So, if I counted correctly that brings us to 3 votes which is Soft Lynch on a Hated, correct?

Hyuge, if you had actually read what I said then you'd know what was going on with my vote. I said specifically, up there as you can see in a nice, obvious quote form Once my above question is answered, whether she goes off the list or takes the spot. Yes, there's a grammatical error in there, but the point still stands. My question was answered- Anyone regardless of allegiance can be the Hated so she took my No.1 Spot on the list. I didn't understand how the system worked, whether Hated was a separate role or not and since it's a role modifier rather than an independent role, it is now more plausible to me that she is Mafia.

Well considering Nova just confirmed that for us... I guess for me at least, that's all I really need.

    ##Vote: Marushi

That stays until you give me a good reason to get rid of it, or we find someone who needs lynching more than you do.

The question I want to ask in reference to Marushi is this: Can you be Hated AND Mafia at the same time? Is Hated a separate role within itself (Thereby meaning it couldn't be a Mafia player) or is it something you can tack on to a role? If you can, then I guess that's the nail in the coffin. That's my one sticking point on the Marushi case so far. Otherwise, the stuff from Makaze and Beau is pretty damning.

My top three reads would therefore be as follows:
Hyuge- I've explained part of this. Mak explains the rest for me nicely. Later, I'll try and do a full Hyuge case post.
Spike- Inactive and hard to get anything from. He's so bland that there's something going on. This will have to be re-evaluated when KeyToTruth starts posting. I think his actions will be very, very telling on the game.
Marushi- After viewing the cases made, for those reasons I suspect. Once my above question is answered, whether she goes off the list or takes the top spot.

Dale flinched slightly as Cal jumped and quickly attached herself to him. Regaining his composure he steadied Calxiyn on her feet and took her hand off his shoulder.
"There, steady yourself there." Dale said. Then he focused his attention back to the immature teenager Kiyomi. "Thank you for the information miss Kiyomi. Is that quite everything or do you have anything else to add? If not, then I suggest we start to form our plan of action."

Alessia blinked a couple of times as the girl collapsed. She exhaled heavily. It was done and the child was okay. She was just asleep. Wiping her brow she stepped back and prepared to speak, but then a chill set in the room. It appeared out of seemingly nowhere, summoned by some ethereal power or human sense- A warning to tell them that it wasn't over yet. The lights flickered and she looked up, startled. She backed away, not from anything but merely out of a reflexive desire to get away, reaching for the sword at her back. Then, the screeching started. Her sword flashed from its sheath and she looked from side to side for something, anything that was dangerous. Then, all of a sudden, it ended. There was silence. The cold disappeared and the lights stabilised.
"Is everyone okay?" She asked as she glanced around. Everyone was alright by the looks of things except... Ander. He stood up straight. As if he was trying to feign normality by being as straight as possible (which nobody stood like). Stiffly, the man approached Ren and clasped his arm. "Ander let him go! Ren, you should get away. He doesn't look right even I can see that."

Okay, so if Spike is considered to be a poor choice for a Lynch, then that leaves us in a position where we should select a different lynch target. Also, it seems kind of harsh to lynch him given that he's has been legitimately unable to post, and so we haven't really given him a chance to develop. If the inactivity continues then it may be worth a policy lynch, but we should also account for the fact that through his death, we will achieve very, very little as has been pointed out. As such, we are left with the choice of two other votes that are equally high, and those are on Cat and Calxiyn.

Personally, I'm not in the voting for Cal camp. She's provided some useful insight so far and seems to have a couple of ideas for us and may yet prove to be a steady source of useful information. I get more of a Town vibe from her, so I would not be in favour of lynching her.

On the other hand, for me Cat is the preferred target if we are not killing Spike. It's not about the random vote on me or anything, I simply just don't get much of a vibe at all from you whereas I get more of a town one from Cal. Since Cat has already made some accusations depending on the alignment, we may get some insight into the alignments of our other players.

Or we could try Moksha. I mean, that's not a bad choice but I feel like we should go for someone that will give us something, and with the two votes already on Cat we reduce the chance of a no lynch as a result of unvoting. I do however agree with you Judge that Moksha's performance can be improved, so I think that if none is shown then it may be practical to follow up with a lynch tomorrow if no better information comes out. We may be able to garner more information from Moksha's death later based on tomorrow's actions.

At this point, I suppose we wait for Beau to post and the day to end. I can't see anything else that we really can do with such a limited time frame available to us to act in.

Trigger, any particular reason you went against Midnight Star's perfectly reasonable directive to not put any more votes on Spike?

Actually, on that matter Midnight, anyone you're interested in voting? You're the only one I can see missing from that list of people that have voted.

Caliborn approached the lights and flicked them back on again. Their purpose was completed here. Now... It was time to wait. As the lights came on again, the three girls looked a little startled.
"Alright, that'll be it everyone. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Me and my guild mates will be outside. We'll knock in the morning." Caliborn said. He turned around and led them all out of the house and on to the front lawn. "And now... We wait."

Alessia listened to what they were saying. So they had to exorcise the poor child... Well then... She wasn't the most talented wizard. She was better with the sword she carried but she knew one thing: she wasn't going to let that child suffer. So she had to offer herself up to do it. Someone would tell her what to do surely. Besides... She found the girl possessed in the forest, so it only made sense that she save the young one from the ghost inside her. She cleared her throat and looked up at them, raising a hand tentatively. She was nervous about doing this though. What if it went wrong? She didn't exactly know what she was doing.
"I'll do it." Alessia said. "I'll give it my best shot. I found her in the forest, that's what got this game started... I'd like to finish it, if I can."

"It's simple Skadi. All you need to do to use the orb as Cassandra said was to simply touch it. It'll do the work for you." Caliborn answered. it was simple enough thankfully. It could have been inconvenient if they had anything more complicated to do. Frankly, he had no idea how or why the thing worked and only a rough idea of what it did exactly, because he didn't feel the need to question the work of his guild mates. It would do its job, or they would find another way easily enough. He didn't think much about the idea of the orb actually not working. Otherwise there might be trouble. He was still curious about Elayne's book and what was freaking her out so badly about it. What could it be... Surely Zarine wouldn't have bought anything actually dangerous would she? How could she buy a magical book in the non magical district, let alone how she would have known where to get it?

"First off, everything suspicious with this post is subjective to all the other points made regarding Mish's potential scumminess. Just saying. Put your "Mafia Goggles" on (Who was it who called it that last game? Was that Cal? Thanks for the phrase. I'm stealing it. XD) And take a look at this post assuming that Mish is Mafia. If Mish is Mafia, she could be trying to defend hyuge now that hyuge is under investigation, after her initial "day 1 hunch" to ensure that later somebody could go back and read "Mish suspects hyuge." She also could be tag-teaming with hyuge to undermine Makaze's influence.

I mean, really, I agree that Makaze's not infallible, but she's laying it on a bit thick. First off, it's literally impossible to single-handedly lynch anyone in this game. Nobody was lynched by one vote only, we all played a part in every lynch, whether we voted along or if we simply sat back and allowed the wrong people to be killed. Secondly, for somebody calling Makaze out on rudeness (or, for somebody agreeing with someone who is) you're not being too polite yourself. Again, not really a tell by itself, but rather hypocritical, and in light of everything else, it adds to suspicion."

That is the point I was trying to make there in the bold.

@h y u g e If I had more of a case, believe me I would present it. The problem is, apart from what I said, I really don't. Mak's wall of text up there presents some very interesting possibilities that's for sure. My current case on you is far too centred on yourself. I'd need to look at interactions with you and other people which I hadn't done yet, an oversight on my part. I just felt the need to point out seemingly targeted 'hostility' as it were. I haven't decided whether that makes you a behaviour minded townie (Or at least, anti Mak-sheep) or a sneaky Mafia discrediting job, but we shall see in time.

    Speaking of Maru...

(Mak your way of observing stuff is insane I'd never have noticed that)

"On the The Fuk? lynch, Marushi is one of the people who is in a position to remember how The Fuk? played last game and know that he was acting identically and that he was town last game, like Trigger. Her complete failure to mention this similarity threw up a red flag due to her usual second-guessing behavior, like how she said she felt about Beau just before."

So, are you suggesting that we need to have people who were in the last game comparing their behaviour then to their behaviour now? I'm not entirely sure on what people are like here, but I just think this on your point about her contradicting her "Second guessing nature"- Is it possible that this has been overcome since the last game and with more experience, she's more confident?

"As things stand right now, I would rather lynch Marushi than Mish to see if I am right."

"Marushi has set it up so that if Mish is cleared, then both hyuge and Spike can be cleared as well under the same model. If Trigger turns out not to be Mafia, then I think Spike may be the third in this hypothetical scumteam. I can't case him due to lack of evidence, but the circumstantial bits make it at least worth looking into. If Trigger isn't Mafia.

I just have to ask here- Does this still mean that we're lynching Trigger, or that we're going to take a chance on Marushi? I don't know which target is more worthwhile to lynch and I'm not sure what information we're going to gain on Trigger's death, other than perhaps an explanation on why he pulled his last minute vote switched trick. As far as I remember, I don't anybody has really been "buddying" him, so is there anything that we stand to gain from Trigger's lynch over Marushi/Mish?

"The way she narrated my plan and played it up and down to some shadow audience is also sending red flags now. She has showed surprisingly little resistance to my ideas and asked few questions. Her comments about my plan have mostly been to the thread itself instead of me. She has avoided confronting me head on. Meanwhile she said that people shouldn't blindly follow me because I am often wrong in no uncertain terms. Not too long after, she called it brilliant. She spoke badly about my plan to the wind and simultaneously praised it. It doesn't sit right with me and makes me wonder if she is intentionally trying to stay under my radar. If so, it was working, until now."

That is a little weird I'll grant you. When it comes to confronting you head on, I don't think anybody really wants to. It's a little intimidating because you're a very strong presence in the game, and frankly I don't think people want to get written off as Mafia because they doubted you. Maybe I put a little too much stock in people just being afraid to challenge you, but that's the way I see that.

Overall, as individual points, they don't tell much although when you pull it all together like you did there, you do seem to have a case. Therefore, do we take this to read as:

Marushi displays contradictory/hypocritical behaviour in relation to her reads and actions towards Mak.
Hyuge seems to go against Mak where possible.
Mish joined them in this criticism.
    Therefore Mafia buddy team?

Something seems off about that. It would make sense with my allegations towards Hyuge, but I've never really got the impression that they were helping each other out a whole lot. Maybe I need to trawl through the thread in a little more detail, but it just seems that there is a pretty weak connection at best, although I'd be interested in pursuing it if only to get something out of my Hyuge suspicions.

Good point. You're right, but meh. I'm cautious, although in this instance it's probably good for us to know who the Hated one is. I just don't want to have to spend half a Day figuring out which of two people claiming is the actual Hated role.

  15. al215
I would also be cautious of somebody misclaiming Hated, but then again what purpose would that serve other than to heighten suspicion on that person so perhaps not a legitimate concern. Still, I meet role-speccing with a hint of caution.

I'd like to know what you make of my Hyuge case as well, but also I see your point about opinion influence. It'd be logical for people to follow you because since you're the only confirmed town here, it would logically be town to follow you. Bah, it's annoying to have a resource that would be good to dip into yet is fatally crippled by the potential to control the crowd. Amusingly enough, I built a little case around her but that's something that Hyuge is good for. Her constant contradictions of you at least provide a differing opinion.

The problem with posting on Day One is that we have to post to stay alive, yet we have very little to post other than random guff simply because we haven't got reactions yet. And well, recent attempts to get reactions seem to have been met with mostly mockery so I can see this being a very, very productive day indeed. Can someone compile a list of who needs to post because it's like, 2:40AM and I'm too sleepy to do it myself XD
