of the city. He knew where to find Zarine's house. He'd been a guest at their place enough times that he could get there in his sleep. They arrived at the house within minutes of getting into the town thanks to Caliborn's speedy pathfinding. The house was two stories. Small in comparison to some of the stuff up at the higher end of this district but very respectable in comparison to much of the housing. And while not the tallest, it was certainly wide. He wasn't quite sure how many rooms there were exactly. He never bothered counting but there were plenty enough. The facade of the house showed the front door covered by an archway on a small porch with a small set of stairs leading up to it. It was a brick house, and he could see at least eight windows at the front divided equally between the top and bottom floor. A single large chimney rose up letting a little smoke out into the cool air of the day. There was a nicely tended front lawn and Caliborn knew there was a reasonably sized garden behind the house. "Alright everyone, as respectful as you can please. Zarine is an old friend and I wouldn't like her to be offended." He didn't expect any trouble though. This was a nice group. He was unlikely to have to worry. Satoya High School They too happened to be on the road to Ichigo. He wasn't sure if any of the other guild members had noticed but all the jobs were here. What was going on? Apparently this town was all sorts of cursed at the moment. Curious. He saw Caliborn's group heading straight ahead, although they had a right turn. Weird. It was almost as if all of this was perfectly timed... That had to be his suspicion talking. That was unlikely. He followed the wooden signposts to the school. It was more time consuming that anything. The way that Caliborn was leading them he seemed to know the place rather well. He remembered him going out frequently here, but he never realised how well the guy knew it. Well, that was interesting. When they arrived at the school, it was your average school campus. He walked through the gates and addressed the group. "No magic where possible. This is the non-magical quarter of the town and they won't take kindly to us rushing in spells blazing. Also this is a school. Best behaviour. Now, we're going to see the principal. Ask him question if you have them, but make sure you're polite and afford him with the respect that he deserves." With his short lecture done, Dale knocked and when summoned, led the team inside... Evtheven Cathedral Alessia was lost. Where did she go? Why did she run away like that? No matter. She had to find the child. She did her best to follow the stick whacking noise, but it was to limited avail. It echoed all over the place around here so it was anyone's guess where it came from. "Come on, where are you?" She asked nobody in particular. She didn't like this, not one bit. Looking for a lost child in the woods never bode well. Sighing, she made her way around. She thought she caught movement, and so ran over to check out Bush 2. Alessia investigated Bush 2 (Forest)
Satoya High School "Alright, here's the gist of things." Dale began. "A young student from a highschool near by has asked us to investigate the school for paranormal activity. Apperently a student at the school had been acting strange after a Ouji board was brought in. She jumped on her desk in the middle of class, and she was eating sand from the sand box. They think she might be possessed by a fox. Another student also contacted me. She explained that a seat in her class had been cursed. Every single person who's sat there in the last few months had undergone an accident. And the same type of accident too. They've all gotten their arms caught in the doors of the trains, and then been dragged by it. The teacher was also effected, making a fuss about seeing ghosts. He ended up in the hospital and keeps coughing up blood and they can't figure out why. There's all sorts of random and strange accidents. After we were told about this, the Prinicple also asked us for our help. They're full of non magical students, and no one knows what to do. That's what we're there to do. We've got to sort out this series of curses and spirits upon the school. Any questions? If not, now we ride! Just observe one thing- I give an order and you follow. That way everyone comes out of here alive." Alright, that was that. Now it was time to test the teamwork skills here. He had no idea how this was going to work. Hopefully, they all listened to him. If they didn't, there was going to be trouble. Whenever authority was questioned there was always trouble. He stood up and straightened his coat. He looked at them all in the eye for a few seconds each, trying to get a read on those faces in front of him. Strange faces, apart from Scarlett, but even she was little stranger than the rest. A fragile alliance it was between the two of them. Perhaps it could be strengthened with time, but for now... He was thinking of her too closely. She could be a friend, but she could be like the rest. He hoped she was someone he could trust. He needed more than just Caliborn, Johanna and Evanora. The more people the better. Lucia and Calxiyn... They would listen surely. The two of them presented themselves in good order, but everyone else was an enigma. Some more than others. That woman was still starting at Lucia. These people made no sense. Show me what you've got team. Show me who you are. If you're good... Then we may just get somewhere... Only time will tell. And then maybe, one or two of you will be good to me in the future. I refuse to be this way forever! I will make something of myself here, and maybe, just maybe, Johanna will be mine... And no masked men to get in my way!
Child's Play Sometimes Mikasa could be a lot of work. He dearly hoped she learned to drop the pride eventually. She could be nice at times, but she was just so trying most of the time. One of these days she was going to get herself in a lot of trouble. He could scarcely imagine the stress that she must cause Evanora. Sighing, he returned to his seat and the people arrayed in front of him. "Of course you are welcome on the mission Silvia. I have every confidence that your healing talents may come in useful." Caliborn answered. "And there is no need to apologise. You'll get along just fine here. Trust me. Relax and everything will be okay." She seemed nervous. He'd keep an eye on her. In the case that she needed some positive reinforcement he'd be on hand to provide it. Next to arrive, was Skadi. "Glad to have you aboard Skadi. There's a first time for everything. After this, you should have a little experience under your belt- Invaluable when it comes to this line of work." He said. And then the next one approached. Eventually, everyone gathered around and so, he introduced them all to their mission. "3 days ago my good friend, Zarine, contacted me with a job. There's something strange in the house. The Funiture will rattle all by itself, she'll hear knocking on the rooms when she is the only one home. Doors will open and close without any warning. As you can imagine, she's pretty frightened. She has a young daughter named Elayne and her sister Siuan in the house." Caliborn explained. "Seems to us that we've got a curse on our hands, and we're setting out to deal with it. If you're all ready, then we shall set out immediately." Satoya High School "Looks like you're stuck with me today." The voice of Scarlett interrupted his thoughts. He was in thought after Johanna left. Scarlett showed up, and that was his sphere of thought around his auburn haired love shattered. He looked at her. Different outfit. Dale's was much the same as it was yesterday. Her trousers could do with a bit of fixing though. The tears were there for a reason, he could tell. He knew what she was trying to pull. She wasn't bad looking, but she wasn't Johanna. At least he wasn't that awkward around Scarlett. He didn't feel the usual sense of contempt. "Rather you than some people around here." Dale said coolly. Yes, she was easy to speak around. That was something. He supposed that made her a friend. Now that was a first. He didn't have many of those. Then another person appeared. Another girl. Purple hair. Enthusiastic seeming. Not bad. He did however appreciate what she said. Sir? Well, she was respectful that was a good start. Such a formal greeting only warranted a formal response. The way she addressed him automatically swung his mind into his leadership mode. To assume command, you had to take it. "Stand by for briefing then." Dale stated. Of course, his whole act got blown apart when the next person arrived. Beucette was a special case he could already tell. Hon? Who the hell called him hon? But what was even stranger was the weird as hell way she looked at Lucia. He was lost for words. Who the hell was she? "Erm, right. Sure. Welcome aboard." Not that you're one you actually have the option to say no to. And then someone else showed up. She was nowhere near as overbearing and confusing as Beucette, so it was fine. She was enthusiastic. And obviously very excited. Could her eyes get any wider? "Welcome aboard." Dale said simply. He wasn't quite sure how to react to this group. Two parts difficult, two parts easy. Lucia and Cal were definitely easier to deal with than the other two. Scarlett was perhaps too casual and may not listen and Beucette... She was herself. She was a special case. Evtheven Cathedral She knelt down in front of the girl in front of her. Something seemed... Wrong. The way she stared blankly and just said "Tap" over and over again at her, as if she was barely there. It seemed wrong. So wrong. Something wasn't right with the child. Maybe she was a special case here? In which case, she'd best head back. All roads led back to the playground so she could take her back to the others. "Hey, what are you doing out here?" She asked softly. She extended a hand out to the child, as if to offer her a hand up. She smiled at her in a motherly fashion. "And why are you hitting the trees with that stick?"
Evtheven Cathedral "Calm down there. There's a better time for these questions. I'll tell you later. Let's just get the children talking and then we'll chat. I don't know what sort of magic you can do, but I use Aero mostly so that'll be my trick. If you've got anything else then you can use that." Alessia replied. Jeez, he was a little nervous. All those questions just came blurting out. It was weird. She had just started, like he did. What was getting to him? Was he nervous around girls or something. I'm not that bad am I? Hmm, some people were just socially nervous. Maybe he was like that. Well, if that was the case then she'd have to be accommodating to that. No need to make someone feel even more awkward. She would sit down and chat to him as soon as the children were dealt with though, but until then he'd have to wait. CLACK CLACK CLACK She looked around to the source of the noise. It sounded like someone was whacking a stick against something, and as the sound went on, she could tell it came from the treeline. She squinted. Nope, nobody there from what she could tell. In that case... She'd have to take a look. That wasn't a normal sound. She frowned. Why would someone do that? Something just felt, weird. It had to be a child right? Adults didn't do that. Not usually. Her suspicions about this place already piqued and now the thought of a lost child when the children were in danger... That set off alarm bells in her head. "Hey Ander, look after them. I'd better go find out what that was. If there's a child out there, I should bring them back. I'll be right back." She sounded a little distant as she said that. She was trying to figure out what would have made that and why, but child was the only thing that sprung to mind. CLACK CLACK CLACK. Still going. It didn't stop. What was going on? Were they lost? Did they want attention? CLACK CLACK CLACK. She started running toward the trees as fast as she could, acutely aware of the sword at her belt. If she was needed then she had to be there as quick as she could. What if they were in danger? Before long she was there. It wasn't hard from that point. The whacking noise was louder, louder always louder as she got near. She searched hurriedly, trusting her ears to lead her right. Where could this lost one be? Where? Where? Where? As she searched, the noise was louder than ever. She saw something moving from behind one tree and turned around it, to see the child.
"Actually, you know what never mind. You guys are too cute!" Alessia conceded, just to keep up appearances. She wanted to make sure that they didn't think there was too much wrong over here. She looked to Johanna and Ren and spoke discreetly. "Find out what's going on, then one of you come find me. I want to know what's going on here." With that dealt with, it was time to go play with them. She saw Ander over here too. He was kneeling down getting to know one child, but she had an idea. Maybe if they did it differently... What if they did it all as a group? They were wizards? They had magic, so, could they have some fun with that? With this in mind, once Ander had introdced himself to the child, she pulled him aside. "Hey, Ander, I have an idea." She said. "Why don't we get them in a group, then we can introduce ourselves as a group. And then we can show them some of our magic. That'll entertain them won't it?" She was noticeably happy and excited. Children were wonderful! It was a nice distraction from the serious issue and besides, if anything came to hurt them, her and Ander were there to keep them safe.
"I'm sorry guys, but I'm going to talk to the Father. I'll come out and play as soon as I can though, okay?" She promised. First things first though, she had to find out what was going on here. The children were so nice, and friendly. She felt really bad about not playing with them. She wanted to. But she had to keep them safe. And for that, she needed to find out what was going on. She had a feeling someone else was going to. The way Ander was talking, he was bound to, just so he could take care of them. She decided that she liked him. If they had a moment spare, she'd talk to him. He seemed rather grave in a way, but never the mind. He was caring enough to be worried for the children and that was enough for her. She also considered what Johanna said. So this is where she grew up? Did Dale know that? Why was she even thinking about that? Curiosity, she supposed. She seemed to speak of him in quite a familiar way, so perhaps he'd know about all this. That wasn't her business though. That was between those two. Still, it would be nice learning in what sort of a place Johanna grew up in, despite how sad it was that she didn't really have her parents and was brought up here. It seemed a nice enough place and she turned out quite well, so it couldn't be that bad.
Alessia wasn't a good tell for people, but even she could tell that Johanna was hiding something. That fact kind of stung, considering they had got on so well. Hopefully it wasn't anything too important, or she would tell them later. On the ride there, that occupied much of her mind while she looked at the scenery. What could it be? A Cathedral needing help with... something. That was vague at best. There probably weren't any monsters there otherwise Johanna would have said so. No reason to hide that right? So, maybe it was something more complicated. A haunting? But why wouldn't she say that? It had to be something else, but she had no idea. This was all nicely out of her mind when she arrived. She was quite struck by the building. It was simple, but a refined design and the grounds, they were just beautiful. The rolling greens and the trees made it look nice and friendly. What could ever go wrong here? As they approached, something else caught her eye. There were children! She had always loved children. They were cute and she missed playing around when she was younger. They looked like they were having fun, running around and playing their games, getting grass stains all over their clothes like kids did. That was just the way they were. She smiled, almost beaming and waved enthusiastically and the young ones as they went about their playing. "Hello!" Alessia called, waving her arm energetically. This place was so nice! She was glad she came. Johanna went on to explain why the children was there. That was nice of the Father to do that for them. It was nice that those kids were being looked after somewhere. They'd need to have somewhere to be. "That's really nice of the Father to do that. This is a wonderful place." So what's going on here that they need help with? Her pulse rate picked up as a motherly protective instinct came over her. The children! They might be in danger! No wonder they needed our help. The question of what was happening returned to her mind as she smiled and waved. She had to figure it out. They had to. For them. They didn't deserve to be put in danger from some threat, but what could it possibly be?
Alessia is ready to go to Evtheven Cathedral
Alessia rubbed her eyes groggily and yawned as she came to, finally awakening from her peaceful sleep. Amazingly, she had fitted in just fine around here and was able to sleep just fine. Sometimes she felt uneasy about sleeping in new places, but she was comfortable here. Maybe it was because she had such nice room mates. Johanna and Carmen were really nice. Scarlett was, well... Scarlett. Maybe she'd be alright in the end too, but still. What she said about the guild yesterday was unacceptable and she would get an apology for it some time. How couldn't you like the people here? Sure some of them were bigheaded at times, but they were nice. Mostly. Bar one maybe. What was that guy's problem? Pulling two ice blades on a new person? That was just wrong. Maybe the masked guy had asked for it but still... Something was weird with that situation. Why had it got so heated? After quickly changing into her usual outfit of a simple dark grey shirt with a matching skirt, knee high socks and her reliable old pair of grey travelling boots, she messed with her hair quickly, pushing it into its normal position. Then, she went to get some breakfast. A bowl of cereal later, she too was at the job board clamouring to get work. Apparently those crazies that had the fight were all going on a mission to the labyrinth, which was the one that interested her the most. She shrugged. The Cathedral looked good, and it was being run by Johanna, so that was a plus. She'd like to get to know her better. She was so nice and friendly. So that's what she did. Alessia turned around and eventually managed to pick Johanna out of the crowd and made her way through the throng of guild members to reach her. "Good morning Johanna." She said, smiling. "I'll be with you on this mission."
The night passed fairly peacefully for Caliborn. Once everyone had retired to their rooms and went to bed, he fell asleep quickly. Sleep was easy to come for him. It had never been a problem really, waiting for sleep. After his peaceful night, he went out early as he always did and had a fairly weighty breakfast. Bacon, sausage and poached egg. A solid meal for the day's work to come. A message came through from an old friend. He wanted a hand with something at home, and it sounded complex enough for guild work, though not so much that it would be complex. Curses weren't usually too hard to deal with. He should at least show the new guys how it was done though. They weren't actually expected to know this already, so, they may as well learn. Caliborn positioned himself at one of the centre tables. That would make it quite easy for people to find him. Dale was out before the rest of the room. Great. Evanora had a note for him on the board. He was taking the kids to school. He chuckled wryly at that. Well, this was going to be an interesting one. Schools didn't usually need help. What was wrong, ghost haunting the school toilet? Children always seemed to believe their school was haunted, but he got the feeling that in this case, it probably wasn't just a couple of silly children and a paranoid teacher. Well, he'd be in his usual spot at the table farthest from everyone else. If people wanted to get paid they could damn well come to him.
Edric dissolved the broom at the scream and his hand flew immediately to his staff. He grasped it and looked at Scarlett, she too was armed and ready. A scream? At this guild? Who would be stupid enough to try anything? It had to be bad news. You didn't get that much reason to scream around here. "Sounds like trouble." He said. He hurriedly approached the door. Sounded like a girl's scream. Had to be the girl's dorms then. Who would even try it? Then it hit him. Johanna! it didn't sound like her but it may not have reached her yet! "Let's move!" Dale rushed to the girl's dorms, the evident source of the scream. But where? Four rooms and no sign of where the trouble was! "Is everything okay?" Dale called. "I heard something! Is everyone alright?" "Ah, um, thanks. Just, give that here." Dale took his trousers off Ren and stuffed them rather untidily in the draw. Luckily, he was quickly distracted so Dale was able to stuff all his clothes unceremoniously into the draws without attracting attention. The floor was an awful lot cleaner, but there was still the issue of the bottles. He moved them all over to the wall and made a mental note to ask Johanna to clean tomorrow. Hopefully she wouldn't be too mad. He'd actually have to keep the place tidy now other people lived here. He sat down on the bed and watched the other two talk, listening to get a better impression of the pair.
Caliborn looked up when Jack came in. The man's cloak was certainly extravagant, indeed much could be said for his entire outfit. It was not the garb of a humble man. The high collar and patterning on his clothes indicated a proud man to him, but that was just his opinion. We will see the measure of you soon enough. He had little to say other than comment on Caliborn's books. "Not so much as you might think, but I do read from time to time yes. I've more an interest in creatures from the wild, as you may be able to see." Caliborn answered, motioning to the various models on shelves around the room. He stood up from the desk he was sat at. He extended a hand to Jack. "I am Caliborn. Who might you be?" Edric's short, drink inspired slumber was interrupted by the sounds of a door opening. He had been long conditioned to wake up at the sound of a door. Johanna often came in while he was asleep and the poor girl had to try and wake him up. He sat up with remarkable speed and rubbed his eyes then started to scan the room, just a hint of panicked urgency in him. His eyes landed on someone vaguely familiar. The better. That's who he was. The one who started betting in the newbies! Aha! What a guy! "Ah, hello!" Edric exclaimed. He stood up and dusted himself off a bit. Oh, bloody hell. The room was still a mess. I forgot about the bloody new people! He hastily began collecting shirts and other items from the floor. "Err, sorry about the mess I ain't the tidiest. Erm, I'm Edric. Who's you? Ach sorry about the state I always bloody forget about the new people coming in I'm not used to all this new people still."
