Conrad Heinrich Adelbrecht Carsten von Eisenstein II

Conrad had made a wrong assumption about the type of banishment, apparantly the man in front of him had been part of the Vellister family, he vaguely recalled the name, but couldn't recall much else about them. Damian looked down and his words gave away this wasn't a subject to be discussed at the time, maybe some time in the future, maybe Conrad would never learn. Either way it was no use to attempt to discuss it any further, something had happened and Damian had been banished, end of story. "
I am sorry to hear that, I'm apologise for asking about something that clearly is a sensitive subject. I will refrain from asking any further." Conrad said, wanting to look the man in the eyes as he said it to show he meant it, but he was still looking down. "Thank you, once again for your help." He added, truly grateful for what the man had done for him.

He looked back to Tessa, still uncertain why she had come to this room in the first place, he'd inquire later, but from her words, he had figured that she truly did come here for him, it was a curious little thing, particularly the reason why was something he couldn't really figure out. Sure, he was a nobleman, but she hadn't known that prior to Vance bringing it up. So that put him to just being a mage, not the best on around either. The only reason he could think of would have been something that had to do with that earlier conversation. But with the raw emotion of what had just come to pass, still in his mind he doubted that if it was something he had done wrong, which he felt like he had, would be discussed.

    Conrad nodded "
I'll make sure to stay in bed for the day, avoid straining myself" He said, then Tessa and Damian conversed about learning the art of healing magic. Conrad took note of a single word Damian used: Banished. This manhad been sent out of his homeland? He wondered what the man had done to deserve that. "You have done me a great service, Damian, I will not forget that." Conrad remained silent for a few moments, long enough for him to hear what Tessa was saying and notice the nails digging into her palms. "Damian, if you don't mind me asking, you mentioned getting banished, what was the reason that happened? I apologise in advance if I overstepped my boundaries" He asked with genuine interest in his voice. He then turned to Tessa and smiled "You're welcome to stay, it would help against the silence."

    Meanwhile far far away......

"Okay, I didn't see that one coming" Said the spirit more to himself than anyone else when the huntsman turned out to be a huntswoman. Apparantly she was supposed to maim Snow White's face "If this fails there's a simple three step plan I was taught by a good mate of mine. I'd suggest using that then." The spirit then went back to his own devices when the queen returned staring intently at him, Conrad's face was unmoved showing no emotion, but rather a neutral gaze. "Let me see what I can do...." He said as the image shifted first into a beautiful mountain landscape "hmmm no that's not it.." it changed again to about 22 people running around on a field after a sphere" definitely not it, how did that even end up here?" it then shifted to a beautiful sunrise, the spirit watched in awe as the skies went from blue and grey to orange then to pink only to give way to the orange orb appearing on the horizon. "Sorry 'bout that.." The image then turned into static "We're experiencing technical difficulties." After a little while the static slowly would give way to an image of Snow white until it was entirely cleared up "There we go, thank you for your patience."

Conrad mentally prepared himself when Damian said it would hurt a bit, then nodded. He felt his arm pop back into it's socket and his face contorted in pain. The magic relieved a lot of the pain for him, keeping him comfortable as the medicine would do it's work. He already felt better but he would have to remain in bed for atleast another day. It was then that he heard Tessa's soft whisper "
If I'm not mistaken, this kind of thing can be taught. Damian would know for certain though." Conrad said, fairly certain of his words. She then asked him in an even softer voice whether it hurt or not, he would be truthful not to hurt her feelings, but to lie now wouldn't benefit anything, not even a white lie. "It does, it hurt more just after the hit though, Vance's cure spell numbed the pain and Damian's work is also helping with relieving the pain, I'll be fine in no time. I've endured worse for that matter." Conrad said with a small gentle smile. He then looked to Damian "Thank you, if there is anything I can do in return, let me know."

Raymond Mercator, his lands near Oxenfurt

He had dug the post holes and erected the 6 poles that would support his new home, it was significantly smaller than his old one, but what would he need all that room for? He was on his own again, he still felt numb inside from the shock of losing everything he had worked so hard to build. It was good that the work would provide some distraction of it all. He did it all himself for he couldn't afford to have it all built for him. It wasn't a very difficult home to build anyways 6 poles to hold up the roof and to use as bases for the walls around it. Simple, effective, cheap and easy to repair. He felled another tree and started to divide it into planks to start building the walls. He'd start with the north eastern corner for the winds came in from there, it'd atleast give him a corner to rest after he had finished the roof, for he was certain he wouldn't be able to get it all done today, even if his legs were good he would be unable to complete it in time, now he'd be lucky if he could get it all done by tomorrow... Raymond worked as hard as he could throughout the day atleast getting to the point where he could sleep underneath a roof he could call his own again. It wasn't much, but it was all he had, all he needed as the man drifted off to sleep, with his sword laying next to him.

Tessa had completely collapsed both emotionally and physicly. He felt sorry for her, this too was part of the consequences of his own actions. She hadn't want to hurt him, he was uncertain if she had truly intended to hurt Vance, but thinking about the what if's was no use. Seeing Damian stood there completely dumbstruck, he figured there was still time to atleast try to comfort Tessa, the way she was struggling with her words. It saddened him a little, she had only acted upon her feelings, was that too wrong? "
Tessa, it's okay...you didn't want to hurt me, I know that and I doubt you truly wanted to hurt Vance either...I knew full well what I was doing and what would happen to me when I went ahead with it... I can take a beating, I underestimated the power of the attack, but I'm okay, I'll be back to normal rather quickly..." The way she sat there on her knees, burying her face like that it could mean only one thing. He didn't say a word about it though, then Vance had to add a little more to the burden she already was unable to bear and this angered Conrad "Vance! Enough! Need I remind you that your tactless words nearly put you in the spot I currently am in, I didn't take that hit for you so you could give another kick to someone who is already down!" He said not even trying to disguise the venom in his voice, a very unusual quality for the generally calm and neutral nobleman. Vance may not have heard his words as he walked out the door but Conrad didn't care for that. It took him a moment to get it all out of his system through a few deep breaths he looked at the girl again, she still sat there on the ground. "If you don't have anywhere else to go, I wouldn't mind if you stayed here, but if you do decide to stick around, when you can, please get yourself up from the floor, it's no place for a friend." Conrad said the kindness having returned to his voice. He looked back to Damian and nodded, indicating to start the procedure.

He was glad that Vance was sensible, it meant the pain wasn't in vain. Vance wanted to find him a healer, he figured it was because Vance felt like he owed Conrad that. Despite Vance taking up a position to help support him, Conrad tried to keep himself on his feet only to rely on the nobleman when he needed it, the cure spell didn't feel like it was doing much, aside from relieving pain, making it easier on Conrad to breathe. It was then that Damian showed up again, he had probably heard all the commotion and came back to see what was going on. Conrad gave him a weak smile. "
I'd like to take you up on that offer.." Conrad said as he stumbled back to his bed and unceremoniously dropped down, a red stain was formed on the pillow from the wounds on his head and several on the covers from smaller wounds on his back. He looked over to Vance "You should go find Thea, before something happens...We'll talk later, I promise. And don't worry.... I'll be fine..." Conrad said, the last time he had been this hurt, he blacked out for several hours before coming to, then again he took a very different beating then. It hadn't been too long ago and some of the scars were still visible. He then looked at Tessa, who looked like she just might fall apart in front of them. "Tessa... it's okay, I'm alive.... I'll be alright....I'm not mad at you for this" He said truthfully.

Conrad ignored Vance's adaptation of lord Julius' words before he was stabbed by his most loyal servant. Vance knew what was gonna happen and called Conrad out on the sheer insanity of the unfolding events. Tessa screamed for him to move, but there was no time to do so. He got a glimpse of Vance's eyes and knew what the man would do for him, but that wasn't at all what Conrad wanted... Before he could start thinking of how to defuse this situation the storm of magic hit him, he held his ground for a split second before being blasted off his feet against the wall, he felt the wind keeping him in place as it subsided he fell to the floor face first. He tasted his own blood in his mouth, the back of his head throbbing and he taking his first normal breath sent a shock of pain through him, resorting to shallower breaths to ease the pain. Everything hurt, but he had to defuse this situation, it was his fault it existed in the first place.

He struggled to his knees looking at Vance who looked ready to pounce. "Vance! Don't.. whatever you do.. don't retaliate, it'll only be the next step in an endless cycle of misery and pain... It isn't worth it... You always say you're so much better... now's your time to prove it, it's easy to just retaliate and do what everyone else would do, to just go with it. It takes strength to not do so, to stand against the masses... You said it yourself nobility has to give the example.. Now's your chance... If not for yourself then do it for me.. I just took a hit for you, which if I recall the lessons correctly you owe me one.... so the least you could do is listen..." Conrad said, stopping after every few words to make the pain more managable, Vance only listened to reason he had just said it himself, another thing he knew Mr Dorian understood was cold politics and Conrad hadn't shown that side of him before. He struggled to get to his feet, the white hair on the back of his head had started to slowly turn crimson from the blood slowly oozing from a large wound on the back of his head. He didn't care about it right now stumbling over to position himself between Tessa and Vance, to prevent further escalation if his reasoning failed. He made a big gamble but Tessa's reaction told him she hadn't meant to hurt him and wouldn't try anything with him in the line of fire. He struggled to remain upright. "This pointles violence..... has to end right now.." He said again not being able to keep the pain from slipping into his voice. As a drop of blood from a small wound on his forehead traced downward. Conrad looked like a mess with a few tears in his Cyan shirt, the blood in his hair and running down his face, but he couldn't allow this to continue

    "
I yell at him because he woke me up for something that can easily wait till tomorrow morning!" Conrad replied annoyed at Thea "Oh no I'm a meanypants what am I to do now...." He added in a sarcastic manner, she was just a girl didn't have a filter on her mouth he knew that very well. But the annoyance of being woken up for this, the long day he had behind him with all the disappointment he just wanted to sleep and being unable to do so only added to his annoyance. Vance responded to Tessa and as expected he wasn't being polite about it, while Tessa hadn't be polite either, it was only a small effort to restrain oneself. He could feel the air rush towards Tessa, she mentioned having lost control as well and knew what was going to happen. Vance probably came to get answers about why he had walked away and Tessa still being here meant that she was in fact here for him. This was a mess he had created and while Vance was an ass, he shouldn't be assaulted like this, not for something that wasn't his fault. As he saw the air swirl around Tessa he knew he had to act fast, he jumped up and pushed Vance out of the path of the wind bracing himself for impact, shouting "STOP!!!! STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!"

Just when Vance was going to demand an answer as Conrad expected him he would he realised that he was sitting on top of someone and immediatly started to go about his usual routine for berating people. Conrad turned back around and threw the covers back, revealing the cyan shirt and nightsky blue pants he wore, dispelling a certain someone's fear of walking in on something indecent. "
You really want to do this right now don't you....If it gets you off my back and leave me in peace to continue my sleep, then fine...." Conrad sighed, it was then that Tessa walked in, Conrad was surprised what was she doing here? "Tessa? What brings you here? I thought you were busy with training..." He said confusedly. From what she said she clearly didn't know Vance. He couldn't be too sure about whether or not she knew Damian but that left just himself and Damian as a reason for coming here. But if it was him, then what reason did she have for coming over? While pondering this he heard her go all out at Vance, this would go south so fast he'd expect penguins to be running around just about now. He did make note of the difference between the shy Tessa and this more fierce side. But he doubted it would be enough against someone as merciless and inconsiderate as Vance. "Vance is born of Noble blood, he was raised differently, he is this way because of his upbringing and his birthright, he seems himself as far superior to anyone else, except nobility that is obviously of higher rank than him, don't count on a warm welcome from him..." Conrad said in an attempt to answer both Tessa's question and shift some of Vance's anger to himself.

He had been dreaming, it was another one of the disturbing dreams, a knight had accepted the challenge on the third day of his journey he laid his eyes upon a mountain. The knight tried to climb it, a rock gave way under his feet and he hung there for a moment. The knight hung on for as long as he could, but it was not enough. He tumbled down the mountain and came to a halt in the fire. A booming voice spoke "
Arise! since you have heard my voice, you shall possess the portals of your enemies!" From the raging fires a blackened figure arose. A voice bereft of all emotion explained that a storm was rising and that it would swallow world after world after world. Quick but without haste leaving behind only chaos and doom. It was then that Conrad heard "Awake, son of Eisenstein. We need to talk." It felt so out of place and moments later the mountain collapsed around him, the fires died out and he was back in the Dorm.

He opened his eyes, his head hurt a little bit. That's when he saw Vance sitting there, staring at him. It made sense now... the voice that didn't belong it was Vance. "
Can this wait? I was sleeping...I mean I doubt it's important enough to just wake me up on purpose and if you did it to annoy me, congratulations, you have succeeded, it has been a long and exhausting day and I'd like to sleep if you don't mind... if you do mind, my agenda is right over there, find yourself a spot." Conrad said turning onto his other side putting his back to Vance. It's then that he heard Damian apologise for getting drunk and ending up in the wrong bed. Funny... he hadn't noticed Damian already being in the room when he went to bed.

The spirit looked a bit surprised at the queen "
M'lady are you feeling alright? You're not in the least bit worried that Snow White has surpassed your beauty, becoming the most beautiful creature in all the lands?" The spirit said surprised "But haven't you been afraid of snow white surpassing you all these years? Didn't you dislike the girl for the fact she'd surpass you?" The spirit said as Conrad's way of helping his fellow actress. "As for shooting, to send an arrow flying at someone with the intent of killing or wounding them"

Meanwhile.... Despite Tessa's knocking and saying it was her, Conrad remained firmly rooted in dreamland

There are some other people that think it's fun to torment the spirit in the mirror" The spirit remarked with a curteous bow and an apologetic tone. Calxyin was getting pretty enthousiastic about helloween, while he liked autumn and winter he wasn't too big on Halloween, but he'd play the part and listen to the stories. He sat down to listen only to end up to have been given a role in the story, spirit of the mirror eh? A very odd coincidence but he didn't mind it too much, he listened to what was told and then emerged into his character.

"You know, if you asked politely I'd be a lot more inclined to help you, as would a lot of people" The spirit stated without showing himself in the mirror. "And do you really need me to tell you you look pretty again? I mean I'm on a bit of a tight schedule today and should have known you'd ask but hey even the best make mistakes. Also I know I already put it forward but if you would read my request to drop the term slave when adressing me, that'd be greatly appreciated" With that the spirit appeared in the mirror, a shadowed figure standing amongst the flames of a raging fire "Now what is it you require of me? Same as every day or want to mix things up a little for once?"

    Raymond Mercator, outskirts of Oxenfurt

It had been a long and harrowing journey from his hometown in Aedirn, he was still recovering from the shock of losing everything, he didn't have much more than the clothes on his back, a uniform of a country that no longer existed, a single coin he hadn't exchanged so it may remind him of his homeland and a few crowns. His family was probably dead now. He had only gotten lucky by pretending to be dead but luck was only a perspective, he didn't feel lucky at all. He shifted his weight to his good leg and looked at the city in the distance. He doubted the black ones would leave it alone as well. No matter where he ran, he felt certain it would follow him. The world as he had come to know it was coming to an end. Or as that one street preacher put it Nigh is the time of the sword and axe. He looked around him, the looks on the faces of the people and saw they tried to mask their fear of the War making it here.

He walked out of the city gate, the city was no place for people like him, except to sell excess produce. He wandered down the dirt roads past the little wooden shacks,he had gotten instructions on how to get to his recently acquired land. He had somehow become a free man instead of a serf. He didn't really care for the technicalities of it all and it didn't even feel very different. Just that he wouldn't have to give a part of his produce to the lord, but Harvest was still a long time away and he was unsure how he would make it all work out until then. After a while of walking he finally arrived at his land, mainly grassland at the edge of the woods, it would need some work particularly in the housing department but he would make it work, he had to, he hadn't survived the battle only to die of starvation.

Career: Ferdinand works as an electrician

Bio: Ferdinand was born the sixth child to Claire and Jason Bakker. His life hadn't gone like he had wanted and in elementary school he had been picked on by his classmates damagining his ability to trust people. He stood by himself, laying down the foundation for his inner strength. The first three years were alright, but after that, year after year being picked on and cast out. His parents spoke to the school but nothing would be done against it and it would go on and on and on. Nearing the end of elementary school he had started to define himself more, finding solace in the music he had discovered. The transition to High school was favourable and Ferdinand saw it as a new begining, only a handful of people from his old class were there and therefore didn't have the support to continue the torment and so Ferdinand could start anew, making a few friends along the way. The days turned into weeks which strung together into months. The first year was relatively normal, people did ridicule his choices for music and his interrests in the military, but after what happened these years, he drew from his inner strength to ignore it. The following months he just acted like he belonged while on the inside he felt like he never truly fit in. The people he had his classes with only seemed to pretend to be interested in him for convenience sake, to get his help on a project or similar things, he went along with it only becoming more angry at himself. The first year melt into the second year nd Ferdinand had gotten used to the people around him, continuing the masquerade. The new class mentor being a teacher he got along with fairly greatly had seen him in the halls and knew something was off. He silently watched on until one day Ferdinand couldn't take it anymore and asked if he had a moment to talk. When the teacher asked what was bugging him and a series of specific questions didn't bring them any further due to Ferdinand not being able to express himself the teacher gave him a sheet of paper and a pen to write it down. The teacher then left the room and Ferdinand spilled it all out on paper feeling a lot better. The teacher told him that if it were necesarry that he could come back, but Ferdinand never got back to it. The months passed on and the third year had come someone new had entered the class, a girl, Karen, with the choosing of new seating places and people generally picking people over him he ended up sitting next to her in History class, due to his nervosity he didn't say a word until nearing the end of the lesson, some of the others took the piss out of him for not being able to speak. The following weeks it got a bit easier on him to talk to her as he got to know her better, yet never show his true self out of fear of ridicule or rejection. He was losing heart for the cause his friends tried to get him into, namely the popular bunch, he never cared much for it, but played along. Yet some of the remarks of Karen placed sparked the fire that would turn the gears within his mind. He reflected upon everything and realised enough was enough, he decided to break away from the mould he had fitted himself into and to go his own way. He was in this world for himself, strengthening the walls around his heart he took the lonely road, keeping up appearances fighting his way through the days and against the monster he had created himself. He didn't care anymore what anyone thought of him, further isolating himself through this behaviour. He started following Pencak Silat classes to vent all his frustration in training, meeting his match in his sparring partner Simon, neither would hold back in their fights making it an excellent way to vent all frustration and train himself. Ferdinand finished High School without a problem and proceeded with doing an apprenticeship to become an electrician seeing he saw nothing in an office job, electrician was just another branch of the main road and wasn't what he had desired to do on the inside wanting to join the Armed Forces something he had wanted to do since he was young. The years just strung together and soon he was 24 enjoying his work and spending his free time to indulge in his hobbies.

You should be happy with your own choises. Let me say it this way. It like pick your own adventure book. If someone picks all your choises for you, will you be happy with the outcome?' This made me think you misunderstood what Tessa was asking for, a reasonable assumption don't you think?" Conrad said, he hadn't offended the man and learned his name was Jack, then out of the blue this bloke asked whether he should leave or not. "I see no reason why you should do so." He said then taking a second look at the man who had named himself Zephyr and then vaguely remembered that what the man had said was true and replied in kind "I remember that now that you mention it, I apologise for not doing so before." He yawned again behind his hand and was reminded why he had come back to the Guild in the first place. "I think it's time for me to go find my bed. It's been nice to meet all of you and I'll see you all somewhere along the way. I apologise once more for my misinterpretation." With that he left the small gathering of people and marched on to the Dorm rooms, getting turned around a few times he eventually found his dorm room. He took off his belts and long coat and put them away, proceeding with removing his boots and pushing them under the bed. He reflected on the events of the day, it had been a long one and not thebest day he had had, but he knew he had made progress towards his goal. He lay down on the bed and only moments later the young man had drifted off to sleep peacefully

Alessia shook his hand firmly and he did so in return. "
Likewise Alessia, it has been a while, went on two missions, but I can't really say I have kept track of the time." Another person joined them and he saw worry flash across his face, Alessia asked about her control over magic. The newly arrived bloke then continued to lecture her on how letting others make all decisions for you is bad, he clearly misunderstood what Tessa meant. The way he saw it, taking the nervousness into account he figured that what she did want to be instructed on was how to keep her magic under control, not how to live her entire life. He decided to speak up for her, just to take a little bit of the group pressure off her, which was what made her nervous. "While most of your reasoning is sound, there is a single error you made. Sure I can be wrong here, but I don't think she meant to ask us to tell her what to do with every single thing in her life. Merely asking for pointers to help her with her magic." Conrad said, calmly pointing out what he felt was an error in Jack's reasoning. He had been polite about it and if this man got offended by it, the fault wasn't his own or atleast he felt it wouldn't be.
